Name: The Marvelous & Bonanza Show
By: TheZoekid

(This storyline was my idea but it is based off of a tv show called Bonanza that aired 1959, the Marvelous in my idea twist on the story. I hope y'all like it! I am written the second episode already, and I also hope more people the just me know what Bonanza is and who Ben, Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe are ;) Thanks!)

Prologue Of: The Marvelous
It was a hot day in 1870 just out of Carson City Nevada, where the cattle grazed on the hills and the horses stayed in the cool shade of the maple trees planted around The Grant.

The Grant was a respectful ranch that held a respectful family of five. There was: Abigail Wilson (a widow whose husband died from a stampede of cattle he was herding in. It happened about five years ago and now Mrs. Wilson has built herself and her family a life.) Victoria, Luke, Hugh, and little Carly (Carly was only a month old when her father had died).

Now Victoria, was a spirited, feisty young lady with red curly hair, blue eyes, a good figure, with good schooling. She is twenty-five years old now and is on her way back on a stage from her school. She finished her degree and is suited to become a teacher.

Luke, is a strong, handsome, kidder who likes to play a lot of jokes but doesn't like taking the blame for all of them. He has brown short hair, green eyes, and a handsome figure. He is twenty and is the kind of person that when he is free from school he won't want to go back. So he became the man of the house and the role-model to his younger brother.

Hugh, is a sweet lovable young teenager, he is sensitive and kind. Hugh has golden hair, almost purple eyes, and a handsome figure. Hugh likes to read and spends most of his time either with Carly or reading. He is six-teen and sticks close to Carly ever since Abigail's husband died (Clark).

Carly, the doll from heaven that brings joy to the whole family. She doesn't know of the word sorrow and she won't let her family feel it either. Carly has black long curls with hazel eyes, she if five but as smart as a ten year old, and she is as ever bit as sweet as candy.

And Abigail is a fine young woman with beauty like the stars and the love that won't stop giving. She has black long hair with hazel as like Carly. She is forty-one years old but doesn't look a day over twenty. But she has a heart that is locked with a stolen key and it hides secrets to her unforgettable past... and the children pray that it will one day be unlocked.

Episode One:
The Mysterious Letters
Abigail saddled her golden, black haired, gelding that she named Liberty. She mounted wearing a tan split skirt with a white blouse tucked in by her gun belt. She had on a tan cowboy hat with her hair tied back in a bun.
"Luke, if you want to come with me you better get on out here!" Yelled Abigail who had moved her horse farther away from the doorway of her ranch.

Her ranch was two stories and was long and wide. It had a front porch with a post beside the it. She had a few bunk houses scattered on the right side of the ranch.

"Coming ma," Luke ran out of the house followed by Hugh and Carly who stopped at the door.

Luke untied his red quarter horse from the post and mounted. He wore trousers with a plain blue shirt with a black sleeveless vest over it. He also had a black hat on his head and a black gun belt around his waist, "Sorry ma, for making you wait."

"It's fine, we just need to get into town before the stage with your sister in it comes in." Abigail smiled then looked to Hugh and Carly, "Now you two stay out of trouble and start decorating for the party tonight, Kelly is cooking but Daniel said he will help y'all, okay?" Abigail asked.

"Yeah ma," Hugh put a hand in his trousers pocket, and gave the other one to Carly. Hugh wore a plaid shirt tucked in, while Carly wore a white flowered dress with her black hair back in braids.

“Fine, see ya when we get back.” Abigail brushed back a few strands of hair that had been blown into her face by the wind, and she took the reins tight in her hands and gave her gelding a pat with it on it’s rear. Liberty yanked his head up and started to back up away from the post.

Carly waved as Abigail and Luke road down the path and their image was lost beyond the trees and tall bushes.

“Come on Carly, if we want to get this done before ma returns with Victoria we better start now.” Told Hugh as he led Carly back into the house and closed the door behind him.
⧪⧪⧪
Abigail and Luke road their horses into the busy, dusty City. They slowed them to a halt by a post right outside the stage ticket booth. A few people that past waved or tipped their hat at Luke and Abigail as they dismounted and tied their horses to the posts.

