Whisper
By DiamondIce

My horse is a whisper,
She's a melody,
She's a song.

But her name I will never know.

Her hooves are made of diamonds,
Her mane of threads of gold.
Her whinny a tune of peace and bliss,
Her heart carved out of stone.

My horse is a whisper,
She's a melody,
She's a song.

But her name I will never know.

A Letter To My Horse
By Adeline HC

I hope to never endure a Christmas without you. You are too loved to be gone at such a joyous time. You are far too special to me. So I am thankful you are here with me. I give you the gift of my love for yet another year. Yes, there is a new year coming. One that I must make new hopes for. They are mostly about you, I must say. Thank you for being by my side when everyone else wasn't. Thank you for keeping my secrets. Thank you for listening, and keeping your opinion to yourself. Thank you for knowing what I need. Thank you, my best friend. Thank you.

Ripple
By DiamondIce

Beautiful stallion,

I see your mane ripple.
Like your ocean eyes,
And stormy soul.
It ripples like a crashing wave.
Annoyed by its disturbance.

I see your eyes staring into mine.
Like a diamond sword piercing my chest.
Your gaze leaves me breathless,
Overcome by awestruck disbelief.

I hear your hooves beating against the tarmac.
A constant beat,
That vibrates within my conscious mind.
I welcome the feeling.
It is warm and freeing,
It leaves me content.

Beautiful stallion.

Hannah's Dream

Chapter 2

Well, I did it, I convinced my mom to take us out to see the Horses on Wheels place. We are going in two days and I can not wait! I am super excited, but also a little nervous, I mean I love horses, but I am still a little unsure how I am going to ride. I mean from what I read english riding is mostly done with the lower part of your body, and that is part I can't move, so I guess I will have to see how it works when I go. Let me tell you how I convinced mom to let me go. It started last week, I was talking to Nate, the other kid in my school about Horses on Wheels and he said "It took a while to convince my dad mom that I should go, but the main thing that tipped the scale was when I told her about Anna Jefferies." Ok let me tell you about Anna Jefferies, Anna Jefferies is an amazing dressage rider. She has been on the list to go to the Olympics three times, but what is special about Anna is the she has a walking disability, she can walk but she needs special crutches to do it, and she went to a place called Horses and Hearts when she was younger and learned to ride. She continued to learn as she got older and then went on to start compete. Anyway when Nate told me about talking to his mom about Anna, I knew I could convince Mom to let me go if I followed the same tactic. So that day, I went home and sat my mom down and told her what Nate had told me. All about Horses on Wheels and most importantly, about Anna Jefferies. When I finished, my mom was silent for a minute then said. "Ok, ok I guess we are going to that Horses On Wheels place." I gasped. "Realy, you mean it? Oh thank you, thank you, thank you." I hugged my mom then reached down and hugged my service dog Hope. I cant beleive it, I did it. I can not wait till next week when we go!

Colour Means Horse To Me
By DiamondIce

Red is my anguish,
Orange is my distaste,
Yellow is my moment of confidence,
Green is my curiosity,
Blue is my heart on winter's day,
Purple is my question to the world,
Pink is my anxiety pulling the strings of nerves.

But the rainbow is my horse.
Who makes me feel everything at once.
All my feelings collide and create...
Love.

