Green Valley Riding StablesJennifer: Active prances under my firm hand on the trail behind Anna and Jazz. Suddenly, a crow
cries. Active spooks and bucks, throwing me up on his neck, then bolting ahead and pushing past Jewel and Cream. Suddenly, Active turns onto a side path. As I'm struggling to get hold of my reins again, I scream as Active neighs and screeches to a halt and the end of the path, for the path is a cliff and leads right over the stream! But Active is too late. What seems like in slow motion, we fall into the fast flowing stream. "Help!" I scream as I go under the water. Active neighs. I try to hold onto his reins, but I can't. I let go and Active floats away from me, the strength of the river pulling us both. I see a rock sticking out of the water, and quickly as I'm going by it, I grab onto it and hold on. Active neighs again, but keeps going down the stream until I can see him no more. "Anna, Jazz, someone...HELP!" |
