Autumn
by: horse_girl13
Tennessee is a beautiful state. My favorite season is autumn because of the true beauty Tennessee shows. With its many colors of red, orange, yellow, and green, it's both beautiful and mysterious. Whenever I see the leaves begin to change, a thrilling feeling surges through me. Hiking on trails is a great way to observe the beauty. With all the state parks and hiking trails it gives everyone a chance to savor this beautiful season. Waterfalls, caves, forests, and meadows are also beautiful places to bring a special friend, your best friend, your horse.

The Snow-Horse
by PlushHorse22

I grabbed my coat and my gloves, and raced downstairs. When I got into the garage, I sat down and put on my good snow boots. When I got outside, I took a moment to look at the snow before I stepped in it. When I was done, I made a ball of snow and began to roll it around, soon it was as thick as a horse's body. I left it there and then started another ball. When it was big enough, I connected the two balls and had the body of my horse done. It tok me about a half hour to finally finish the neck and head. As I was climbing onto my snow-horse, I heard a whinny. I looked at my horse, "Was that you?" But then I heard it again, and a bay horse came charging into my yard. I grabbed it's reins as it stopped in front of me. It has a note sticking out of the saddle bag, I grabbed it and read it.

Dear whoever finds this horse,

This horse is yours. You may call him whatever you like. I cannot afford to keep him, so I let him go to choose who he wants.

Thanks,
Sarah

I read it about 10 more times before I finally realized that this wasn't a dream. I had always wanted a horse, and a bay one too! It only took me a second to decide what to name him. "Well, Razen, welcome home." I hugged him, then mounted. and we rode around the yard, kicking snow onto my old snow-horse.

THE END

Our Winter
By Dragon Girl
Ohio is so stinking cold right now. it's usually in the negatives daily, and sometimes your sweat freezes to your face. NOT. COOL. It's still pretty, though, with all the frostiness and snow over the ground and the trees. But it's also EPIC, especially with a crazy country hillbilly family like mine! There's no one in this country who can make such a mess out of winter, not to mention Christmas.

Last year's Christmas was the craziest yet. We, as usual, looked for the biggest tree we could find, pulled around our wrap around porch, and stuffed it in our house. Then the hunt for the tree stand began. Once it was up, it took us a week before we decided to decorate it. In my house, we get new ornaments every year to add to our collection. That's why we need a ten foot tree. It took us two hours to get the tree decorated. We drank Pepsi, ate cheese sticks, and listened to Uncle SI sings the Grinch, They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard, Jar of Dirt remix, and multiple other remixes that come from our favorite movies. Then we started ordering presents. I used my own money, which I got from selling plush horses, to pay for my families gifts. I ordered my sister a GIANT poster of Orlando Bloom, my brother a Lego Darth Vader keychain, my dad a matching Darth Vader optical mouse and mousepad, and my mom a bracelet. When they arrived, I wrapped them in disguises. I made my mom's look like a coffee pot. My dad thought he got a box of dog food, and my brother thought he got a pack of snake eggs. But my sister's was special. Using my skills with a computer, I created a fake order form that made it look like I'd hired bounty hunters to go kidnap Orlando Bloom. I placed the poster in a six foot tall box and made air holes and care instructions. On Christmas morning, I jumped up and screamed "GOOD MORNING WORLD AND ALL THAT INHABIT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", thus starting the grandest holiday of the year. Me and my sister (Pizza Freak) ran to wake our brother, who was really grumpy at first, until we reminded him that it was indeed Christmas. We ran out to the living room, where, unfortunately, out 16 year old miniature schnouzer mix dog had peed. NOT. COOL. AT. ALL. So, after waking our parents and cleaning up the mess, we opened out stockings. I got braiding bands, a fanny pack that held a bonanza of braiding tools, and a hoof pick. My sister's had yarn and my brother's had Legos. Lots. And lots. Of Legos. We moved onto the presents, and I kid you not, I screamed my head off till the cows came home. I picked up this little flat present that looked like a piece of paper. I opened it, and lo and behold, it's a cardboard rectangle. I gave my dad a look that said: WHAT. IN MIDDLE EARTH. IS THAT. When I turned it over, I found that it was taped to a picture. The picture was of Legolas, and of course, now I was getting excited. It had words that looked like Ordering Book on it. I asked my dad what was going on, and he said: "Well, it looks like a picture of your favorite actor, with his hair flowing in the wind, and in your eyes, being a complete hunk of burning love-" "NO, IT'S NOT! And I don't think he's a dreamboat." "Well, it looks like it's been signed by Orlando Bloom." I literally fell to the floor and screamed for two minutes, rolling and snuggling that piece of paper. I was so happy and danced across the room. Then we proceeded with the rest of the gifts. Pizza got lots of yarn and knitting books, like she wanted, my brother got oodles of Legos, like he wanted, and I got a saddle, bridle, saddle pad, computer, drawing books, drawing tools, sketchbooks, and a Legolas Barbie Doll, like I wanted. So we were all men of our word. Except for me and Pizza, who are, in fact, fanGIRLS. When Pizza Freak opened her poster, she was like: "Jee Wiz, Orlando. Button up your shirt." My dad found the order form, looked at me, and screamed: "*my real name here*, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???!!!" He thought I really had kidnapped Orlando Bloom. I got a SERIOUS laugh out of that. We went to my Grandmother's, and there we got a cupcake maker that works like a tortilla machine. We got home, and that week, me and my sister got together and cleaned our room, put up shelves, arranged all of our Orlando Bloom merchandise, and had a sleepover with our BFFs.

Since then it has snowed a foot, melted, snowed three inches, melted, flurried, melted, and snowed EVEN MORE, then melted, not to mention an ice storm, tornado watch, and strait line winds. We went to Florida on vacation, and there was snow everywhere, even in South Carolina. Now tell me, Scientists, what become of the weather? Global Warming? I spit in your general direction (I'm just kidding, Just kidding! LOL!)! We had a blast there, and now we're back, and we're cold again, but we're here and ready to party. I recently got back from a horse clinic, in which my BFF abandoned me to go hang out with some older girls who's she's friends with, and I stayed with the moms and took six pages of notes. I can't help it. I'm a geek. Right now we're all preparing for a big quilt show, where I'll try to sell some surprisingly life like artwork of flowers, some doll dresses, plush horses, and other things.

Well, that's Winter where I'm at.