Emily’s Angel

By SWC

Hi. My name is Emily. I’m twelve and I live on a farm in the mountains. We own pigs, chickens, cows, goats, and of course, horses.
Yesterday was the best day of whole life! I guess I should start at the beginning. A few weeks ago I found out my pony Gypsy was going to have a foal! I thought I couldn’t get any happier until my parents told me I could keep the foal for my own! Maybe I’ll just tell you how the whole day went. I’ll start in the morning just as my mom was coming downstairs.
“Emily! Up!” My mom shouted as she trudged downstairs.
“Hi mom! I’ve been up for hours! I thought you might never get up!” I was sitting at the table with a plate of bacon and eggs for my mom.
“Oh! You have been getting up so early lately.”
“That’s because Gypsy is going to have her foal any day now! Oh right! Dad left early today and said to tell Jesse to do his chores for him.”
“Are you sure he didn’t tell you BOTH to do his chores?” My mom raised her eyebrow as she sat down at the kitchen table with her breakfast.
“Well, I might have missed a couple words.” I confessed.
“Uh huh. That’s what I thought. Go get your brother up and get to work.”
I ran upstairs burst open Jesse’s door.
“Get up! Time for chores!” I shouted.
“Umph.” He rolled over and pulled the covers over his head.
“Teenagers can be so annoying!” I thought.
“Come on I need your help!” I rolled my eyes.
“Get out of my room!”
“Ok, I guess I’ll just give your bacon and eggs to the dogs.”
Jesse leapt out of his bed.
“Like I said out of my way!” He said over his shoulder as he ran the stairs. I shook my head in wonder. I’ll never understand teens.
A couple hours later I was walking back to the house when I heard a whinny coming from Gypsy’s stall. I ran over to her and found her on the ground rolling back and forth. I raced out of the barn and into the house.
“Mom! Mom! Gypsy’s having her foal right now!”
My mom grabbed her cell phone and called the vet.
I ran back to the barn and over to Gypsy’s stall. I couldn’t believe my eyes. There, laying down beside Gypsy was the smallest foal I had ever seen. She was the perfect image of her mother with a golden mane, dark chocolate coat, and big brown eyes.
I opened the stall door carefully and knelt down beside the two ponies.
“Gypsy.” I whispered. “Your amazing.” I felt tears of pride prick my eyes. My pony was so amazing. And now, I had two. Two, amazing, lovely, ponies.
“I know who you are.” I said to the little filly. “Your my little Angel.” I turned to Gypsy.
“Lets see if Angel can stand up.” Gypsy got to her feet and I followed. I gently touched Angel on her side and she tried to get up. Gypsy snuffled Angel’s ears as if to say, Come on, you can do it!
Angel finally struggled to her feet. I smiled as wide as I possibly could have. I threw my arms around Gypsy and cried. I cried tears of the purest joy.
“Well. I don’t think there will be any problems with these two.”
I turned to see the vet’s face. I knew her because she came here often to check our animals.
“I’ll just give these two a quick once over.” She said.
A few minutes later the whole family, including my dad, was staring at Gypsy and Angel.
“Just as I thought.” The vet said. “These two are as healthy as the could be.”
Everyone whooped and cheered.
Later that night, just before bed, I went into Gypsy’s stall again. She lowered her head at me.
“Oh Gypsy. This was the best day of my life.” I hugged her.
Angel popped her head out from behind her mother’s tail. She trotted over to me on wobbly legs and thrust muzzle into my side.
“Ha ha! Oh Angel, I think you’ll fit in just fine.”
I ran back to the house and up to my room. Just before I turned out the light I tacked up the picture I took of Angel and Gypsy just after the vet left.
The rest of the night I dreamed of when Angel would be bigger. Riding bare back along the mountain range. I couldn’t wait or the next day.

Flight
By HW(HorseWisperer)

I rushed up from my dream of flying
I rushed up from my dream of Aurora
I pulled up my pants
We pulled out of the drive
I dream't again of flying

We arrive at the place
I jumped out of the car
I ran into the building
I ran into the barn
All the way thinking of flying

I flew down the aisles
I searched every one
I knew I would find her
If I found her stall
I wanted to fly

"There she is" I cried
And rushed to her side
I threw my arms around her
I breathed in her scent and then I dremp'd
I dremp'd we were flying.

What felt like hours later
I was on her back
I kicked my heels
She neighed and she reared
and then off we flew

As she ran
I threw up my hands
I laughed and laughed and laughed
I fell back on her neck
And then I dremp'd
But, I knew we where flying

Galloping Free
By Plascalis

Fire danced along the mud washed body that sat behind. The water tips flew across the silver sea shore and dissolved into the sinking sand. As the sun made its way into the darkness of the lime silk grass hills, that lay right beside the velvet sand, in the distance of the sea it made a illusion of islands that might carry hidden treasure. The horses shoes marks were leaving a trail on the melted sand and vanishing after the single touch of the bubbly water. The man creeped up behind the galloping horses and hurdling them up to go back into the hills.

The water droplets came down like glass shattering into pieces. Their manes flowing behind them like a snow blizzard along with the scratchy tails. The sunlight made a pale beige colour on the crashing droplets like whip cream dripping off your chocolate melting sundae.
Engaging waves made a miniature storm with an antique rustic ship in a bottle sailing towards the mainlands. Muscular chest that looks like an Olympic champion weightlifter, and fine boned head that resembles the American Saddlebred bloodlines. The gazing sun was once leaving everyone in dust to add more grains of Sahara sand but it began to fall to the sudden glowing night.

The mysterious stranger came behind on one of the winter faded Camargue. Hissing sand from the gripping hoof flew for the first time in their life, but landed in the soft chunky sand that was run over by the sizzling water. Step by step they got closer to the colour fresh grasslands. It was like the horses became camels and were walking through the rattlesnake deserts. Cracking shells into pieces like a worn out obsolescent clock. Reflections were faded in the water like if it was an actual mirror and the spreading heat hid the reflection.

"Definition of the Horse"
By Adeline HC

Horses lend us the wings we lack
They encourage us not to look back
Horses have the ears to listen
To love us is a decision
We love the spirit that they bring
Horses are everything.
