Beginning of "Wild Horses and Revenge": Part of Chapter 1
Exclusive-
Going home. I'm going home! Were the words Kristen Jones kept repeating in her head on her flight. She would have said them out loud, but she was sure the flight marshals would label her as crazy. Maybe mentioning the fact that she was a devoted Christian would convince them otherwise? Or, depending on their point of view, would it assure them that they were correct in thinking that she was, indeed, crazy?
Either way, she didn't exclaim her excitement.
Where was home? On a ranch in Wyoming.
Kristen sighed in anticipation. The rolling hills were more than a memory. It was her home. A home she had lived in all her life. Collage had been great, but spending her summer break in Wyoming was what she really longed for, and here she was on her way back. Becoming a vet was her dream, but going home was very much a dream come true.
Kristen looked out the small window with a bright grin. Clouds blocked most of the view, but it sure was beautiful. Kristen nestled back into her seat.
Her stomach dropped.
Were they making their descent? She waited for an announcement from the pilot or flight attendant, but none came. Probably just some turbulence, she guessed with disappointed sigh.
Soon, though, she would be back. She wondered what hilarious scheme her brothers, Daniel and Keith, were planning, though they were both well past that conniving age. Or what guy her sister, Sarah, had a crush on this time. She chuckled to herself.
Her father, Steve Jones, was probably collecting his World Famous Wild Honey. At least, that's what he called it. But, that was only a hobby. He was actually a Law Enforcement Ranger for the Bureau of Land Management. And her dear mother, Dee Jones, was probably a'top her bay Appaloosa mare, Mesa, seeking out inspiration for her new masterpiece. Her mother was an artist, and was exemplary at what she did. She'd ride the range, keeping her eyes open for things to spark her imagination. She never failed to find what she was looking for.
Boy, she had sure missed home.
Kristen sighed pleasantly. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for the blessing of having a family like mine. Then, she noticed the mountains. Her home, True Blue Ranch, was nestled in a broad valley somewhere down there.
Kristen closed her eyes, remembering every detail of the ranch when she left. She sighed.
The wait would soon be over.

-The Amazing Nora -By, Colorful_Angel- One day, there was a girl named Nora. She lived on a lovely horse farm. She loved helping her mom and dad every afternoon after she got out of school. "Ahh what a beautiful day it is." Said Nora as she opened her bedroom door to go get some breakfast. "Nora come get your eggs, and orange juice!" Called Lisa, Nora's mom.
"Coming mom!" Nora called back.
As Nora turned the corner she ran to the table and started quickly eating.
"What's the rush?" Asked Lisa
"I get to ride George Today!" Exclaimed Nora
George was Nora's very own horse.
Nora put her dishes in the sink, put some boots and her coat on, and ran out the door.
Nora walked into the barn and looked right into George's stall.
"Hi George, I missed you." Said Nora in a hushed tone.
George Whinnied as if he was saying he missed her back.
Nora opened the stall and closed it behind her. Then she turned to George and Brushed him.
After that she put all of his tack on, and then they went to the trails.
Along the way they had seen other kids riding pony's. Then out of the blue, she heard her name being called. "Nora! Where are you? It's time for you to come eat dinner!" It was Nora's big sister Alec.
"Ok time to head on home George." Nora said as they darted off to the barn.
Nora put George back in his stall, and ran off into the house.
Once she was in the house and looked at the clock it was 7:15 P.M.
"Mom, what time was it when I woke up?" Asked Nora
"Oh, you woke up at 12:00 P.M." Replied her mom
"So lunch time?"
"Yes" Replied Lisa
And right then at that exact moment Nora knew she had all she ever needed, right there in-front of her. And what she needed was a great family, and an amazing horse!

"A clear round for Nori and Shore again in the second round of the nationals jump-off! 28 seconds!"

Nori was the proud owner of Shore, a champion Arabian jumper who had won many ribbons. Shore was very calm, but if anyone brought a broom near her she would be wild. Nori had
jumped in nationals with her but Shore was still so afraid of brooms she shyed away at the sight of one. Nori had loved wating at the pens to buy her own horse and she had a champion!

