"Run! Run!" cried Holly, the lead mare. "People! Run!" She cried again. I found my mom and ran with the rest of the heard, but being a baby, I soon fell behind. I heard one of the men shout to get me, and the next thing I knew, my mama and I were being pulled back by scratchy ropes. They pulled me over to them and examined me like a man would study an old piece of meat that they didn't know if they should eat or not. They soon said, "Come on man. Let's go." they pushed us up a ramp and shut the door behind us. I started to throw a fit. One of the men pulled out a stick with something sticking out of it. He walked over to me and stuck it into my neck. It hurt! I soon began to feel dizzy, then I blacked out.

When I woke up, I was in a big metal thing. It was attached to another thing, and they were moving fast! Of course, I was scared. After they poked me with that stick and made me fall asleep, I didn't know what they could do to me. About an hour later, we stopped. They came into the trailer and put something around my head. I didn't like it, but I was too scared to do anything. Then they attached a rope to it. When they polled on the rope, it pulled my head along with it! If I didn't go, They would pull harder and it would start to hurt. I finally decided to go along with it. They led me up to a big building and tried to take me inside. I would not go. They finally got me to go in by leading my mom up to the door. She had been taken on a different truck. When she was little, she had an owner so she wasn't as scared as me. they took me into a little box and let me go. Soon, a little girl came over and reached her hand into my box. I backed into the corner. The girl stood there for a while and then left. I soon learned that the people were nice and that the only thing that they asked of me was to do what they say. I grew up to be a fine stallion. I became famous for my dressage. Whenever I marched in a parade, people screamed out my name. Angel.

A Pony For Anna
By Horselover6987

Anna had always lived in the city until her parents died so she went to live with her Grandma and Grandpa on their farm at Willow Brook. Everything was new and strange to Anna at the farm,
And there were so many things to learn about and to do that Anna was delighted.
Anna’s Grandpa had a great many cows and horses and sheep. and there were tons and tons of chickens. Anna was busy all the time exploring the big farm and her Grandma and Grandpa did all they could to make her new home a pleasant one.
One evening, while Anna was taking a ride up and down the road on Tom, one of the farm horses, her Grandma said to her Grandpa, “Don’t you think we’d better buy a pony for Anna? She would enjoy it very much. Yes I think she would replied Anna’s Grandpa, but don’t you think we’d better let her buy one herself? Wouldn’t it be a good plan to let her earn the money and buy her own pony?
Yes it would said Anna’s Grandma. I hadn’t thought of that.
When Anna came in from her ride, her Grandpa said Anna, how would you like a pony of your own? Anna’s eyes danced. Oh, Grandpa, that would be too good to be true!
Well, said Anna’s Grandpa, you may have one if you will earn the money to buy him.
But, how, Grandpa, can I earn so much money? It will take a great deal said Anna.
Not so very much, said Grandpa, and I think we can find a way. I want someone to help me about the chickens, and you can do that very nicely. The hens are making their nests all over the farm, and I want to train them so that they will make their nests in the chicken houses. We lose a great many eggs this way, because we never find the nests.
You may have every egg you find outside the chicken houses, and Grandma will pay you for them, or you may sell them at the store. If you break up all the nests you find and take away the eggs, the hens will go back to where they belong.
Oh, Grandpa, that will be fine, and won’t I have fun hunting the nests? When shall I begin? Said Anna. Begin today, answered her Grandpa, You know there is no time like the present. For a number of days the hens kept Anna busy.
She would sit out in the barnyard and wait until she heard a hen crackle, then away she would go, and nearly every time she would find a nest. Some of the nests were full of eggs. One day a big white hen flew down from the hayloft crackling as hard as she could. In a minute Anna had climbed the ladder and was looking for her nest. A number of other hens flew up and went crackling out thorough the window. Well, well, said Anna, I wonder how many nests there are here! By looking carefully she found six nests nearly full of eggs. Anna was so exited she hardly knew what to do so she climbed down the ladder and ran into the kitchen to tell Grandma the good news. Her Grandma gave her a basket, and she soon brought it back full of beautiful fresh eggs. It won’t take long to buy a pony at this rate, will it, Grandma? She said happily. The next day she sat outside beside the big haystacks in the field in back if the barn. She had not been sitting there very long when a hen flew down from the very top of one of the stacks.
How am I to get up there? Thought Anna. But when she went around to the other side, she found a ladder that went part way up, and there at the top of the ladder, from a nest in the side of the stack, a hen flew down. By holding on to the hay she reached the top and found five other nests. Then she climbed the other stacks and found some nests on every one. Next she went out into the meadow and found many nests hidden in the tall grass and the fence corners. She soon became so used to looking for nests that she found them in all kinds of places. She discovered a number under the currant bushes at the end of the garden, and one in a big, old straw hat of Grandpa’s that had became wedged between the branches of an pear tree. She found one in the trunk of a hollow tree, another in a empty barrel, and still another under the seat of a old wagon in the shed. Soon she had quite a good start toward buying the pony. One morning she came in with eyes shining, and said, Oh Grandpa, I’ve seen the pony I want! She belongs to Mr. Brown, and he says he will sell her to me. She is a beautiful bay Shetland pony, and I shall call her Beauty. Yes she’s the one I was thinking of, said Grandpa. That reminds me, he added just as Anna was turning to go back out the door, do you remember the big brown bunny that died a few days ago? She had seven babies, if you want them you can have them and in a few weeks they will be ready to sell. Oh thank you Grandpa, said Anna. Grandpa seemed to be always on the lookout to find ways to help her in earning money for her pony, and her little store of money grew rapidly. One day Anna thought she must have nearly enough to pay for her pony, so she got out her money and counted it. Only a few dollars more, she said to Grandpa, running outside. Granma was talking to Mr. Sherman at the door, and Mr. Sherman was saying, Yes, my daughter like bunnies very much I heard you raise bunnies will you be willing to sell some of your bunnies? No said Grandma. But Anna has some very pretty bunnies you could buy. In a few minutes Mr. Sherman had brought four of the bunnies. Now I have enough to buy my pony Anna said excitedly dancing back to the house.
When Anna led Beauty into her new stall in the barn the next day, and knew she was her very own, she was the happiest girl in the country all around.

Heartland Part:2
By: bay speed

I was in the house jumping up and down, because my sister Lou was finally coming to my birthday party. When suddenly the phone rang, it was Lou! " Amy, I am not going to make it to your birthday." Lou said. "What, you promised" Amy said. " We can get together some other time. You know how busy I am with work and everything." Lou said. " Great, thanks a lot." Amy said." She slammed the phone down and went to her room.

The next day, she got up and headed to the kitchen. Her mom was making breakfast. " Hi honey, Katie is coming over today. You can go on a trail ride with her." her mom said. " O.K, mom." Amy said. Amy ran out the door and headed to the barn. There she pat Pegasus, the horse her dad used to own and waited for Katie to arrive.

Katie's mom just pulled into the drive.

To continue part:2 of Heartland
By: bay speed

Katie hopped out of the car and said " Hi, Amy." Amy said " Hi, do you want to go on a ride and see that new gorgous horse next door?!" Katie said " Yea, that would be great!" Then Katie and Amy tacked up the horses and rode off into the distance.

They where on a spooky trail, with tall shadowing trees and clouds where blocking the sun. Finally, when they got there they saw the neighbors had moved. So they headed back for home, when it started pouring with rain. Then suddenly they heard a neigh coming from a building straight ahead.

Going to continue on Part:3
