It was just a suggestion. I thought I saw father the other day. . . . Redfeather-WHAT? You saw my Moss? Where! Where'd ya see him? Never mind just take me there! Pineshade-Mother, what about WIndCLan's rabbits? Redfeather-jumps up and slaps Pineshade in the face with her tail tip Son, WIndClan ain't skinny for nothing! They can survive a little while more! Redfeather-It's Redfeather now, Moss. THis is our son, Pineshade. Moss-PIneshade. A sturdy name for a handsome lad. Pineshade, son, it is very good to see you. You don't know what this means to me. PIneshade-stares solemnly at his father, frowning, emotionless I think I do, father. Redfeather-Well, son! What are you waiting for, go welcome your father! Moss-Yes, son, it will do me good to- Pineshade-I'm sorry father, mother, but I don't really understand how you could just run off and leave us all alone in the middle of the woods, while Redfeather had greencough and I was half-starved and unable to hunt for either of us, and still come back with a clear conscience. Please explain how you're able to feel guiltless. I'd love to use the technique. Who knows, maybe I'll have a mate and kit that I can leave alone in the forest with foxes and badgers.