Home Sweet Home by just horsn_around: Mia sat on a large tack box and watched the bay pony gallop in the pasture next door. She sighed. "Mia! Get your head out of the clouds and come in for dinner!" her mother Terry called from the mesh door to the house. Mia stood up and looked over her shoulder to see the beautiful horse. The sun was going down, and the sunset was darkening so she knew she wouldn't have much longer to see it. ~ "The show went great!" said Mia's dad. "Sasha won two seconds and a first." Mia picked at her mashed potatoes and stared at her boots. "Take your shoes off in the house." Terry had said, but Mia had simply just walked through the door. "I just wish Mia would have come to watch." her sister sounded disappointed. "Tams' been doing well. I think." said Mia changing the subject. Tam was what she called the bay. "You should stay away from that horse. We don't know it." "I won't Mom." ~ The next day Mia waited until her family was distracted with the new horse that her father had bought, to walk down the fence lining the paddock all the way to the shrub in-between her yard and the neighbor's. She found a hole, most likely made by Bosco, her sister's horse when he bolted yesterday after he got home, and went through. ~ Mia gasped and put her hand over her mouth. She had made it to the stall Tam stayed in at the neighbor's barn. "Oh my goodness!" Up close her dream horse was thin and weak. She looked like she had not been fed in days! Mia found some grain and a curry comb and rushed into the horse's stall. Tam dipped her nose into the food Mia brought and Mia started away at Tam's coat. She didn't care if she got found, her only thought was the horse. ~ Mia ran back up to her house and grabbed her phone then hurried down to the barn her parents in tow. She called the police while Terry videoed the scene. Her father was looking over the horse when the cops showed up. The horse’s terrible owner was in the barn whipping Tam and trying to get his horse from Mia’s dad. “Excuse me. Which of you owns this abused horse?” interrupted the cop. “I own the thing, but this man is trying to take him sir.” said the other man. “I’m afraid sir that you can no longer have this horse for you are abusing the animal and that is against the law. It is my duty to find new loving homes for abused animals.” he replied emphasizing the word loving. “We will keep her sir,” said Mia without thinking. The officer looked at her father. “I don’t see why not.” said her dad. ~ Now Tam is well fed and lives safely in a roomy stall in Mia’s family’s barn. She is well cared for and has a name plate that says, Tam. When ever Mia tells the story of how she saved her she always ends the tale with,”and now she’s Home Sweet Home.”

The mustangs -By Arnora.

Lori was on a horse, her favorite horse in the world, a appaloosa called Apple. Lori gazed at the mustangs in the Gold Canyon. She lived in Nevada where people came to see the wild horses. She knew Apple had once been one of them, raceing wild across the
range, not knowing saddle and bridle or rider. Apple, she knew, would not race to join them if she was on his back. Suddenley Lori wonderd what a mustang felt like when it was gentled. Lori did not know what it felt like. After all, she was not a horse . But Apple was. "Mustangs should get to come home to the range like people do,"she said to Apple quietly. "They should be considered as people of their own kind. People destroy animal habitat, but if horses are considerd people we will not destroy their natural habitat. People should at least try."She began to think of a plan to save the mustangs as she rode home.
Two days later her plan was in action for her small town. It began to spread very quickly to other towns.Day after day it spread more and more, quicker and quicker as days, weeks, months passed by.
No roundups were going to happen anytime soon. Lori was on her way to saving the mustngs forever!

Horses-By Arnora
The horses were grazing in a grassy field."Humans! We have done nothing to aggravate them and yet they round us up.We will evade them and eventually they will see who is boss around here!" A bay whinnied, stamping his hoof."We agree!"All his herdmates whinnied back in response to his statement."Let us find the weakness of humans.they hate to be embarrassed in front of their own kind, so when they get on our backs and ask us to walk we will not walk we will immediately begin trotting and we will be of no use to them. Is that a good plan???" "Yes" said his herd mates. The very next day the plan was in action. It worked very well. Horses are very smart.

