I think that instead of a bantum, which are more broody then the breed I am reamending. I think you should get a Jersey Giant, I have seven, one is broody. When I had Bantums all of them were broody. If you get a cock, I hope its a Zeusy! I think my Zeus is the sweetest thing in the world!

Bantams are recommended because they are not so heavy. Full sized chickens can get heavy when you have to hold them for hours in a show.

Showmanship classes do require you hold the chicken during the class. That is a very popular class, there is a video that shows how to do it. You can order the video from chickenvideo.com.

| I show chickens, the classes do not last for hours, the junior classes are you answering questions, you put your chicken in a cage while you were answering the questions. That's your showmanship class. I showed in the National poultry Association Show. That was it. |

| Thanks everyone for the advice! I asked my mom and she said that I might get a bunny or a chicken! We would just have to block a section of my yard off so my dog wont get it. My mom said that I probably will get one because I take good care of my dog! |
