***Joining Up***
Hello and Welcome to Winning Trust Horse Farm for hurt or abused or what people call "Problem Horses" to come and have the mental scars and hurts of the past removed, to help them learn to trust again and to find new owners to love and care for them

Sorry, but it's kinda not fair to have a perfectly good horse get injured doing nothing.)

*I walk him off, shooting a glare at the others, they shouldn't assume I'm just some idiot that doesn't know how to train a horse*

So true but it happens all the time.

(Parelli...... {It looks like we're arguing after all.} It means that the pasture is not safe. We have to ride the other pasture to check for holes. It's a smaller pasture at least. We have been having a problem with gopher holes at Winning Trust and it looks like there is one we didn't fill in, or they re-dug it already.)

King: *limps so badly that he almost trips and throws his rider.*

Julie: Gemma, I'm telling you now, get off. I am responsible for this horse. I need to get the vet.

*I walk up to King and look at his legs and hooves* I'm telling you, there is nothing wrong with his legs! Just feel them and you will see! They are perfect. *Look deep into Kings eyes* Stop it. *I walk him and he walks without limping* He was faking it to get out of work. Look, *I trot him and no head bobbing or lopsided gait*

Julie: and I also don't want you to get hurt.

Parelli, can things please happen as I have them happen? If this sounds rude, it wasn't meant to be, but in real life these things are happening all the time. I know it doesn't seem fair, but if everything is perfect, it makes a really boring club! LOL :) And I'll see to it that it's not too serious and that he heals up nice and quick.

Okay, so King is hurt, I'm staying home, Tara is riding Arrow, You are riding Lady, because you are the most experienced rider here and we need someone who can ride a horse, look for problems and pony a foal all at the same time. Now everyone, it's time to go a on a ride and check fences!

Marian: *clucks to Moody and they start riding up the hill, leading the group.*

Well it doesn't have to be all messed up at the beginning! But fine.)

*I grab Diva's line and hold it in one hand and use the other to neck rein Lady around the pasture fence of my side, I see nothing out of the ordinary execpt a few loose nails, I ride back at report to Julie that there are a few loose nails on down, but other then that, nothing bad, I dismount and untack Lady, then I rub her down and groom her, Diva whinnies, left out so I rub her down and groom her too, then I put the two in a box walker (the best kind of walker!) so Lady can cool off with Diva*

What is a box walker?

I just want you all to know that Winning Trust doesn't have much money so there is a a lot more work, because we can't afford machines to do that kind of thing for us.

Nellie and sterntaler, it's up to one of you to find a broken or loose wire on the fence, because Parelli didn't find anything.

Julie: Okay Gemma, Thanks so much for telling me. Would you mind checking and filling in any gopher holes in pasture E? Thanks! Here. Put this in your saddle bag. *hands a spray bottle to Gemma* It's a natural quick killing poison. Spray it in the hole and then fill the hole in. I hate to kill them, but they are endangering our horses. Thank you so much again Gemma!

(You know a walker is the machine that you attach the lead rope to and it walks your horse around? This is a kind where its a little box (well, about 3 lengths long) and they walk around inside the box (it still rotates) without a lead rope, it's easier for the horse and better for a horse and foal pair!)

Gemma: Aye Aye Caption! *I salute and re-mount Lady bareback and grab Diva's halter, I walk around the edge until I find a gopher hole, I spray it and fill it in with manure, I make a tack mark on a peice of paper, then I repeat with the 10 others I find, then I walk back to Julie* 10 Gopher Holes sprayed and filled. Anything else?

Jason:I'll get right to it.*rides out to the pasture, and looks very carefully at the ground. Sees a small piece of barbed wire sticking up out of the ground.*I'll get that.*dismounts, grabs the wire with his gloved hands, and pulls up on the wire. It turns out that the wire is not small, but is buried deep in the ground.*Gotta- *grunts*-get this wire-*grunts again*-out!*falls back when the wire comes free.*Whew. Tough one.*hears a loud whinny from the neighbors pasture next to this one*What the-*gasps when he sees a man holding the lead rope of a beautiful chestnut Mustang, and whipping it constantly, trying to get it to stop fighting. After a LONG while, the gallant stallion finally tires, and settles down, with overlapping welts from the whip
bleeding freely.
