Gus
By 9433651

you run for the school bus
but before you stop to see Gus
Gus is your horse
of course

you don't want to be at school
you want to see Gus
but no horses allowed
its a rule

then you come home
in your room you roam
then you remember Gus
the last time you saw him was before the bus

you run outside
you fling the barn door open wide
you find him there
and at his beauty you stare

Riding in the field.
a poem by flutteshy.

A beautiful summer morning anything but boring. Saying hi and brushing makes time go by. Mounting the horse brings such a force. First at a walk then a trot then a canter up at the top.running high up then down up then down makes a frown turn upside down.

Sun Pegasus
By Starlitluna

Have you ever heard the myth
Of a flamed horse with wings?
That it was once wild,
But tamed, by the fiery sun
And in turn tamed by him?

Ah, I see that you do not know,
And so it falls to me.
To tell you of a fiery tale,
where Pegasus met the Sun,
And where She tamed Him alone.

In the times of myth and magic
There was a hero named Perseus.
When he slayed Medusa the Gorgon,
From her blood
Sprang two forms.

One was snowy white.
He opened his wings,
And snorted, silver breath misting,
He flew away to the sapphire sky,
But his story is not mine to tell.

The other was a She,
And different, as the day to night.
Her hooves, afire with flames
Her wings, with glorious, golden feathers
Her eyes twin amber jewels.

She flew away, like her brother,
But she took to hiding in the mountains,
Where earth was cool
And caves will soothe
Her fire that burned so fierce.

Untamed, she will gallop
Through the lands, once in a hundred years
And when she steps out of her cool abode
The lands will suffer wildfires,
From her hooves aflame.

And once, she looked up to the sky,
And glimpsed, for the first time,
The fiery globe of fire burning
Fierce, untamed, immortal, like her
The proud Sun shining in the sky.

And then she looked,
To the ground once more,
And saw,
To her horror,
The people suffering.

Too fierce, too wild, like her,
The Sun burned far too bright.
And the heat,
Scorched the lands
And blackened it to ashes.

She spread her glorious golden wings
And flew to the sun itself.
Alighting on a cloud
She saw, to her wonder
An orb of pure, unbridled fire.

His topaz eyes were fierce,
Twin orbs of burning coal
Sitting on his throne of fire
He glared at her with contempt.
She approached him with haughty steps.

"My lord, see not the destruction
You've wrecked on the lands?
See not the fires that burn
The crops of the people?"
She looked at him proudly in the eyes.

He glared back at her.
"Lady, the fires that burn
Were not purely mine.
Thyself have done a good part
With thy hooves of fire."

She reared,
Hooves striking the clouds
"Nay, my lord.
Thy words I cannot believe.
For I saw with my own eyes."

His eyes burned with anger.
"Lady, does thy know?
As you gallop across the land
The embers from your hooves
Catch fire in the dry grass."

She ruffled her feathers
Annoyed by the words.
"Ever does thy words
Point that others are wrong
And thyself are right.

Yea, I do admit
Wildfires burn brighter
every hundredth year
But as I glance down every day
I see the land black and burned."

He lowered his eyes,
Shamed by her words.
"Forgive me, lady
My words do me shame.
But I cannot control my own fires."

She walks closer,
Her head lifted proudly.
"Neither can I, my lord.
But together, we will tame
The fires that once burned fierce."

With her wings of glorious gold
She lifted the Sun,
fiery orb and all
onto her strong, golden back
The flames burned her not.

And so, ever since
She has carried the Sun upon her wings.
From dawn to dusk,
She galloped across the sky
Taking joy in her freedom.

And since that day,
Their fires were tamed
Cooled, bridled, controlled
The land flourished
Under the gentle light.

And here does this story end
And now you know the truth
Of the Pegasus and the Sun
And how they tamed each other.
The ending dissolving into myths.

Yup, another freestyle. Unfortunately, I won't be entering stories for this month. Don't have the time to write the second part of 'Brumby Tale' out, as exams are just around the corner. Sorry if this one's a bit under my usual form as I threw this together in the last minute...just hope that you'll like it.
