Title: All Hail the Queen
By: Horsesforever12

~One horse. One breath. One life. One love.~

*Tale number 1*

If Hades was a type of emotion, it was clearly shimmering in the pale horse's eyes. You could almost see her skin shivering with blood thirsty enlightenment. Every muscle under her glimmering skin rumbled with potential attack. The dusky auburn sun made the mare's pale yellow coat look like a bouquet of Evening Primroses. Her ears flickered like airy butterfly wings; her nostrils fluttered with every breath that rushed into her lungs.

"Will you not make your move? Admit it, young filly. You are afraid." the stallion's voice broke the silence as if a stone had been cast into a motionless pool. His words were spoken in a mundane, vicious tone and taunted her pride. He side-stepped, his giant body glowing a formidable dappled gray color. His amber eyes teased her and looked down upon her with disdain.

"How dare you speak such words to a princess!" the filly roared, her tongue flying faster than a dandy fly's wings.

"Ah, but don't you see? I just did." the stallion retorted, his shining black hooves cleverly twisting around the younger horse's body as he circled her like a hungry jaguar. The princess dove at him, her every quivering muscle giving pursuit with rightful anger. But her unmistakably long legs and unpracticed skills led her to a rather shameful downfall. The stallion, in the end, towered above her; his face a picture of sheer pride and disgust. Then he trotted off with a manner of achieved satisfaction. The young mare stood, gazed into the setting sun, and sighed.

"What has happened to me? Rousing with RebelHorses, jousting with criminals. Have I forsaken myself somehow and become another...?" the horse sighed once more as the fiery glowing sun disappeared behind the blue mountains in a wondrous egress. In return, the humble yet grim mountainside turned an awfully shameful shadowed color, causing the sky behind it to resume his once beautiful hue. Though the evening was like no other, it's blissful existence swept the young horse away to another evening...another day...another life.

~*~

"Amira! Must you always tarry? Life is not a pleasure ride, you know." the tall mare's brown eyes glowed with annoyance. The little cream-colored filly flicked her tail, as if to prolong her mother's anger.

"I did not tarry, ma'am."

"Don't talk back! You know you did, Amira, and you're not helping the situation by lying."

Amira breathed in sharply and rolled her eyes. So what? She had taken her time in meeting the stupid Ambassador of Prance^. She didn't see what the big deal was. She was only a yearling, anyway. What did one foal mean to anyone important?

"I didn't see the point in meeting some stuck-up 'Roi D'un Bel Endroit^^.'" Amira protested. The Queen let a snort^^^.

"How dare you say such a thing! You are the daughter of the king of Great Bitain and you hold a royal responsibility!" she gushed, stamping her hoof on the granite floor of the throne room for effect. Amira only shrugged. The queen sighed.

"I don't get you, Amira. You're different from any other horse in the kingdom. What your life will turn out to be...only Heaven knows." with a tisk of her tongue the older horse turned to her throne, leaving a small filly to never forget those words.

***SNEAK PEAK FOR NEXT TIME IN TALE NUMBER 2***

Amira rushed at him, all four hooves ready to attack. But a resounding giggle showed that she only meant to play. The young black colt galloped at her in pursuit. In the end, the two found themselves sprawled on the grass, smiling and staring at the blue sky. Efreas turned to Amira and became sober. "Do you love me, Amira?" he asked. Amira felt her cheeks flush crimson but she quickly ignored the feeling. She must do what Kiris had told her to do. "Well, to be honest, I'm not sure what love is."

***See You Next Time!***

(NOTE: In this story you might of noticed I did not put the word "Chapter" for the first part of my story I put the word "Tale". I like it better this way and it sounds original. ENJOY!)
(IF you saw one of these: "^" in the story, it means something. Here is what they mean: ^= France. In this story, some famous places like France or Britain are replaced with horse terms like "Prance" or "Bit-ain" to give it a different taste. ^^= "King of a fine place" in French. ^^^= in the Queen's place, a gasp.)

Change Part 4
By AuthorToBe

I open my eyes and stare up at my ceiling. Something is different, something isn't right. And then I hear it. A long, high, drawn out whinny. And I remember. I sit bold upright in my bed and throw off my covers. Quickly, I change into my old jeans and a stained tee shirt. I run downstairs, tugging my socks on over my feet and then shove my feet into my new black muckboots. I race down the trail to my barn and there they are. In the stall closest to the door is Good-bye, and the stall across from it holds the pure white Fly. I mix their feed and pour it into their bucket. While they eat, I get a grooming kit, bottle of fly spray and a halter. I also grab the horses' fly sheets and fly masks. When I come back to the horses stalls, they're done eating. I halter Good-bye and lead her to the cross ties.

"First day back to school! I can't wait to see my friends and find out what they did for spring break!" I squeal, flicking a soft brush over Good-bye's dust-free jet black coat. "And I can't wait to tell my friend Amy that I have a horse!" I finish de-tangling Good-bye's mane and tail and wrap her in a hug. "Alright. Let's get you in the pasture."

