my poem for the nest contest:
Walking along the Road,
Pondering in my mind,
wondering what I will find,
Then he came,
my beautiful pride,
pure black in color,
Smooth in stride,
touching his smooth, sleek body,
my beautiful,
he never was mine,
as he is a free spirit,
but my heart filled with pride,
never a doubt in my mind,
my beautiful pride

Those darned reptiles--you can't trust them as far as you can throw them. | Nat2 & The Price of Valor |

Hello! Don't worry I escaped the dreaded reptiles! It was tough battle but I won! (sarcastic laugh) Actually I was really busy with school starting again but today I made time! And yes you can post a poem that isn't horse related but the ones for the contests here should be. :)) | SWC & Starsight |

SWC! I thought the commie iguanas had gotten you for sure!
All righty, I'll clean up the poor rhythm and try to scrawl down an actual end to it and then post it to see what y'all think. You'll have to promise not to laugh in my face at its pure awfulness though. | Nat2 & The Price of Valor |

In my head I am free
No one stopping me
In my head I will be
A new person riding free
The pressure of life
The wild cry
But my horse
My horse
When I am right
Up in the morning
Up in the night
I ride
Only ride
Just look at me
I only ride
I am riding free

Here's the poem I was working on finishing while y'all were chatting. *hides head* It's probably horrible. On the bright side I found a word to rhyme with "end".
HELLO?
Has anybody seen me?
Does anybody care?
Is there anybody looking?
Is there anybody there?
Are you counting all the seconds
As they still refuse to stay?
Like hot desert sand through fingers
They all softly slide away.
If I went away tomorrow
If I turned my back and fled
Would you wait a while to miss me?
Would you hear what I had said?
All these moments that are slipping
From my life like autumn leaves
Like the raindrops that are dripping
From a lonely cabin’s eaves—
I will never know their number
Or the things they could have said
And I’ll always have to wonder
What would happen if, instead,
We had taken just a little time
And spent it sparingly
And puzzled at each other’s lives
And what was meant to be.
If I never gain my life back
If I’m meant to be alone
If there isn’t any future
And if time is turned to stone—
Then we’ll always have this moment
You and I so far apart
Where we watched as it was finished
When it didn’t even start.
Will we ever know what happened?
Will we find out what could be?
Or will we always end up missing
All the things that we should see?
I will always keep you waiting
You will always do the same
And we’ll never ever learn
Who deserved to have the blame.
So I’ll be waiting here tomorrow
Where your yesterday will end—
In the place beyond our knowing
You may need to have a friend.
