Nat2 & The Price of Valor | | 2014-02-15 16:22:11 | | Horses, one of the hardest things I've ever had to do was be part of a square dance exhibition in front of my dad's coworkers. The usual nervous thoughts ran through my head: What if I mess up? What if something bad happens and my clothes get torn? What if my petticoat falls down in front of everybody? What if I get so nervous that I can't dance? And what will the others think of me?????
I found out that I really don't care what they think of me. Sure, I have fun. Sure, they laugh. Sure, I ignore them. I have a great time, too. And I only messed up once-I didn't even notice because nobody said a word and I don't think they noticed, either. :) This is a bit embarrassing, but one dancer suggested I say something up on the stage-and, terrified, I prayed that he would actually forget about calling me up. And, well, he did. But I was so embarrassed because I'd been scared that I stayed up on the dance floor and did a line dance-I NEVER line dance-so I wouldn't sit back down and be thinking about how cowardly I was. Then I realized I hadn't exactly been cowardly-I am NOT a people person! I'm not good at parties unless someone I know is there that I can comfortably talk to. So Horses, don't be nervous! It'll all turn out fine and if you make a mistake that nobody notices, pretend you haven't made it. My brother makes mistakes in square dance sometimes, but he slaps his forehead and thereby makes the mistake more noticeable because he acted like he had done wrong. If somebody is showing signs of noticing your mistake, then make a joke out of it or just soldier on and begin again! I REALLY hope this helps cause I understand 'public speaking' fears. :) |

My sisters birthday is next week and we wanted todo something fun for her so... We found out that the ice on our pound in tthe backyard was hard so I told my mom I would shovel and for three days I have been doing it, but Maine got hit by snow really hard and rain so it thined the ice. When I went to Shovel again after school on V-Day it was slushy. Our pound is very large and the place that had nothing around it was way out there so I was almost I mean almost there when I broke through the ice. =0 I was also all by myself with no phone. I am pretty tall but I still couldn't touch the ground. But some how in a few seconds of dropping into the water I was then standing up on the ice outside the water. God spared my life. It was really cold if I went down all the way I would have died it was also almost a blizzered so I could have frozen to death but I got myself out before it went over my wast and I couldn't have done that without God. He saved me and I ran home.
I was really scared, and so was my mom my dad was gone for the day at work so he didn't know till he got back. Please pray for me I am a little tromatized. Thank you all.
