TRAINING TIP:
How to teach your rabbit to jump over a jump.
First you will need to get a jump. You cane make one easily with some dowels inserted into two toilet paper rolls. Or if you prefer to go the fancy way you can buy a real rabbit jump.
Method 1. This is an easy way to teach rabbit to go over a jump. Especially if your rabbit can come when called. First make sure your rabbit knows how to come when called. Then depending on it's size raise or lower the jump height to 2 to 3 inches. Then place your rabbit on one side of the jump then go to the opposite side and call your rabbit. Your rabbit should run to you and it should jump over the jump. Give him the treat as soon as he gets over it. You can also use a click treat method to reward him. This way is faster and easier. Eventually your rabbit should get the idea and jump over the jump. You can switch the command from come to jump by say the word while your rabbit is jumping. Soon you can then gradually make the jump higher. I discuss the other method soon. Happy hopping! |
