Hearts for Horses Rescue Centre Thank you for volunteering at our horse rescue centre. We can always use more volunteers. Our purpose here is to help rejected unwanted horses. We give them a second chance when no one else will. Based on your skills I, Hannah F, will assign you with a horse that you will rehabilitate, train, and sell to the best owner possible. A new horse will arrive every once in a while, and if you are qualified, will take on the responsibility. If you are already assigned with a horse and no one else doesn't have one, you might end up taking care of two horses. This is a responsibility beyond playing with ponies, but if you think your ready, I do too.

Sky- "Thanks." I say. I trot Pegasus around once more then turn him towards the jump. We move into a smooth canter and take the jump. "How did he look?" I ask Evie. RM- How was your guys' Christmas?	Ponygal103 & Sai

RM- Great! We sat around and ate food till we could barely sit up then we stayed up late until we could barely sit up. All and all it was a day of mostly lying around.	SWC & Starsight

Sky- "Ok, we'll take it again, then raise it up some more." I say. Pegasus takes the jumps again, lifting his back legs well over the bar. "Okay, put it up again." I say to Evie.	Ponygal103 & Sai

Cody- A truck pulls up into the drive way. A man hops out and gives a scowl. "Hi. I'm Cody." I say. He shoves a small stained booklet into my hand. "Take the retch. I don't care what you do with it just take it." I stare with a stunned expression. He unhitches the beat up trailer angrily. "Jus' didn't want its blood on my head." He mumbles so I can barely hear. Not bothering to unload, he throws the hitch of the trailer on the ground violently and gets back into the dirty red pick up. He drives off kicking a cloud of dust into my face. It takes me moment to realize what had just happened. After I get my bearings I run to back of the truck. I unbolt the door and quietly open it up. A pitch black hoof greets me. I narrowly dodge it as the pinto horse backs violently out of the trailer. Its ears are pinned back flat against its head and its teeth are bared. It rears high into the air. Nothing had it attached to the trailer so it's completely free. I dodge the flying hooves and run the fence where a rope is hanging. I grab it and the burlap sack beside it. I throw the looped end of the rope at the loose horse as rears once more. I narrowly miss and pull it in for another try. This time it loops itself around the horse's neck. The crazy horse is disoriented for a second and I seize my chance. I run quickly to it and throw the sack over its head. I back up again and after a few moments of not being able to see me, the horse calms down. I breath heavily. I make a move toward and it starts. I back away again. I grab the tiny booklet off the ground and look at it. It's in fact just two pages folded together. I unfold them and see that they're registration papers. Some of the writing smudged but I can still make it out. The horse is a 12 year old Pinto mare named Tsunami. "I can see why that name came to mind." I mumble to myself. I know nothing else about this horse, and wonder what had happened to her.	SWC & Starsight

Sky- "Thanks." I say. I turn Pegasus at the end and face the jump. Pegasus snorts and pulls forward, ready to go. "Easy buddy" I say. I rub his neck and then push him into a canter. He runs forward and stretches his neck. I gently pull him back and his canter softens and shortens. At the jump I go into jump position and Pegasus leaps. He clears the jump by almost four inches. After we land and stop I gasp "Wow." I breath "That was incredible. How did we look." I ask Evie.	Ponygal103 & Sai

Evie- Y'all looked great! Just in time too. Here comes the family interested in buying. *a man and his son hop out of a truck and walk up to the arena* Mr. Falls- Hello, I'm Mr. Falls! *he waves* I talked to someone earlier about Pegasus? Evie- *she walks up to the man and his son* Hi, Mr. Falls. *she shakes his hand* I'm Evie. This is Pegasus right here. Mr. Falls- Beautiful horse! Do you mind riding him around the arena? Sky- When the family arrives, I stop Pegasus. "Hi, I'm Sky." I say. "And I would love to show you his paces." I move Pegasus into a walk, then after a while, a trot, and finally a canter.	Ponygal103 & Sai
