I thought I didn't like you,
Compared to other ones,
You seemed so simple, so blue,
But then I saw you as you are,
And I realized you're just you,
You showed me what you could do,
And now I do like you

Sophie pressed her face against Gretal's dappled neck.
"Oh, girl, I'm gonna miss you." Just thinking about it made her burst into tears. Gretal had been her best friend. Sophie had raised her from a foal, the beautiful dark brown Thoroughbred with a heart on her forehead and a light nose. She had take her to Championships last year, and won.
"What will I do without you?" she murmured, running her fingers through the silky mane that was the dark brown as her own hair. Sophie's dad had been laid off, and found another job in the city. They were moving, and Gretal couldn't come. "You're the best horse ever, and I'll never forget you." Gretal was being given to one of her friends, so if she came to visit she could see her, but it wouldn't be the same. She was pulled out of her thoughts by the loud sounding of a horn. She slowly shut the door to the stall, kissed Gretal one more time, and headed into the house.
That night, at dinner, she was sullenly picking at her steak, when her dad surprise her.
"Guess what?" he cheerfully asked.
"Your mother and I have been talking, and decided to stay here. I've found another job nearby."
Sophie looked up in amazement. She couldn't breathe, she was so happy. Without saying another word, she got up and ran to the stable. Gretal's head was sticking out of her stall, and Sophie threw her arms around her neck.
"Oh girl, I love you."

~The Foal~
Once upon a time
in a small town in
Connecticut called Wiggins
there were 3 friends Pam Crandal,
Lulu Sanders, and Anna Harley. They
all had a pony. Acorn belonged to Anna
Snow white belonged to Lulu, and Lightning
belonged to Pam. One Sunday morning the Pony Pals
where going on a all day trail ride on the Wiggins Estate trails. They were passing a boulder in the middle of the trail. The trail was beyond a field that was behind Ms.Wiggins barn. Then Acorn heard a soft weak whinny. Nobody else heard it. As soon as Acorn heard the whinny he galloped the rest of the way to the field. Anna knew something was wrong so she did not try to stop him. When they got to the field Pam and Lulu were behind them. The Pony Pals dismounted and saw a little newborn Shetland foal stuck in a thorny bush. The Pony pals tied their ponies to a tree and walked over. The foal was not scared. He was more eager to get out. Then Lulu said "Let me get him out. I have done this sort of thing when Snow White was tangled in Barbed Wire. Pam you call your dad". Ok Pam agreed.
Lulu eventually got him out. Then Dr.Crandal arrived. "This little fellow has no broken bones but he has a lot of scratches. So it will take him about 4 weeks to recover". Said Dr.Crandal.
Dr.Crandal took him to the Animal Clinic and put him in his new stall to recover. About 3-and-a-half weeks past when Dr.Crandal said "We will keep him here for another week. You girls have helped him recover so nicely. Sadly this foal has been abandoned by his mother. So we might have him as our new foal until he grows up". "No we won't" Said Pam. "We won't"! Said Dr.crandal, Lulu, and Anna said together. "No we won't". Pam repeted. "I know who can adopt him next week"! Pam exclaimed. "Who"! Exclaimed Anna. "There is this girl named Eve. I forgot where she lives but I have her telephone number. I will call her now". Said Pam. "Wait"! Yelled Lulu. "Why would she want a foal"? Asked Lulu. Because she has a horse named Crystal. And crystals foal died a few days ago when it was born So Eve has been looking for a replacement foal so crystal won't get too confused". Pam explained. "That is so sad" Said Anna. "Go call her now". Lulu said.
After pam left Dr.Crandal said. "That foal is so lucky you found him. If those thorns had cut any deeper he would have died". "That's it"! Exclaimed Lulu. "What's it"? Anna asked. "We should name him Lucky"! Said Lulu. "That's a great name"! Said a voice behind them. It was Pam! "And Eve is coming to pick up Lucky next Saturday at 10:A.M". Said Pam. "Yes"! Said the Pony Pals in unison. A week past and the Pony Pals were saying their last good-byes to Lucky and Eve. As Eve lead Lucky into the trailer and got into the car Pam yelled "Bye Eve" "Have a nice trip home". Yelled Lulu. "See you soon". Anna said.
As Eve and her family drove off Riddle Road the Pony Pals hit high fives and yelled "All right"! "Now lets go on a trail ride" Said Anna. "absolutely". Said Lulu.
As they galloped along Pony Pal Trail Pam could not stop thinking about Lucky and how they saved his life.

