Spook Forest By Alyssa

There was a forest called Spook Forest. Nobody EVER went in it because eerie noises came out of it, and the people who went in it never came out. But three girls called Lucy, Amy and Natasha started to wonder about what it would be like to go in there.

Where should we ride today? Lucy said to Amy and Natasha.

How about going to spook forest said Amy.

Is it okay with you Natasha?

Sure said Natasha. But deep down inside she was scared.

Then they saddled up and rode to spook forest. When they got there a rustling sound came from inside the forest. Then another sound came that scared Natasha most.

You are about to enter my forest. I say get out! If you enter you will perish in here and NEVER come out!

Natasha wanted to ride away.

Let’s go said Natasha as she turned Nutmeg around.

No yelled Lucy and moved Lucky in front of Nutmeg.

I know you’re scared Natasha, but something seems funny about that voice. I’ll tell you what. You can ride on Lucky with me. Amy will lead Nutmeg while she’s riding Angel.

Natasha dismounted Nutmeg and gave him to Amy. Then Lucy helped Natasha onto Lucky.

Whenever you’re scared just squeeze me said Lucy.

Okay said Natasha.

When they entered the forest Lucy felt a squeeze. Why did you do that she said.

I’m just nervous said Natasha. Lucy looked over at her friend. She looked pale.

I see something in the trees said Amy.

It looks like wood said Lucy.

Natasha just nodded. She was too scared to speak.

Lucy noticed that Natasha didn’t stop squeezing her. They rode up to the tree with the wood on it.

Hey, somebody left a tape recorder and a note here said Amy.

Let’s see what the tape recorder says said Lucy.

The tape said the same thing that they heard when they first came in.

Let’s read the note now said Amy. This is what it said:

Monday, July 15, 2007 Dear People, This is my clubhouse. I am 11 years old. The tape over there is my voice. I made it because my fort is secret and I don’t want people coming in here. There are towns on each side of the forest. from Jamie.

See Natasha, there’s nothing to be afraid of said Lucy.

Okay, you’re right said Natasha.

Let’s go up and look at the fort said Amy.

The fort was a big empty room with a brown tile floor and purple walls.

How about we make this our official clubhouse and meeting place said Lucy.

My dad can help us design it said Amy. He designs peoples’ houses.

Then they rode back and went inside Amy’s house and talked to her dad. He did a drawing of what the clubhouse would look like. Then he packed up his things and went with the girls to the clubhouse. While Amy’s dad worked on the clubhouse they played with their ponies.

We should think of a name for us and the clubhouse said Natasha.

How about Pet Pals? Said Lucy.

That’s good said Amy. And Pet Pal’s Place for the clubhouse she said.That is what it’s called.

We should make a paddock for the ponies and a shelter for the tack and food said Natasha.

Good idea said Lucy.

Then they found some wood and nails and got busy building the fence and shelter.

I think we should paint the fence white said Amy. I’ll go and get some paint.

While Amy was gone Lucy and Natasha started making a sign that said Pet Pal’s Place with animal heads around the words. Amy came back and they painted the fence. Then they finished the sign.

Amy’s dad came out of the clubhouse. I installed some lights for you he said. They said thank you.

They put the ponies in the paddock because they were having a sleepover there. The ponies whinnied as if to say we like it here!