After I get both horses groomed, fly protected and in the pasture, I run back to my room and change into a pair of white crops and a denim button down shirt with pearly white snap buttons. I slip on my silver ballet flats and fix my hair and makeup. With a finish run through with a brush, I swing my backpack on and run to my bus stop. As I run down my driveway, I hear a whinny. I look to my right and see Good-bye cantering beside me, racing me to my bus. I smile and look ahead, to where the bus would be waiting.

So sorry it took so long! I've been busy with school starting myself. I'm thinking about making a branch-off of this series and making this the last part. PM me what you think! Hope you enjoyed!

Title: The Little River
By: Horsesforever12

Like a mirror
The little river
Turned a blissful blue

Then with a shiver
The little river
Turned a glorious hue

All the leaves
From the trees
Changed their expression

And with a quiver
The little river
Took their impression

Then he lay quite still
With a soundless chill
And welcomed the fall

Then a noise could be heard
Of a wild herd
And a stallion proud and tall

With unbridled pleasure
All the horses together
Splashed into the river

Then quick as they had come
They had all gone
And left the little river

A New Beginning
chapter one: My first breath
by: Jannah Rose

I Drew a deep breath through my nostrils the air was damp and cold the grass beneath my was long and itchy it scratched my side. I grunted as I used all of the power I had to force myself to my feet my legs felt wobbly and were too long my body was too big for my head and my ears stuck out like a sore thumbs. I nickered to my mother. She was the first thing that I could see everything else was blurry her shape slowly came to view I blinked my eyes until I could see her, she was a beautiful cremello mare. She carefully groomed me,first grooming my mane and then my neck and my back. I was starving so I quickly found out how to suckle. When she was finished my coat was a shiny bay tobiano. I shivered night was coming and it was getting cold so I decided to lay down in the grass my legs were getting tired and sore. I was small enough that the tall grass hid me perfectly my mother stood next to me watching me. I looked up at the sky, black and full of wonderful things my mother told me they were called stars...such wonderful things.

Palomino With A Heart Of Gold
Written By ameliabrenes5

The gold Palomino reared a farewell,
Her name, is Bell.

Bell turned and galloped towards the forest,
She left, her heart true and honest.

Gracefully she leaped a creek and shook her creamy mane,
Her beauty looks beautiful as it starts to rain.

Her heart is pure Gold!
She stops at a hill and with one last look,
She disappears, her heart of Gold with her.

Winter Horse
Written by Giggi22

THIS IS FOR SEPTEMBER 2014 STORY CONTEST

CHAPTER ONE

Last Christmas there was problem with the weather. Rain, rain and more rain. So I fancied staying inside. I got my hobby horse Honey and my cowgirl hat then pretended I was riding her (Honey) in the wild west of America in the summer. I pretended to herd cattle and go riding near streams and lakes. I was disturbed for game when I was told to get out my Christmas cake I had made and cut a peace for each of us for whilst we watched a Christmas movie. I cut the cake and sat on the cosy sofa with a blanket and hot water bottle with me.
When the movie finished I went to the kitchen and made some gingerbread men whilst my mum made large cups of hot chocolate, hmmm… lovely. Mum said I could squirt the cream and put in the marshmallows on the hot chocolate. Great, thanks mum.
You couldn’t get better than that, eating gingerbread men and drinking hot chocolate whilst sitting by the fire toasting marshmallows. Well, you could, when horse riding. I watched the fire as it danced and swirled, twisted and twirled. It was beautiful. Dad came down with the wreath. “Time to decorate the wreath” he called. We went over to the Christmas decorating box and looked at the leftover tree decorations. As my brother took that box down I got out the box that we collect holly leafs and berries in. Luckley the rain had stopped and the sun was piercing through the clouds, so we could go and collect the holly leafs.
We went over to the holly bush down the street and found great holly leafs and berries. We put them the box and then we started home collecting other winter plants on the way. When we got home my brother helped me decorate the wreath.
When the wreath was done and hung on the door we went over to the wharf tea room on the canal. The sunset looked so beautiful on the canal, orange and calm. They had a band playing Christmas carols there. It was so much fun; we all had a drink whilst we listened. With some songs the audience sang along to, including:
Jingle bells, we three kings, away in a manger (after I sang a solo of the first verse!), Noel, Joy to the world and lots of others (I can’t remember them all!).
When we all went away we were each given a small present. I knew the owner very well, and she knew me very well, so I got something that she knew I’d like.
When I opened it I put it on my window sill. It was a horse ornament. I wrote the owner of the wharf tea room on my list of people to give a thank you letter to.
When the evening came we shot of some beautiful fireworks and then went to bed with a hot water bottle and a croissant. I looked forward to tomorrow, as the weather forecast said it was going to rain.

END OF CHAPTER ONE!!! TO BE CONTINUED!!!

