Life of me
by: bay speed

I love horses! I guess you could say I am about as crazy as you can get,but lately I have been sad. I love riding and taking care of horses and with out my mom I can't do a lot with my horses. I can train horses and love it too, but with school and everything i have homework and go to my kingdom hall and with all of this it is hard to take care of all my horses. I also help with chores which I like but I have been having trouble getting up in the morning and with chores it is hard. At least I am not the only one doing them.

I also love both my horses. I am extremely lucky to own a horse ranch and have to of my very own special horses, and also to have special horse crazy friends. I would love horses even if all my horse friends did not. People might complain about horses but I love almost everything about them. The things I don't like I don't mind and i try to fix, nothing is the horses fault and never get mad at the beautiful horse because it dose not help.

I am going to get by and hopefully start my horse back riding lessons. One of my goals is to get to level 1 in dressage. I always will protect horses and want them safe. Never think that selling your horse is the answer to your problems and getting a new horse because you will just have a new set of problems with the new horse if you don't fix your problems with the previous horse. Enjoy and take good care of your horses and hang around horse people to keep on loving your horses forever that is what I do.

The Ghost Stallion, part 1
By:
Pizza freak

As the sun set that Autumn night, a stallion lingered in the shadows of the forest. He whinnied out into the distance, but there was no answer. Not even the sound of a cricket chirping. "Hello?" He whinnied. But there was still no answer. His name was Ghost. He was lonely because he had no herd. Nothing. Ever since he left everything back in Alabama, he missed his friends. Everything was either lost or gone. But before all that happened, he had a beautiful mate and two playful foals named Blossom and Terra. Oh, how he missed the sound of their laughter. And his mate's soft voice. And-well, everything. He knew they had either died or gotten lost. He hoped that they were only lost and nothing else. But he sometimes got that feeling. The feeling of emptiness. Now, in the cold forests of North Carolina, shadows loomed in the darkness. The moon lit up the face of the earth, and a cool rain tapped against tree branches. If he wasn't so absorbed in his thoughts he would have heard a faint whinny in the distance.

Arabian face
by Carole 2222

Staring at the pool, eyes longing to see,
My face, my beautiful Arabian face.

Staring at the frost, ears longing to hear,
the wind, the softly whispering wind.

Staring at the walls, muzzle longing to feel,
the warmth, the warmth of another,

For I know I can never have all I long for,
They were cruel, so cruel, to take her away from me.

Time of my life
artist54

I could feel my horses heart beat underneath the old leather saddle I was riding in. The wind rustling through his mane. I leaned forward in the saddle and asked for a gallop. Then we soared over jumps. It was like I only cared about what happened in the saddle. anything could happen outside of the barn and I wouldn't care. My horse and I are a team. We will be together forever.

Amanda's Race
Apple06

"Mom! Please can I race Bently" said Amanda with a tone of anger in her voice. "Honey, we have already dicussed this," said Amanda's mom calmly. Amanda Carling had everything a horse lover would want. She had a strawberry roan gelding, a nice black leather saddle, and she lived on a 20 acre horse farm. What more could a horse crazy girl want? There was one thing she and her horse wanted to do...race! She felt her horse Bently was born to race. All she wanted was a chance to show her parents that she could win a horse race. Tears swelled in Amanda's eyes as she said," Mom, can't you understand that all I have ever wanted was to enter the Juvenile Colorado Horse Race!" She stormed out to the barn. "Just one chance!"she muttered to herself. Tears flowed down her cheeks and plopped on to her old faded blue jeans. Bentley winnied. It cheered her up a little bit. She went over and gently stroked Bently's face. There was only one thing that would cherr her up...a ride! She saddled Bently up and led him out of the barn. She tightened his girth and hopped on his back. She led him to a green pasture that stretched as far as the eye could see. "Let's RIDE!" she told Bently. She pressed her heal into his side and he started at a canter. Then urged him on into a gallop. Amanda felt free. There they were flying through the wind like a speck of dust floating over an open sea. They galloping around the gigantic pasture for half an hour. She slowed Bently down to a walk. She patted his neck and told him that he did amazing. Then an idea popped into her head. She could host her own race! That surely would show her parents that she could race! She got started on planning the race immediately. Amanda told all her friends that owned horses to come to the race. Amanda knew the person that owned a newspaper company. He let her put an add in the newspaper for free. She told everyone she knew about the race. The race was in one week. Every day she and Bently galloped around the big pasture to train for the race. Amanda's alarm clock rang. She darted out of bed. It was the day of the race! There was one thing Amanda worried about...what would her parents think when they found out she was doing a race! She pushed this thought out of her mind and headed out the door to tack Bently up. People started arriving. Pretty soon people were lined up at the starting line. Amanda lined up at the starting line. Her parents stared at her in astonishment. The air horn blew and were off! Bently immediatly broke into a gallop. Amanda leaned forward and Bently bolted into an even faster gallop. She and another person were head to head. Amanda pushed her heels into to Bently's sides and he went even faster. They passed the other horse and rider. All the sudden they passed the finish line!!! Amanda and Bently won!. Amanda dismounted and found herself facing her parent. Instead of yelling at her thay said, "Amanda, we are pround of you for sticking to your dreams." Amanda attended many races after that. She even attended the Juvenile Colorado Horse Race! Perservere andstick to your dreams. Don't lose hope!
