THE TEST

I eyed the obstacle. I was running toward it. Closer. Closer. I was nervous. I might not have made it if the girl riding on my back whispered something in my ear. I got up all my nerve. I summoned all my courage. I gently lifted from the ground and soared over the jump. We made it! Me and my favorite girl together.

My first time riding a horse was when I was6 years old. I was so excited and I could tell my pony was too. My instructor said I was a natural. The feeling of being on my horse have me my passion. Ever since that day I have ridden Button like a pro. I never wanted to compete yet we both knew we would do well. Our bond was so strong that when my parents said I had to stay at my Grandparents for two weeks I cried my entire stay. When I got back home Button was waiting for me. My parents told me that she hadn't eaten much the entire time I was gone and wouldn't play with the other horses. I wrapped my arms around her neck and told her I would never leave her again. 2 years later I was training with my instructor and Button turned up lame. I cried while the vet examined her leg. He declared that she would have to be put down if it didn't heal quickly. I turned to Button and promised that we would fight this together. My parents helped me bandage her leg and prepare her stall for healing. For months I slept in the barn with my best friend, tending to her leg and praying that it would heal. One morning I woke up and opened my eyes. For a moment I panicked because Button wasn't lying next to me, but I saw her standing above me, chewing her hay. I cried with joy and jumped up to give her a big hug. Then I ran to the house and woke up my parents. "Mom, Dad!! She's better!" I hugged my parents and say on the couch while they called the vet. He later confirmed that she would be safe to ride in a few more weeks. I went to the barn and began to work with her, massaging her legs and feeding her a soft mash. I gently groomed her and led her into the corral. "You'll be nice and strong before summer comes," I told her happily. Years later we have the strongest bond ever. I would never give up on my best friend.

Hello Violet,
I say to my pony
And then I enter her stall
I grab the curry comb
And brush her real good
She sighs and leans on the wall
I smile and know
She likes it a lot
I then use the dandy brush
She nickers when I
Put it away
It's like she is saying,
Hey what is the rush!
I love my pony
So so so much
I pat her and tell her
I do and then
I grab her mane
To go for a ride
And then I turn down the lane.

"Yes or No?" Said Mrs Greenland.

This is my time to shine, I could accept the scholarship which means I will learn new things and have the time of my life at the most prestigious riding school in Europe or I could say no and go home back to my riding school and stay with my family.

I turn to my mum and she gives me a nod. I hope this is the right choice...

"Mrs Greenland, I choose..."

Real magic
Part 1
by SWC

Did you ever wonder what it would be like if you found magic? Well I did. But it would make way more sense if started from the start.

"Bye mom! I'll be home around 3:00!" I rushed to shove on my chaps.

"Hold on Mia!" My mom put a possesive hand on my shoulder. "Don't go anywhere you're not familiar with. And don't go with anyone you don't know. Actually, don't go with anyone at all!"

I rolled my eyes. My mom could be so over protective! "Mom! I'll be fine! See ya later!" I rushed out the door before my mom said I couldn't go at all.

I ran all the way over to my neighbor's farm. They owned three horses and said I could ride any of them whenever I wanted.

When I got there I ran into the barn and grabbed my favorite horse's tack. Then I unbolted Tank's stall and tacked him up. The friendly percheron stood still while I mounted him. When I was on his back I kicked him into a trot. I rode all the way t my very favorite little meadow.

I gazed up into the calming blue sky. I closed my eyes and then fell asleep.

When I woke up it was getting dusky out. My mind was foggy but when I looked around I saw something was amiss. Suddenly my mind cleared and that's when I realized that I wasn't in the same meadow at all!

"Tank must have moved away when I fell asleep n his back! Ohhhhhh Nooooooo!" I slid off Tank's back and landed on the ground with a thump. I knew I'd never make it home in time before it got dark.

"Mom will never trust to go riding alone again! Oh Tank! This is all your fault! If you had just stayed put this wouldn't have happened!" Tank hung his head like he was ashamed. "Oh Tank. I'm sorry. I can't blame you." I hugged him as I felt tears well up in my eyes.

I sat down on the ground and Tank laid down beside me. "I don't know what to do boy." I leaned int him and closed my eyes again and remembered what happened to my sister. She got lost in the woods one day and had to stay there all night. In the night a fire started and she barely escaped with her life! The bad is that it made her blind though.

I wished with all my heart that I would be safe tonight. I leaned into Tank's warm side even more. I hugged him and fell into a deep dreamless sleep.

The Little Pony
By 123Liliana

Hi little pony,
Are you lonely?
I would ride you
And name you Lou
If only I could
Then I would
But for now, little guy
Let's look at the sky
And dream of the day
I come take you away.

The Accident
Part 1
By 123Liliana

"Bye dad!" I called, waving to my father, who was standing in the doorway of our snug cottage. He waved back, and then he went back inside. I smiled happily. I was going over to my best friend's ranch, Falling Waters. We were going to ride her two horses together, Buddy and Storm Cloud. "Hi Stephanie!" I raced over to my friend as soon as I saw her. "Hi Jamie, it's so good to see you!" We laughed and spun in a circle and then linked hands, walking toward her huge house. "Let's get the lunch Mom is packing, and then we can go get the horses. Dad and Josh are grooming them for us!"
"Well, well Steph! Looks like your friend is here, doesn't it?"
"Hi Mrs. Evans," I said politely. After greeting Stephanie's mom we headed outside. The horses were all tacked up and waiting. "Hello Storm (she was called that for short)," I said to the big, flea bitten gray mare. Suddenly, the big horse reared and slashed at the sky, which had become gray, with her hooves. As I was admiring the horse, so neatly pasted against the sky, Stephanie yelled. "LOOK OUT !" She cried. She was to late. Before I knew what was happening, Storm came down, right onto my head. Everything became dark.

Part 2 coming soon!