Getting my first horse
by jjpals

hi there I am a 15 year old horse lover and my dad owns a horse riding and training facility, but I would like to share with you all the story of how I got my first horse, Pepsi.

it is Wednesday, may 25th, 20 days after my 12th birthday, 1:00 in the afternoon and I have just finished cleaning out my 6th stall, since I promised my friend: Annie, to go on a ride with her I quickly put away the “barrow and fork” and hurry to groom Happie, a thoroughbred chestnut 7 year old gelding who I ride a lot, he seems like my own horse but does not like Eventing which I like and he is also used as a lesson horse so I wouldn’t be able to use him as my own horse. As soon as Happie is groomed, tacked up and ready, I strap on my helmet and grab a water bottle for the ride, then I meet up with Annie and her horse, Destiny a black thoroughbred mare, 6 years of age. Once Annie and I mount up we gathered reins and then did exercises while Happie and destiny walked on at a brisk pace, then we slipped our feet into stirrups and started talking about our dreams, horses, school, siblings, and other such nonsense that horse crazy girls talk about. As we walk to the arena we feel the cool spring breeze on our faces, I sigh contentedly and Happie snorts as a fly lands on his muzzle, destiny swishes her tail and I guide Happie into the arena where I check the girth and tighten the reins as I nudge with my heels and Happie glides into a collected balanced trot and Annie on destiny follow but destiny, eager to overtake Happie breaks into a canter, and Annie slows her down to a controlled trot. After we warm up and do dressage we head out to a nearby empty pasture with cross-country jumps scattered around the huge field of luscious green grass. As we approach a low cross rail I check Happie’s pace and we trot towards the jump, as I lean forward and clear the jump I hear Annie say “good job!” and when Happie breaks into a canter I slow him down to a trot and then to a halt to watch Annie on destiny clear the jump well but notice that Annie lost her right stirrup, but once we are together again I start talking about the new boarder and her horse that arrived early this morning, obviously destiny wants more action so she starts cantering and Happie taking the queue follows at his wonderful but bumpy canter and soon he passes destiny and they race on while Annie and I hold on and lean forward, finally I sit back and Happie slows to a trot and Annie gets destiny to do the same, we stop by the pond and eat the Cheetos that Annie brought and drink the water that I brought and we hang out while the horses drink some water and crop some grass, then we mount up again and destiny and Happie are still very frisky so we pick out four of the cross-country jumps and make up course, then Annie went first and I judged her, and then Annie judges me as Happie and I head for the first jump, then we turn sharply but smoothly to the second jump, as we approach the third which was a wooden brush I nudge Happie into a canter and we clear the hard brush fence, then we canter around two jumps and meet up with the fourth which wasn’t that hard and Happie and I came in “1st” and Annie took “2nd” then we head back to the barn while letting our horses have a free rein and then we untack, and hose off destiny and Happie, once they were put out in the pasture they hung out with each other cropping grass and grooming and nipping one another Annie and I clean out two more stalls each and then since Annie was spending the night we ate dinner and told the whole family about our ride, then father needed help with feeding so Annie and I walk with him to the barn, before we walk into the feed room my father stops, turns around and faces me, “well Jessie, after we feed the horses there is a secret that Annie and I have to tell you but that will wait until all the horses are fed.” With those words in my head I glance towards Annie and notice a sly smile on her face, I nudge her to tell me but she refuses and so I quickly grab a scoop in the feed room and skillfully measure different amounts for all the horses that are staying in the barn for the night. Once we are done, I tease my father about the secret and finally he pulls out a couple sheets of paper and hands them to me, as I unfold them I catch the words: owner: Jessie, your own horse, and you get to name it, for obviously my dad had written some note on there so then I could instantly know what it was !!!!!
I was breathless, I look up at my dad and he and Annie are laughing and smiling and I knew right away that they had bought me my very own first horse!!!!! I hug both of them and ask quietly, “where is my horse?” my dad laughs heartily and points towards the stall with the number: 16. I rush to the stall 16 and there inside, eating her grain was my first horse! I realized that I was still clutching the papers and so I look at them long enough to find out that the horse was a purebred Anglo Arab mare, she was bay with a white strip and she was 7 years old and a very good competitor for Eventing which I love! I set the papers down on a tack trunk nearby and then slip into the stall next to my horse, Annie and dad had trouped back to the house and left me to be alone as I get into the stall my horse turns away from her feed and nuzzles me, thrilled, I pat her neck and kiss her nose and start racking my brain for a good name for her! As I love the movie: the Artist and the main woman, I decided to name my horse after her, so my new horses name was: Peppy Miller or Pepsi after staying out with Pepsi for about 45 mins. I walk back to the house and find that everybody was on the secret so the whole family knew! I laugh and then realize that I am tired from all the excitement so Annie and I fling ourselves into bed, but we wind up staying up for about 2 hours talking about what I am going to do with Pepsi!
Then I fall asleep too happy to think about anything.
The next morning I jumped out, got dressed and did not have breakfast because I really wanted to see if Pepsi was still there or if it was a dream, and when I reach the stall, there on the nameplate it read:
Name: Pepsi owner: Jessie
feed four flakes of hay daily
Daily turnout

Happy, I open the door and find out that Pepsi is not fed yet so I feed her and give her fresh water and hay and then simply dance around the barn while cleaning stalls
A few days later I had already bonded a wonderful friendship for life.
And that my friend is how I acquired my first horse, I used to own pony but I always had wanted a horse