“I’m going over to the post office to check in on something, then I’m heading over to have a quick visit with a friend, but I won’t be long so do whatever you want after you make those orders at the store, okay?” Abigail asked.

“Yeah ma,” Luke then turned his back to his mother and walked to the local store. Abigail walked across the street to the post office and went in.

“Hey Steve, any mail for me today?” Abigail asked as she walked through the open door, and placed her hat on the short desk that was beside the door. It was a small office with two desks and a few shelves behind the desks. Steve Miller ran the post office in town and was married to beautiful lady named June. They had one son and he had moved away to California. Steve was short, in his mid forties, gray hair, and a rounded stomach. He wore a checkered tucked in shirt with trousers. He also had on a black cap and suspenders.

“Well I believe so Abby-,” Steve got up from his chair and walked to the shelves to pull a small envelope out of one of the many cubbies built into the shelves, “uh, here it is.” He walked back to Abigail and handed her the letter.

“No telegram?” Abigail asked as she tore the seal to the letter and gently took out the letter.

“Yeah, just one.” Steve responded.

“Umm?”

“Your daughter said she was just leaving on the stage,” told Steve.

Abigail unfolded the letter, “When did that arrive?” She asked as she began reading the letter.

“Oh, ‘bout noon. Probably sent it early this morning.” Steve sat back down in his chair.

Abigail’s mind wandered from the conversation she was having, to the letter. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. She inhaled and folded the letter and placed it back in the envelope, “Thanks Steve…” Abigail then turned and walked swiftly out the door.

“Oh, okay… welcome… uh?” Steve then began mumbling to himself.
Abigail rushed across the street to the local store, she found that Luke was not there… she turned around and walked over to the Saloon. She looked over the bar doors and spotted Luke sitting at a card table.
gm

She sighed, raised an eyebrow and walked in. Eyes were fixed on her as she made her way to Luke.

Luke turned his head to face his ma and placed his cards on the table.

“Ready?” He asked.

“You are…” She responded sharply.

“Huh?”

“You know that my family and everyone in it does not drink nor gamble!” She scolled.

“I wasn’t drinking or gambling!” He defended as he rolled his eyes, “I was just having a friendly card game, no bets involved! I promise.” He promised.

“Fine, but anyways you need to get back to the ranch.” Abigail shifted her weight from one hip to the other.

“Why?”

“Cause I’m staying in town to do work, and I need you to handle the ranch. I won’t be back till I bring Victoria home okay?” She asked.

“Yes ma’am,” Luke got up and through his cards on the table, put on his hat and followed his ma out of the Saloon.

They both walked over to their horses and Luke mounted.

“Luke, the boys said they needed a hand on the northern fence, will you get on that in your free time today?” Abigail asked.

“Yes ma, I’ll see you at home,” he tilted his hat and road his horse down the streets and out of Carson City.

Abigail patted her horse with her free hand and sighed.

“Abby? Abby?” Steve walked to Abigail with Abigail’s hat.
“You forgot your hat,” told Steve as he handed it to her.

“Oh thanks Steve,” she took it and placed it on her head, then began to mount her horse.

“Wait, wait…” Steve put his hand on her shoulder.

She got down and faced him, “What is it?”

“You got a telegram,” Steve informed as he handed her a piece of paper.

Abigail’s eyes scanned the paper. She crumbled it up and handed it to Steve as she again began to mount. She sat straight up in her saddle.

“I’m sorry Victoria is delayed in Virginia City…” Steve placed the crumbled piece of paper in his pocket.

“Tt’s just as well… I had business I needed to attend to.” Abigail tipped her hat and directed her horse to walk on.

“Have a good day!” Steve waved.