Gretal
by HorseEden

They say you're kind of crazy, girl,
But I know better
They say you're a crazy horse,
When you're just fresher
They say you're not worth anything,
When I would give my life,
I you were just mine, girl,
Without any strife

Chapter 2, part 2
by Adeline HC

They finished, both huffing and puffing. “You know, we really should have grown out of that,” Amy said. “I am not in good enough shape.”
Jenny laughed. “I can tell.”
Amy started poking her.
“Ow! Okay, okay, enough!” Jenny laughed. “Let’s go see this horse already.”
Together, they found the beautiful mare in a paddock with Wanda scratching the mare’s neck. The mare looked absolutely blissful.
“Isn’t she just the prettiest thing?” Wanda gushed.
Jenny had to agree. The mare was pretty gorgeous. “Why has she been hidden for so long? You’d think they’d be eager to get her out on the showing circuit.”
Amy shrugged. “Don’t know. The owners have a lot on their plates apparently, and they just never had the time for her.”
“Yeah, I guess. But, man, I would have totally started her before now.” Jenny admitted.
“True, but what’s in the past is in the past. In the meantime, we have this beautiful girl to work with.” Amy smiled.
“She is, isn’t she?” Wanda cooed.
Jenny climbed the fence and hopped into the paddock. “What’s her name?” she asked as she let the mare sniff her.
“Lady Jewel.” Amy answered.
“Pretty. She registered?”
“Yup. She’s in an Arabian cross registry.” Amy said.
“Nice.”
They admired the mare a moment longer. She’s gonna be so fun to train, Jenny thought. She had long, slender legs. He head was a tad bigger than that of an Arabian, but she had the high head carriage of the Arabian, and high set tail. Jenny wondered what her other half was.
“Where’s Saige?” Amy asked Wanda.
“I think she’s doing some groundwork with Jiggs.” She said.
Jenny looked up. “We just came from the pastures. Jiggs was still there.”
“Hmm,” Wanda shrugged. “Maybe she’s in the barn office.”
“You’re just guessing, aren’t you?”
Wanda blushed. “Yes, but I do remember her saying she needed to teach Jiggs some manners.”
“That should be fun to watch. Jiggs is always pulling goofy stunts, and Saige won’t put up with much. It will be satisfying to finally see Jiggs behave himself.” Jenny giggled.
“Oh yeah!” Amy nodded.
“Let’s go watch, then,” Wanda suggested.
They all agreed.

Goodbye
by Adeline HC

The dark green honda hummed as it was driven up the long, dirt driveway. A row of small pines were on our left, and an open field on our right. But we were looking ahead. At the horses and ponies, of assorted colors and shapes. They were such a good sight.
My sister and I were here to test ride three horses. One of them could be an addition to our herd, but we weren't sure yet, so we needed to try them out. There were two apricot dun geldings, and a sorrel gelding. All three were Quarter horses. The owner had spoken highly of one of the duns.
My sister rode that dun, and I rode the sorrel first.
The sorrel was a little rusty with responding to my aids, but I worked through it. He wasn't the smoothest horse I'd ever ridden, though. We rode for a while, and then we switched mounts.
I sat astride the big, tall dun. He was calm and responsive under my touch. His walk was long and extending. His trot was big and bouncy. But his canter was strong, bold and smooth. I was pleased. I pulled up beside my sister and the sorrel.
"This is a nice gelding," I said.
"Yeah, I know," she said. Then she looked around furtively. "But, he's 2,500."
"Well, that's not bad for how nice he is," I admitted.
"Yeah." My sister looked at the horse again. "He's nice," she said, nodding.
After that, I rode the other dun. He was said to be the "racer". Now I know that's true. Of course, he waited for me to let him out, and was satisfied to listen to whatever I asked of him. But, when I asked for a canter, his speed continued to increase. I was blazing down the field, and his gate was not at all comfortable.
It took some doing, but pace by pace, I slowed the eager gelding down, laughing.
"You are a fast one, aren't you? That sure was an experience," I chuckled.
We left that day both agreeing that the calmer dun, named Doc, was the ideal choice in a mount. But, due to tight funds, we never did get around to buying him. We were waiting for the money to come in. It came, but not soon enough.
We went back to the home of the three geldings, and saw that the sorrel and calmer dun were no longer there.
We asked the owner if he had sold the dun.
"Oh, yeah, um..." he hesitated.
Somethings wrong, I thought. The man looked close to tears.
"Well, uh, he broke his leg last night. We called a lot of vets, but no one could come," he said.
"Oh no! That's awful! I'm so sorry!" I quickly told him.
"Yeah. I just think that if we'd sold him to you sooner, he would be okay and in a good home," he sniffed.
Guilt and sadness twisted inside of me. We should have bought the gelding, I thought, but money got in the way. I sighed. Great, now I would feel sad for the rest of the day.
He really had been a good gelding. It feels weird to know that a horse I had ridden and enjoyed was now inanimate and lifeless. Having and wanting horses in rough, but I can't imagine a life without them.
Now, after experiencing such a thing, I know I shouldn't hesitate to buy a horse I think that is worth it and needs a home. I will keep my eyes open, and give my love to any needy animal I see. It's all I can give, and that's all they need. Love.
Goodbye, sweet dun, Doc. You showed me a valuable lesson. You did not die in vain. Goodbye.

hi this is a poem made by me

Colors
by Wenilyy

You can feel dark sometimes and worried
like the hole world is black and quiet but the colors are always there no matter how black everything seems the colors are still always there comforting us. The sky the wind the sea everything is always colored. colors make everything more special just like when your drawing on a peas of paper. In the beginning its boring and nothing speciall about it but when you start to draw on the white simple paper whit blue pink green red and all the outer colors it becomes speciall it gets a soul a meaning. Thank you colors for existing.

Sorry im not that good at english :(
