| you'll probably need it because i had a very small mouth. first they put in spacers, that spread my back molers out so they could fit the expander in. the expander got put in, (and i still have it in now,) and my mom had to tighten it for a few weeks. after that they said we didn't need to tighten it anymore and then they put my braces in. next time i go they're going to take my expander out. when i get my braces out im going to get a thing that will make my jaw come forward. after that, retainers. after that, nothing...hopefully. | Horsesforever12 & Jedi |

| wow, maximus. I agree Jane, that it is a very long procedure. i have had braces for at least over five months now. the most painful so far has been the braces. I was crying with braces. the spacers are ok, and the expander is just annoying. but u get used to it all after about three days. :) | Horsesforever12 & Jedi |

| dont worry, the unbearable pain goes away :) if you take lots of Tylenol and ibuprofen and put some ice on your mouth, it reduces the pain. :) | Horsesforever12 & Jedi |

| no they dont prescribe it, you just have to do it on your own. it really hurts for a few hours, and then it starts to go down. | Horsesforever12 & Jedi |