Abigail kicked her horse into a trot and trotted down the hot dusty road.
~~~
A red and golden stagecoach wheels turned as the dust spit up at the door. The driver slowed the coach to a stop and hopped out of his seat in the front. He stopped in front of a little shop connected to a whole row of shops on the streets. The driver wore a red stripe tucked in shirt, with a belt and a tan gun belt. He had a tan cowboy hat and brown trousers. The driver opened the door of the coach, took his hat off to show his blonde hair, stuck out his free hand, and motioned for the passengers to get out. What came out of stagecoach first was a elegant hand covered in black lace. It took the driver's hand, then came a black velvet slipper that had purple fabric draped over it. Next came a black, round, slanted hat with purple and black feathers coming out of the top. It sat upon a head of red curls and blue eyes. This woman was wearing the age of twenty-five and a purple long dress with a black velvet shall around her bare shoulders. The hair on the back of her head was placed in a bun and in the front the hair was loosely tied back. The driver held one of her hands as the other held her dress skirt above he ankles. She set her foot upon the rocky road of Virginia City and looked up and around at this city. She stepped out of the way of the stagecoach and walked under the shade of a canopy as someone jumped onto the roof of the stagecoach and tossed down her bag.
“Thank you,” she nodded as she picked up her bag and turned to face the shops and stores on that side of the street.
“You look lost,” a young gentleman spoke from his hiding place in the shade of the canopy in a chair by the door to a shop. He had his black hat with a black leather band around the brim that had a silver dot every inch slanted down shading his eyes, with his hands in his black trouser pockets. He had a black, thin, long-sleeved shirt tucked in under his belt and black gun belt, with a red handkerchief tied around his neck, and black jeans.
“Yes, see I'm here to see a handsome, young, gentleman named Adam Cartwright,” She smiled as she walked closer to this gentleman.
He straightened his hat out and looked her in the eye and smirked, “You forgot rich,” he winked.
“Adam,” she spread out her arms and he stood up and hugged her .
“Thank you for agreeing to stop by on your way home. I understand you want to see your family, but I haven't seen you for so long or heard from you,” Adam scratched just above his eyebrow.
“Oh, it was right on my way and I'll see my family for the rest of the year, but I won't see you till the end of... this month?” She bit her lip with a smile.
“That soon?!” Adam lit up.
“Yes, my mother is going to sell a few of her cattle at the Virginia Fair at the end of this month, and that's when we can pull the trigger!” She giggled with excitement.
“Victoria, you make it sound like a murder not an engagement,” Adam chuckled.
“Oh, there both the same thing!” Victoria laughed.
“Victoria!” He scowled but he couldn't keep from both smiling and chuckling as he wrapped his arm around her back to her shoulder, and with the other hand, he took her bag. They started to walk down the street to the hotel on the corner.
~~Mean While~~
A young man with light brown hair and green eyes about 5’ walked into the post office in the quaint town of Virginia City. He wore a green leather jacket with a thin tan tucked in shirt with tan jeans and brown cowboy boots and a tan cowboy hat with a brown braided band with was round the brim and hat silver little buttons every few notts of the braid. He took off his hat and played with it in his hands. He had his collar unbottoned two buttons and his jacket collar spiked up.
“Hey Little Joe,” the post office working smiled at Little Joe, she was about sixteen with auburn, long, curly hair and beautiful eyes which were noticed by this young man and she fluttered them. He smiled back, putting his elbow on the counter of the post office with his hat next to it as he leaned in closer. The girl put both of her elbows on the counter so they were just a few inches away.
“Hey Kelly, how is a beaut like you doing today,” he asked with his flirting chuckle.
“Fine,” Kelly blushed.
“So why aren’t you getting my mail!” He hit both hands down on the counter stood straight up, chuckled as he hollered.
“Alright, alright!” She giggled as she turned around and looked for his mail in all the cubicles.
“Thanks Kelly,” he again rested up against the counter.
Kelly twisted her torso to little Joe, “Do you have a Mrs. Cartwright staying with you?” She asked.
“Huh? What do you mean Kelly? My papa’s not married,” Little Joe stood straight up again.
“No, I mean do you have like an Aunt or someone?” Kelly asked turning all around and placing a letter before Little Joe addressed to a Mrs. Cartwright of Virginia City NV.
“Huh?” He picked up the letter and stared at it, he turned it around and then back to the front.
