Trick or Treatment

As I walked down the narrow pavement with my Mom's dog, I bumped into a young man, riding a fairly tall bay mare. He noticed the concerned look on my face and laughed.
" Going to Hardwood, are you?"
I slowly nodded.
" Hop on to ol' Bonnie 'ere. I'll give you a lift and, have you heard the news?"
I shook my head, looking, well, a bit worried.
" a treatment scandal. Been treating the ponies like nothin'." As Bonnie turned round the bend, the handsome young man asked,
" After your lesson, do you want a quick hack with me?"
I replied,
" I'm not that sure. What about my puppy?"
He gave me a thinking look, and that shut me up for sure. Was this treatment scandal real?
I hopped off Bonnie and thanked the young man, who remained nameless. When I got to the stable, I looked round for jenny, the tutor. When I saw her, with a bag of medicene, I knew some thing had gone wrong. Was this
