Lucky had no idea why her friends were arguing. Her mind was only on Spirit. He hadn't shown up at her house this morning, and she was STILL waiting for him after school.
"We'll wait with you," said Pru. Abigail agreed, "Yeah, we wouldn't want to leave you behind!"
"No, PALs, it's fine. You guys have chores to do. Tell you what: I'll wait here for Spirit while you guys get Chica Linda and Boomerang ready for a ride. Then I'll meet you at the barn when Spirit shows up." Lucky saw that Pru was thinking it over. "Umm...okay," Pru said. Lucky waved goodbye to her friends and turned her focus to the horizon, waiting for her beautiful buckskin friend to show up.
SPIRIT'S POV
Spirit was sure there was something wrong with his mind. He NEVER forgot to go to Lucky before and after school. As he galloped over a ridge, the schoolhouse came into view, and standing in front of it was Lucky. He whinnied to her, and she waved. "Hi, Spirit!"
As soon as he arrived, he lifted his hoof, allowing her to climb on. And they galloped to the barn together.
