*** Lilac Moon Farm and Riding Stables ***

Kierra: *I follow Krystal* They shouldn't... *I see the stallion and grab my emergency halter, I slip it on* Come on buddy, let's see who you belong to. *I lead him to the operator and whisper* I found this horse abandoned, do you know where he came from? My friend here will help you out, I'm going to miss the auction if I don't go now. *I rush to the auction in time for lot number 4* $5,000! *I flash my paddle, the crowd goes silent*

Auctioneer: Going once, going twice... SOLD for $5,000 to number 2371! Next is lot number 5, a handsome Hereford steer...

Kierra: *I climb to the top of the stand and write $5,000 on a piece of paper next to 4, I watch the bidding war for 5, sold for $6,000, then 6 comes out*

Auctioneer: Bidding starts at $500.

Kierra: $600! $700! $850! $950! $1,500! *Again, silence*

Auctioneer: Going once! Going twice! SOLD for $1,500 to number 2371!

Kierra: *I jot it down, then I wait*

~30 minutes later~

Auctioneer: Next is lot 10! A GORGEOUS Polled Hereford heifer! Bidding starts at $5,000.

Kierra: $5,500! $6,200! $7,300! $8,000! *I stand* TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS! *My voice rings, unmatched, I flash my paddle and sit*

Auctioneer: *Shakes his head out of a trance* Going once, going twice, SOLD to paddle 2371 for $10,000!

Kierra: *I hop down, do some simple math, and I write a check for $16,500 and sign it, I hand it to the auctioneer* I'm done for today. You'll see me again tomorrow for the Blue's and Angus. *I smile and walk away, to the owners of lots 4, 6, and 10* Hi I'm the new owner of your cows.

Owners: That was quite a performance for 10. *laughs*

Kierra: *I laugh* I really wanted her. Well, I need to check on my bull, the one I brought. *I walk to Blue's pen and checked his water, I grab a handful of grain and hold it out, he eats it, I lock the gate and walk to Krystal* Got them all! Found an owner for the stallion yet?

Lily: I dismount Bella. I start dragging small logs and form log jumps. I pass hedge trimmers to Lucy. "The hedges will need to be clipped so that so branches stick out," I say. I grab hedge trimmers of my own and start clipping a shrub in the middle of the path that will be the cross-country course.

Kierra: Nothing. But if you really want to know, $1,500. The cheapest one I bought. *I laugh* You should have seen the battle for 10. Overall... I spent $16,500. And that's just today. I've been saving all year for this moment.

(Cute!)

Kierra: Thanks. Previously named Lot 4 is now Queen Victoria (We almost got a Polled Hereford named that) and Lot 6 is Moocifer.
