Camp Windy Veil
“CAMP WINDY VEIL. HORSE CAMP IN RURAL NEW YORK FOR BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 12-16. EACH CAMPER WILL GET THEIR VERY OWN HORSE TO CARE FOR THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SUMMER, OR THEY CAN BRING A HORSE.

Chloe: "I know letting your guard down can be hard and I know sometimes when you let your guard down stuff happens.... But, just thanks for trying. And maybe we could like sit next to each other on the airplane or something."

RM: JumperGal's post and mine should be switched. Meaning she submitted hers before I submitted mine and mine has to come first or it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Chloe: "You're right, I don't know much about you. But you don't seem that bad when you're not arguing with me. Anyways…I think I'll go for a ride or something. If you want to come, let me know. I'll be tacking up Liar." I walk off to the tack room and gather Liar's tack before walking back to Liar's stall. "Hi Liar," I say with a smile. "Let's go for a ride."

Krystal-"I have to do Shadow, indoor in 20?" *I go grab my gleaming dark, soft, supple tack and bring it to Shadow's stall. I groom him and then grab his running martingale. I slip it over his head and it rests neatly. Then I swing a dark purple pad with a black outlined horse jumping an outlined navy heart in the corner. I swing my Butet saddle up and fasten the girth, then slip dark leather padded open fronts (in front) and brushing boots (in back) on Shadow's legs. I easily velcro black bell boots on, then slip his stitched and padded bridle with braided reins on. I fasten the chain on his pelham bit and grab my helmet, snapping it on as I walk.*

Roxy: Titan immediately moved into a trot. I managed to get her to walk, using calming words. That was the trouble with this mare. It was practically impossible to slow her down. She walked around me in slow, calm circles. After I decided that she's had enough walking, I clicked a little and she moved into a trot. I was reminded of the reason that I bought this horse. Her movements were so smooth and clean! When I bought her, she had needed a lot of training, but I figured that I could retrain her. However, I was starting to doubt myself.
Rose: I urged Levi into a trot and we started down the path into the woods. I marveled at the beauty of nature. Bright, warm sunshine peeked through the vibrant green foliage. I urged my precious horse into a canter and turned down the trail that led to the cross country course. We had set the course up one dreary winter week. Because I was homeschooled, my studies were put on hold. I smiled as I remembered leasing a draft horse and cart, and loading the cart with various jumps. After we set up the jumps, we would head back and take turns driving the placid gelding back to the house. When we got there, my mom was waiting for Roxy and I with large mugs of hot chocolate. The memory of my mom sent a pang of sadness throughout me. I pushed those feelings aside. Levi and I had reached the course.
Meenah: I decided that the volunteer kids could get the rest of the Halflingers. I was already exhausted from just dealing with two of them! I walked to the house and opened the door to the guest room that was mine for the time being. I went into my closet and grabbed a couple outfits at random. I dug out a durable duffle bag and placed the clothes in there. I was done packing. I flopped onto my bed, and before I could resist, I was sound asleep in a mid afternoon cat nap.

Chloe: I lead the groomed and tacked up Liar into the indoor arena while eyeing the easy 4' course. I let Liar into an easy walk for a couple laps before letting him into a trot. After a few more laps of trotting I let Liar break into a canter. I canter him for a while paying extra attention to his smooth gait. I take him around to the first jump thats painted a dark blue and a silvery white with flowers on either side. Liar jumps it easily and shakes his head wanting to go faster. I slow him a notch and point him towards a bounce. He takes off a second late for the first jump but somehow he collects himself before taking off for the second jump. We do a few more jumps and clear them all. I let Liar into a smooth and speedy canter so he can get enough momentum for the last oxer. After landing softly on the other side of the oxer I trot Liar back to the center where I see Krystal standing. "You're turn." I say while patting Liar's shoulder.
