*** Green Horse Green Rider ***
Real life horse training discussion group. also when you get a greenie try to find a good trainer! | Golden swallow & Bow tie | 2011-11-27 03:47:56 | | greenies (horse or human) make mistakes,
you'll never get a perfect horse but if you get a green one use the rules (above) and take good care. Greenies can teach you alot same as a trained Mooreland totila's can. But you have to train the green and learn how the best you can. You make mistakes but learn quickly how to correct them and study and practice so that you make ALOT less. also if you have any horse, try to save money. For tack or anything. It helps you to be responsible and aware.
Night to all greenies and all the other colors of horsey people out there!
GS | Golden swallow & Bow tie | 2011-11-27 03:56:42 | | Can I join? I've got some good tips if Golden Swallow doesn't mind me helping out... Like almost everyone here, i've been in the same boat. I had a green arab mare, sweet as can be but WAY to green for a rider who'd been riding for maybe 6 months. I sold her back in Febuary. If y'all know some of the stuff that mare did, you'd call me crazy for saying it, but I really wish I hadn't sold her. Now i'm leasing an ex-racer appendix, real well trained and perfect for what i ask him to do. Just one problem, in December i'm doing an eventing horse trial, and i've never done dressage. I'm doing the green as grass level, if that helps. If anyone has any tips, it'd be great! I can tell you what test i'm doing if it would help. | mybuety & Pressed | 2011-11-27 04:47:13 | | I'm not a dressage expert. I would suggest you arrange to have the test read to you, and practice that way. It is allowed and will let you focus on your riding instead of having to remember the steps.
| Jane Crandal & JB | 2011-11-27 05:07:50 | | She's a Bay Quarter Horse Paint mix!!! With a Star, Strip and Snip!! And Hind Right Sock!!! | arabluv & teapot | 2011-11-27 21:52:49 | | Oh my gosh I love how Stacy Westfall does that! :) | MAC1023 & King | 2011-11-27 21:57:51 | | Well I know with dressage that your horse has to be trained for it and you should make your stirrups a little longer then if you were normaly riding. (like when you are jumping you should make them a little shorter.)
Hey Golden Swallow- do you own Mooreland totila's ??? | MAC1023 & King | 2011-11-27 22:02:41 | | Ok, thanks, MAC1023, turns out i'm not doing the show, I was out on the cross country field, and came over a big log, and fell off. It was my fualt, not Pressed, I was looking down, and was off balance, and it turns out I sprained my ankle. Thanks for the info though! | mybuety & Pressed | 2011-11-28 00:44:47 | | okay doka! Glad to help! Even though I dont own a horse ive taken lessons for 8 years and have learned a lot from trainers.... and horses so if you guys have any questions just ask!
