Title: Racer
Author: Rabbit08 (me!)
Poem

A racer horse
like me
runs away from
the whip.
Making sure
I don't get
smacked.
The exertion
I am sweating
and
*Crowd Roars*
we win.
Patted down
breathing hard
adrenaline
coursing through me
happiness
of pleasing my
person.
"Good job!"
they say.
I whinny
happy.
At my stable
pictures
taken
in the paper
crossing the line
Triple Crown
pleasing my
people
good feeling.
People call me
Racer
Race Horse
Quick
but I
call myself
at home.
But now
I'm old
in a cart.
going
somewhere.
Where?
I really
don't know.
I see
a person
whipping me forward
the whip
gives me
strength
in the races
but I am
too old.
Why?
People
cheering
I am
happy.

Title: Autumn Time
By: Nat2

Autumn leaves
Brown and gold and deep, deep red
Crunching underfoot, rustling softly
Whispering secrets to each other
Secrets no one else can hear
Gray-blue sky
Reflecting sunbeams
Down onto the earth
Into the dark places
Where shadows gather
Breezes billow
Ruffle the air
Stir the leaves on the ground
Swirling them in a whirlpool of color
The forest is a beautiful place
In autumn's time
Quiet, peaceful
Full of mysteries to be discovered
On a perfect day
For you and me
To walk through the forest
In autumn.

Violet and the Unicorn
Varonnica

Violet, a 14 year old girl had enchanting powers. She had been adopted, and her new parents found out about them about a few months after being with her. They knew if they told her off to the government, they wouldn't have the perks of having her powers. Violet had a limit to her powers, and if she was sick, her powers wouldn't work. She had the ability of sorcery, a powerful power of being able to see into the future, Flying, and granting wishes. Of course, Where were her real parents? Violet had always wondered where they were.

Violet sometimes had to fake that she was sick, that way she wouldn't have pain from uses of magic. Her foster parents didn't care though, they just wanted to use her powers so they can have the perks of them. But like any other 14 year old, she had to go to school. Violet was popular in a mutual way. Meaning that a lot of people knew her, and she was on a lot of sport teams, but no one ever texted her on social media and she wasn't part of large crowds and drama. Which was kinda good on her side.

Violet had to walk home, not ride the bus. Which was hard for her because she had to carry a 35lbs saxophone. She was in band, so she had to keep it close and practice it. Her powers of course wouldn't work if they needed to grant wealth and being very good at something, which Violet had always questioned. Violet shook her head and kept walking up the dirt road. She was in horse country, so she had always loved the place that she lived in because of it. One of her neighbors had moved out and another person had moved in. They had a horse, but it was worn down and it always looked like it needed a trim and it was just very scruffy looking. Its coat though, was a beautiful deep black. And its mane and tail were very long and was extremely curly compared to the other parts of its body.
Her parents always bring over cookies whenever a new family or household had moved in or even out. But Violet was never aloud sugar. The only chance of having something sweet was when she was alone and if her friends were considerate enough to bring some chocolate when lunch at school came along. Violet had taken a break from walking and rested near a patch of grass and sat with her back aggensted a white fence post. She started to feel biting and she looked down at her arm. A black ant had bitten her. She brushed it off, and then put two fingers over the bite. In about three seconds, the pain had stopped and the bite and redness had went away. She smiled and wondered why she never had powers worked when she got sick from using them to much. Violet had wondered a lot, but her questions never were solved.
Violet had not been paying attention of what was behind or in front of her. A warm muzzle had touched her arm and she jumped up, screaming. She looked at what had did it. It was the black horse. She had calmed down and smiled at the enchanting beauty. But something was different about this horse then any other. It had a horn-like structure out of its forehead. Violet studied the structure and touched it. The horse was not a horse, but a unicorn. She had read about them. Unicorns had powers to conceal their looks so they can hide their horn. But Violet could see them because she also had powers. Her brain popped an idea in her head and a large light bulb was present. Violet could use the unicorns powers to help her pain from using them.
Violet wanted to get home faster by flying, but the saxophone was her handicap. So she just had to carry it. She also had continued on home, only thinking about the unicorn. She had always wanted a horse but.. her foster family didn't let it happen. Violet had a journal, similar to a diary. But she kept it concealed with her powers. She started writing about the black enchantress. In the corner of the page, she started to draw a picture of it. She had always enjoyed drawing and she also took a class on it in high school. The picture was nearly Identical. The scruffs on the coat, the burrs in her mane, and around the top of her head, some nice roses and orchids to symbol a design of her youth and every ebony. The corners that is.
She had ate and did some yoga before practicing her saxophone, and then took a shower. She came out and unraveled her hair from the towel. Her thick, lushish brown curls fell to her hip. Spraying a few sprits of hair spray and beginning to brush her hair, she stared at her corner of her mirror, looking at the top page she had ripped off of her diary and pinned to the corner of the mirror of the unicorn. Her green eyes drifted off into space, imagining her riding the unicorn. At least her parents had let her get a dog, she thought. Lassy, named after the great Lassy of the movies, had sat by her feat at her make-up stand where she sat and brushed her hair at and styled her looks of her outfits and makeup everyday. Lassy got up and sat her head on her thigh and looked up at her. Lassy knew what was going on and so did Violet.

Tune in for next month and get even more up close and personal with Violet and the Unicorn ;) Have any questions? W-Mail me!

The Horse on the Hill
by Julie N

The Horse on the hill
Had just eaten its fill

When all of a sudden,
came a fox from a den.

It was startled
and was rattled

and ran to great safety,
so no one where he lived had seen him lately.

After a startling long race,
she met a kind face.

And the girl said,
" Dear horse, you have bled!"

And the horse replied,
"I cannot lie,

I have run a great race
to now see your wondrous face.

I will love you,
I will protect you.

I will carry you great distances,
like a rocket o'er great fences.

And may the Lord bless you and keep you
so that you may ride me."

Silver Pony or Gold Pony?
by jeppocat

Silver Pony,
Gold Pony,
Which would you choose?

The Gold one is like a star.
Not like one in the sky,
but where the best shows are.
Beautiful and gorgeous,
she trots and she struts.
She is a winner all right,
no ifs, ands, or buts.

The Silver one stays
away in her stable.
She would like to be a star,
but she just isn't able.
She knows the gold pony has several
trophies & ribbons galore,
and only heaven knows,
she'll gain even more!

The silver pony however,
has something that may not
sound important for a start.
It is a factor she's kind
and is "good at heart."

Now here is a thought I must request.
Which pony is do you think is "the best?"

It's your choice.
Choose well.
