***Joining Up***
Hello and Welcome to Winning Trust Horse Farm for hurt or abused or what people call "Problem Horses" to come and have the mental scars and hurts of the past removed, to help them learn to trust again and to find new owners to love and care for them

*I walk King around in circles, the gelding? is prancing and bucks a little, he can't wait to get out, I stop him and dismount, looking deep into his eyes* Stop it. *He does, I hop back on and sit slumped in my saddle, then straighten up and trot him to my truck, I dismount about 10 feet away and ground tie him, walking up to it, I reach through the open window and grab my black felt cowboy hat, I put it on my head and walk to King, He sniffs my hat and then bits it, jerking it off my head on up into the air, he lets go and it drifts down, then lands on his head, hanging off one ear. It looks so funny, my knees go weak and I'm rolling on the ground laughing, then I pull myself together and grab my hat and swing back up, gathering the reins as I do. (He's in a western saddle and a Parelli snaffle western bridle wit split reins)* Alright boy, enough joking around, I walk him back to the barn and by then, Jason is done taking (sorry if thats power playing, just saying that's what I did while he was tacking up)*

King: *Whinnies and prances*

Gemma: Does he usually do this? *I easy ride the rear that comes next, then dismount* I check the girth, pulling his front legs forward to get all the caught hair of the sensitive elbow out of the girth, I remount, he still rears* It can't be the saddlepad, I checked it all over, maybe it's the bit... *I hop down and adjust the bit so it hangs in the corners of his mouth, he still rears and prances, I just scoff and turn him in tight circles (turning on the hind quarter) but then he takes off, I instictivly gather the reins and pull, hard. He skids to a stop, chewing the bit, then he jerks his head to get my grip loose, I turn and canter back to the others* Does he usually do this? I've been a trainer for about 4 years, so I can ride whatever he may do, like this *He had started bouncing as I spoke, doing a series of mini rears* I mean, seriously King? I can work with him on it later, the fence needs to be checked now. *I turn King and start walking him to the pasture, he shakes his head and aims nips at me (thats happened to me before, the horse pins its ears and tries to bite your knee) so I pulled his head the other direction*

Julie: WAIT Gemma! *hops off Arrow and runs to Gemma* Get off. He's telling you something. He's in pain! Get off and take a look at that leg. All the way up in the air! He's having pain! Here boy. Good boy King. Oh poor you. *Loosens the girth and removes the saddle and leads him to a stall and removes his Bridle. Marian? There's another new girl here. I have to stay here and work with King. She can ride Arrow and Gemma can ride Lady, Just be careful for Diva. Maybe put a foal slip on her and take a long lead so she doesn't run off. *Turns to Gemma and looks at her seriously.* Gemma, when a horse acts like this it isn't just being a pill. It has a reason. Here, we try to look for the reason for the actions and heal that, not just try to heal the actions. When a horse acts up, look around and see what's the problem.

Marian: Hey Tara! Come on right away! We're going to go ride fence in F because we had a horse with wire cuts on her leg. We might have to check in E for holes, because my mom said that King, who just went lame likely strained his leg in a hole or something. You can ride Arrow and take the back fence.
Jason, take the fence by the gate. Tara take the back fence, I'll take the left fence, Gemma, the right. Be careful everyone and call me on you're walkie-talkie if there is a broken wire. I'll ride over cause my mom gave me the supplies for fixing the fence. Okay! Let's go!

Jason:*squint follows King's example, only with a little less spirit, rearing, and pawing the air.*Easy girl, you don't need to do this, all it does is tire you out.Settle down.*Squint responds to the soft words and settles down after three more bucks.*Good girl. Now lets just enjoy this ride, okay?

*I look at the leg* Um. Marian, that leg is fine. I interned at a Equine Hospital for 5 years. *I rub the leg to make sure, nothing, I hop on bareback* I should know what I'm talking about. And don't treat me like I don't know anything. I've been breaking mustangs since age 10!

Parelli, can you just go along with what's happening please? I don't want to argue with anyone and the more excitement the better. I rode a horse the other day. He went lame and acted the same way, mostly. Also, Julie doesn't know how much you know and she does not own quite a few of these horses and must look out for their welfare. King and Squint are both Champion Show Jumpers.
