Flamekit-OKay, Mama. *curls up by his mother's warm stomach and closes his eyes*
ICefur-*picks up Pinekit roughly and pads into the nursery. CUrls his fluffy white tail around Icekit and pulls the small blue-white kitten after him*
FLameheart-*sighs and watches the deputy disappear* ya know, Sunsetpaw, I used to be like FLamekit. Beat up, rejected. My mother was nice, but I think she liked the other kits better. SHe was ashamed of me. Never thought I'd amount to much. *stretches his legs and the muscles in his shoulders ripple beneath his ginger skin* I guess she was wrong.

Starburst - *pads up and licks Whitewinter's face.*
Streamkit - Dad!
Currentkit - No! When we are apprentices we have to call him Starburst!
Starburst - Yes. *he nods at Rosethorn.*
Rosethorn - *starts to get up, but Windpelt comes loping over.*
Windpelt - *purrs at Rosethorn.* Hi.
Rosethorn - *gets up, and stands beside Windpelt, her belly big.* Come, we must tell Pinestar.
Windpelt - *walks beside Rosethorn, licking her ears as she walks.*
Rosethorn - *flicks her ears and ducks her head as she nears Pinestar.* Pinestar? I'm sorry, I can't be a warrior right now. *she glances at her belly.* I need to be staying in the nursery. |

Moonglow-*gets up to pads over to Icefur, curling he tail around Pinekit and Icekit, drawing them nearer* Children, don't be rude.
Icekit-*puffs out his chest proudly, his fur tips gleaming pale blue in the sunlight* I'm a apprentice!
Moonglow-*sighs and rolls her eyes* AN apprentice, dear.
Pinekit-*blinks her eyes* Papa, Mama, play with me!
Icekit-What about me?
Pinekit-You can play with me. I'll be an elder, and you can b the apprentice who brings me fresh-kill, changes out my bedding, checks me for ticks and fleas, and clears away my dirt!
Icekit-No! You'e the apprentice!
Pinekit-I'm the elder!
Icekit-Apprentice! I'M the elder!

PInepaw-SHe may be in shock, to thyme, right? And for wounds, cobweb, marigold and goldenrod for infections and bad wounds, poppy for pain, juniper for bellyache, and and mallow for . . . bones?
Icefur-No, not at all. *purrs* I've mentored blind cats before. Petalpool was my apprentice. SHe's in StarClan now, but she was blind. COme on, let's g look around the border, and I'll get you used to the territory, so it will be easer for you to walk-comfortably.

I don't know if Pinestar knew or not but I'm glad I'm a thorn now. I have picked out names for them, Lily, Rose, Poppy, and Mari, short for Marigold. I hope her name will be Marigold. Their father is Windpelt.

There is one bad thin about being a thorn, you pull thorns out of her pads, and throw it away, that's what my - I mean Pineclan has done with me. Can I join you? |