“Are you gonna take it? Or should I send it back today?” Kelly asked about to take the letter from him.
“No, no,” he moved out of her reach, “I’ll take it,” told Little Joe as he placed the letter in his inside coat pocket, picked up his hat, placed it slanted a bit to the side, tipped it, and walked out of the post office, “Good day,”
“You too!” Kelly yelled after him, she sighed and watched Little Joe from out of the window cross the street to the saloon.
Little Joe walked in the saloon and walked to the bar, “I’ll take one… umm- one black coffee, I feel drowsy.”
“One black coffee coming up Little Joe,” Told the bartender.
Little Joe sat down at a table and took out the letter. The bartender set down a black coffee in front of Little Joe, “Thanks,” he mumbled. He broke the seal, took out the piece of paper and unfolded it. He filled his mouth up with coffee as he started reading:
Dear Maria,-”. At this Little Joe spit all of the coffee that was in his mouth out and onto the table. He then started to choke.
“You okay?” The bartender ran to him with a couple other fellas.
They patted him on the back as he stood up, “Water,” he mumbled. They got him a glass of water and he gulped it down, then stood there gaping.
“Was the coffee that bad?” The bartender asked but Little Joe didn’t reply. He just set down a dime, grabbed the letter and ran out of the Saloon. The bartender and the fellas just stood there in shock for a few moments.
When Little Joe got out on to the street he found a bench to sit on and finish reading the letter:
“Dear Maria,
why haven’t you replied? I have waited sixteen years! How long do you expect me to wait here? Why don’t you tell Ben about me? From what you have told me about him, I think he would understand. Please, send me a ticket for a stagecoach. Let me come and see you, please!
Forever yours
~Carillion Blake”
“Carilion knows-knew my mom,” Little Joe sighed with a smile. He folded the letter back up, put it in the envelope, and placed it in his coat pocket. He ran over to the bank withdrew enough money for Carillion's passage and went back over to the post office and sent the letter with the money to Carillion Blake.
Liberty galloped as fast as he could down the road, Abigail slowed Liberty to a halt as Abigail listened. She heard wheels of a stagecoach running over dirt and rocks. She took a handkerchief that she hid under the back of her saddle out, wrapped it around her face that only her eyes were showing. She took out her guns and dismounted. She led Liberty into the bushes and slid off her skirt. Under her skirt she had on trousers. She neatly put all of her hair up in her hat. She could pass for a man if she made it a quick visit. As the stage came around the corner Abigail leaped out onto the road and pointed her gun at the driver. The driver stopped the stage as fast as she could say halt!
He let go of the reins and held up his hands. There were some commotion coming from inside the stage.
“Get out of the stage!” She yelled in a deeper voice.
The doors for the stage opened and three people stepped out a young lady with golden hair looking quite intrigued with this hold up, a older woman with gray hair, and a man with black hair and hazel eyes. He smiled at Abigail.
“Everyone back in the coach!” Abigail ordered.
The older woman went, then the girl, then when the man went to go Abigail shouted, “Except for you,” she scowled, “go over there,” she pointed to the side.
“Go!” She ordered. The stage was off in a flash.
“Quite a old up Abby,” the man placed both hand in the pockets of his gray suit pants. He had a matching top with a black bow tied tie.
She took off her handkerchief and let down her hair, “I told you never to come back!” She ordered.
“Wait! Hold on a moment, are you not happy I am here?” He asked surprised.
“I’m not!” She placed a hand on her hip.
“Why?”
“Carly is mine! The law gave her to me, and you will not bring shame into her life!” Abigail spatted.
“Don’t you remember Abby? She is also mine! I will make the court rethink the custody!” He rolled his eyes
“No Todd, I will not permit it! You are leaving, now!” She ordered with anger in every word.
“How? You took my ride.” Todd pointed out.
“Fine! You can stay in Carson City for one night, and tomorrow you are leaving. And don’t come back next time!” She shouted.
“Fine, whatever.” He sighed, “I just thought I could get to know my daughter, but I see you don’t want me to shake your world of lies you have built for Carly. Do you thinks lies will take the pain away from her? Do you think she will just forget she’s mute?!” Todd shouted, “she needs me!”
Abigail was silent for a moment, “No she needs God to save her, if she need to die she would as for Satin’s help!”
~~~
“Do you think they will agree?” Victoria asked.
“Well, we’re both pretty persuasive,” Adam took Victoria’s hand, smiled, and winked.

