Wonder's Victory
by jeppocat

Wonder is mounted the starting gate.
Our chance to lose or to win
We are racing at the Belmont Derby
we made through all things thick & thin.

My horse Wonder is a racehorse with heart.
As I hear the bell go off
we run off to a wonderful start.

We run fast, like the wind down the track
always looking forward
and never looking back.

We now are taking the lead
against The Townshed Prince
I could care less if he's been always
the favorite ever since.

Closing with hard potential on the finish line
Wonder has won the the Belmont Derby!
Wonder's victory is hers and mine!

Change Part 3

I close my eyes and smile, leaning against the seat in my family's dark blue SUV. The past couple of hours flash through my head. After trying Good-bye, I untacked and groomed her, then went back to the arena where a beautiful cremello mare was waiting. Let Me Fly's movements were even more amazing than Good-bye, and she was twice as sweet. After trying each horse, Isabelle invited us into her office to talk about the horses. My parents asked me to leave while they talked with Isabelle. I went back to Good-bye's stall and sat with her.

My mother turns around and looks at me. "Sienna? What did you think?"

"I really liked them. Good-bye was very sweet and a smooth mover. Fly was even sweeter and a lot smoother. They were almost perfect."

"I'm thinking we'll buy them." My father interjects.

"Really?!" I shriek, "I'm getting them?"

"Yep." I smile and run down to the barn, getting ready to clean out two stalls.

I know that was pretty short, but I can't really write about getting a horse when I'm losing one. I want to say one thing though... THANK YOU FOR STICKING WITH THIS STORY FOR 3 PARTS!!!!!!!! And thank you for making the last part win! I'm so thankful for all the support and readers.

Hope: chapter 2: seize the moment
by: Jannah Rose

Amber hugged the horse for a long time his warm body comforted her. She slowly let go of him. Amber looked behind her at the setting sun it's pink and orange hues illuminating the sky an outline of the moon waited in what was left of the blue sky. She sighed sadly "I really should be going now mom will have a fit if i'm not home for dinner". She gave him one last kiss on his whiskery muzzle "good bye my lovely black horse"she whispered quietly. Then she hopped on her bike and disappeared into the Autumn night.
When she stepped in the door the house was quiet except for the clanging of pots in the kitchen. "Amber!" her mom barked loudly. "Pack your bags you're going to live with your aunt!" she said curtly. "And I don't want to hear any whining she's picking you up tomorrow morning!". Amber gulped at the thought of never seeing her black horse again she nodded solemnly and walked up stairs blinking back tears. She quickly opened up her suit case and stuffed all of her favorite clothes and belongings inside she grabbed her sleeping bag and suddenly all the tears that she had been holding back poured out of her eyes she sniffled."I'm running away" she said, determined.
She quickly tip toed down stairs and out the front door shutting it quietly behind her she hopped on her bike and peddled away. She hurried over to the fence the black stallion whinnied to her his ears pricked forward waiting for her. she layed out her sleeping bag "I guess i'm staying here" she said softly. As she nestled down in it she thought of what trouble she could get into if her mom or her aunt found her there she had never met her aunt but assumed that she was much worse than her mother...... Pain - A Word Only Equestrians Understand
Prologue
By breazy02

I threw myself to the ground and screamed in protest, flailing my arms, lacking the air to stay on my feet. I felt around the stony ground and let the cold, salty tears fill my eyes and seep into my mouth, my hair falling over my face as my entire body shook in fear. My cries came out strangled and pitched and I was unable to find my voice, to form any words.

"You can't take her!" I screech. "You just can't!"

I fumble with the zip on my jacket and rip it off, the collar suffocating me. I toss it to the ground and lash out, kicking the vending machine, the open stall door, the hollow wall. Nothing makes them return.

"Please! Leave her alone!" I plead. "She's scared! Bring her back! Please! You can't do this to me!"

The sobs are uncontrollable now. I can't keep them contained. My body racks and I look up, through the strands of my sandy hair. I watch them leave. I watch her leave.

My horse.

My father.

He'd sold her.

Forever.

The Coyote And The Native
Written by horseypants

STORY DOES NOT CONTAIN PONIES

One day a very hungry coyote ran through the forest looking for something to eat. Everything was burnt black like overdone toast, there was a fire. Everything that the coyote named buck knew was gone. His friends and the food supply was all gone.
But this day was different. His nose filled with a unfamiliar smell. as Buck got closer he saw what he had smelt, an Indian camp...

~You Gave Me Wings~
A poem by emilyhana2389:

(note: this is a poem I wrote for a horse I once rode. We were a perfect pair but sadly he got taken away from me. I will never forget the amazing times we had together and I will never stop looking for him. One day we will be together again.)

Scars tell the story of Memphis,
But when he jumps
He jumps like a deer.

Fear of the past glistens in his dark eyes,
But when he runs
He runs like the wind.

Abused and tortured, past his limit,
But he is strong
He is beautiful.

Treated lower then the dirt he walked on,
But he is proud
He is a champion.

Passed on, not wanted, hated until now,
But he will never again be alone
We are One.

Freedom On Her Back

By ArabianHorseGal

"I hate you!" I scream, my voice cracking. Tears spring from my mother's eyes, and for a moment I feel a pang of regret. But everything she's done to me, the nights of crying into my pillow, cheeks stinging from her angry hands, making up excuses for my bruised face when concerned teachers ask, everything wells up inside of me, hardening my feelings, and all I see when I look at my tormentor of fifteen years is hate.

Without waiting for her pained response to reach the part of me that still feels attached to her, I run out the door, slamming it hard in her face. I sprint to my mare, the only one who can understand the pain my mother - no, I can't even call her that anymore - that woman has put me through, the only one who can make me feel safe, the only one who can offer me the protection that I never had. She stands quietly, her sculptured Arab head turned toward me, her muscles quivering slightly, ready to bolt the minute I vault myself into the saddle. My backpack with everything that will keep me alive in the Wyoming wilderness packed carefully in it, rests against the hitching post.

When I reach my mare, the hate and anger dissolves, and I wrap my arms around her slender neck for a moment before slinging the backpack over my shoulders, grabbing the reins, and swiftly pulling myself onto my sturdy saddle. Her ears flick back, waiting for my signal to run. I hold her still as I gaze at the house one last time, then point her toward the trail that is my only path to freedom.

"Alright, girl. Let's get outta here!" A rush of adrenaline speeds through my veins as she leaps forward into a flat out gallop. Leaning low over her neck, I let my hat fly off my head and dangle from my neck, my hair blowing through the wind, my eyes drying from the cool night air.

I don't care that I have left my childhood behind, because I'm with the one thing that still matters to me, and I have reached the longed-for freedom on her back.