Barrels in Blue Part 1

I felt the soft, buttery leather saddle beneath me before I felt the air separate me from it. I went up, up, up in the air, seeing the faces of my mom, dad, and Emily before coming to a crash on the ground. That's when everything went black. I woke up in the hospital room, Emily sitting in the seat beside my bed. She jumps from her seat, hugging me "You're awake, Jake!". The IV pulls against me, trying to get out. "Hey sis, you're hugging me a little hard! How is Blue?" She pulls away, smiling. Blue was my horse, we do barrel racing. "Sorry! Blue is fine, he just has a bruised ankle." I sigh a relief, he's better off than me at least.

Horses Can Do All That

Birds can fly
Birds can soar
But a horse can do all that
And more

Cheetahs can run
Cheetahs can leap
But a horse can do all that
With someone in their seat

Dogs can be friends
Dogs can be pets
But a horse can do all that
Without breaking a sweat

Alone
Part 3
By: Wind drummer

I stared as horse and rider rode as one down the old track and then vanished. “Come on, let’s go,” I said to Gem and we rode away. When we got back, the stable hand was there. “Victoria! You are late”. Those words stung. He kept going. “I told you to be back before 5:00 Miss Tori. I trusted you to take care of Gem. I did Tori and now I am sorry I ever let you touch my horses!” “Ok ok, whatever Mr Touchy. I’m off to go riding with Gem some more. Care to tag along?” I retorted. His face couldn’t have gotten any more red than it did and before he could say a single word we were off. Free.

When I got back it was late so I climbed up the stairs to my dorm and fell fast asleep.

In the morning I got up, dressed and made my way down to breakfast. As I sat down a girl came over and greeted me with a big smile. “Hey! What was your name again? How long have you been here? The horses are the best right?” I smiled at this treatment. “Oh, hi there. I’m Tori. I’ve been here for a while. I know. I love them all.” I felt crazy. Like I was famous or something. What had I done to get this? “Cool. Well I’d better get going. See you around.” She winked at me then went off to sit at Aria’s table. Well. At least she said something to me.

“Aria?” “Present” “Alice?” “Present” “Bella?” “Present”. The roll continued and I only looked up when she neared the end of the list. “Solita?” No one spoke. “Solita?” I looked up. Solita?! All was quiet then near the back someone spoke. “Present miss”. Everyone looked up. I stared at the black haired girl. Solita! That’s her!

After class and the next class and the next, it was time for lunch. I walked past the tables until I could see one that was empty. I sat down and looked around me. It was noisy and the sound of chatter, munching and tables being dragged around. I opened my lunch and began to eat. Alone.

After lunch we had PE. It should have been fun, but it wasn’t. It was noisy and we ware swimming. Not fun swimming with diving and the like. But boring swimming with teachers, butterfly and perfect position. Not fun at all.
I mean it was fun in a way. We had to do laps but we got to dive. It was just that I wanted to find out more about Toahawk. Who was he? Was he Solita’s horse? Why was he even named Toahawk?

As I went to bed that night I wondered. Why was Solita’s name on the roll call? So many questions and so little answers. I finally understood that expression. For once.

The next day for PE we had riding. I walked up to Gem’s stall but someone was already there. “Hi” I said. “Umm I always choose Gem. He’s my favorite.” Why did I have to say that?! “I mean we have a strong bond with each other.” “Oh right” She looked at me. “Well if you have a bond…….” She ran her fingers down his mane. “Sure! I choose Gem for no good reason. Storm is just as good. If not better.” She winked at me. “Bye!” I called. Well. At least someone at this school is nice. I started to groom Gem but I found there wasn’t a brush in the grooming box. Someone tossed one over. “Here you go! I had an extra one.” Well. Maybe two people.

I had a great time with Gem but after three hours of riding I was tired. I went to bed really early that night.

In the morning I woke up, got dressed and went off to the stables. “Hey boy! I’m sorry we didn’t talk to each other much last night. I’ve been trying to make friends but…...” I sighed. “They just…. I can’t do it!” I sobbed into gem’s mane. “Boy? You are all I’ve got left. Well except for Solita. She was amazing and you liked Toahawk. They were the perfect pair. They are I mean. I could never live up to that. Up to her. I love you Gem. You are the best horse ever!”