“Adam?” Little Joe walked into the hotel dining room and saw Adam and Victoria eating dinner and talking. He walked over to Adam with a smirk.

“Little Joe…” Adam sighed then whispered to Victoria, “we need a plan B. and a fake story now…”

“Oh,” Victoria stuttered.

“Hey, who’s this?” Little Joe pointed to Victoria.

Victoria stood up and winked at Adam while having a smirkish smile.

She walked around Little Joe to Adam. He stood up and Victoria wrapped her arms around him in a full embrace, Victoria was whispering a plan into Adam’s ear.

“Tomorrow I leave early, met me here tonight at eight. I’m in room 13. Oh and the story can have something to do with this,” she chuckled then back away. She looked to Little Joe in disgust, “Goodbye Darling, too bad my stay wasn’t longer,”

“Uh,” Adam stuttered, “agreed, goodbye…”
And with that Victoria walked away.

“Who was that?!” Little Joe smiled.

“Oh, none of your business, just someone I met, that’s all…” Adam picked up his hat, left two dimes on the table and walked out of the hotel with Little Joe behind him.
~~~
Abigail walked into her house, greeted by her children.
“I’m sorry guys, but Victoria has been delayed till tomorrow,” Abigail frowned.
“Ah,” Luke and Hugh both sighed and sat back down in their seats. Everyone went back to what they were doing before Abigail had arrived.
Luke was whittling, Hugh reading, but Carly was standing before Abigail with her doll in her hands.
“Hey, want to go play with dolls?” Abigail got down on her knees and asked Carly.
Carly’s face lit up as she grabbed Abigail’s hand and led her to her room.
~~~
Adam walked into the hotel dining area and met Victoria there.

“My coach is leaving, so I don’t have much time… but I do want to say I think your plan is marvelous.” She fluttered her eyelashes.

“Why thank you,” he put his arms around her and chuckled.

“Think Little Joe will suspect something?” She asked.

“Not if we look interested in each other,” he motioned with his eyes to a table in the corner of the room where Little Joe was sitting.

She raised an eyebrow chuckled and got a little closer to Adam. She looked into his eyes and responded, “I think I can give him that idea, but in a different way…” she smirked.

“Oh! Now I’m scared!” He teased.

“Oh…” she said with giggles, then her voice became normal and deeper, “you should be,” she raised an eyebrow, smirked, pulled away, and slapped him across the face! This drew attention from all directions.

Adam was shocked and held his red cheek with his hand, “What was-,”

“Adam Cartwright if you ever-!” Adam interrupted Victoria.

“Quiet!” He hushed.

“Don’t tell me what to do! Adam Cartwright if you ever- I don’t know what I would do, if you-!” Adam now was rushing Victoria out of sight and out of the room.

“You- you monster!” She shouted.

“Okay, okay!” Adam hushed her, she stopped her shouting, “what was that?!”

“Now your brother thinks something,” she smirked.

“Now I have to come up with some sort of story to make up for that!” He rolled his eyes.
“Yes, but your really good at that,” she smiled.

“Oh whatever!” He sighed.

“Oh! I better be going!” Victoria ran to the doors of the hotel and ran back to Adam. She hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek, “Bye,” she smiled.

“Bye,”

“So… the fight didn’t last long,” Little Joe stood in the doorway of the dining room and the lobby, “I see you two have already made up,” Little Joe giggled his high pitched giggle.

“Uh, Joe…” Adam stuttered and cleared his throat.

“Umm…”

“You said I was good at this job,” he whispered to Victoria.

“You are…” she whispered back, “bye.” She gave a slight smile, waved, and ran across the street to the coach that awaited her.

“I gotta-uh-go pick up some uh-... sugar… see you back at the ranch.” Adam sighed, put his hat on slanted, walked out of the hotel, and whispered to himself, “I am?” He referred to what Victoria had said.
