A true gift Part (I think 3) Gone? Forever?
By Veronica

I was so scared. Being loaded up in the horse trailer, and worst of all, Never saying goodbye to my mother. Madelyn closed up the horse trailer and my mom walked away. Was that all? She was, going to leave me? I was only two years old. I lied down and closed my eyes. I dreamed about seeing my mother race each other around the paddock. Feeling the mist dapple my coat and little droplets hit the ground and splash on me and my mother. She moved gracefully and was being her, Beautiful. The trailer went over a rock and I woke up as soon as we stopped. We then arrived at this fancy stable and unloaded me into the stall from the trailer. I seen all the other horses staring at me. Like they were saying, "Get out!"

"Great". A black horse said. "Another young rookie in my stable. That kid got nothing on me". He turned to the back of his stall. So did the rest of them.

We got into the paddock to stretch our legs out. "Yo kid"! He said. "What do you say if I got you back with your mommy?
Really"? I replied.
"Yeah.
Well, ugh. Ok!
"Ok so first you need to go up to that big white stallion and tell him to meet you over here.
If it gets me back to my mother, I'll do it!
Great now go"! I raced over there and said, "Hey"!
He turned around and was 10 times bigger than me. "What do you want you sausage. Hey take that back! What are you going to do about it? Call your mommy". He laughed and so did everyone and they went over to the other paddock to graze. "Are you ok down there"? I turned around and seen the most beautiful white mare. "Y-yea-yeah I-I- I'm fine. Are you sure? You got teased by your, well, umm, foes". I stood there speechless. And soon enough she walked away with a puzzled look.

The big race was in a week or two, And all of us started training. We went on horse protein food and fields with wild grass with the morning dew on it. I soon found out that the mare I spoke with was one of the breeding mares. Then, I thought. Maybe if I win this race, it will drive her to me and I will have her all to myself. "Good luck with that". A horse said next to me. "What do you mean? Well, there are many stallions out there that have bred a lot of times to know the way around the race. Plus, the winner gets to breed with that mare you were talking about". He walked away and lied down. Then I looked at everyone. They were so buff and I didn't stand a chance. "I WANT OUTA HERE"! I used my back hooves to break the stable door. "Wao kid, you need to stop! NO IM GETTING OUTA HERE EVEN IF IT KILLS ME"! I then broke the stable doors and ran outside. Then realized, it was dark. And worst of all, I didn't know the way home. I started walk through a wheat field trying to pick up my moms scent. And the way home.

Midnight
Part one: Out Of Rose's Eyes
By Beebee

One day I was walking home from school, it had been a long day filled with stuff that makes me tired just thinking about it anyway, I passed by Middle Medow the medow that separated Price county and Iddle county. there use to be a barn there with animals of every kind in it, but the barn got burned down and all the animals fled. Today was different, usely it had one or 2 deer in the medow but I saw something different. something black. beeing the courios kid I am I ran into the medow to find a black horse. He was 14 hands high and had on a new brown saddle and bridle. I ran over there leaving my backpack behind and mounted it. I know it was SUPER dunb of me to get on a horse I just found without a helmet or knowing if it was tame or not, but I did. I just did. I rode home and when I got there I put him out in the pasture. My horse just died 1 month ago, his name was Pizza. I was 5 when I got him, and he was cream a color with red spots on him so you can see why I named him that.
I went into my bedroom and took the Pizza's halter. I wroght 'Midnight' on the faded wrighting that said 'Pizza' and took it out to Pizza's stuff.

At dinner my Mom and Dad were talking.
"Today there was this black stallion was in Ruby and Cug's pasture. It was doing fine with the other horses but I still don't know what to do with it,"My dad said. I slunked down in my chair.
"I gotta'...... go finish my homework," I said as I left the table. I ran out to the barn to see Midnight. As long as they did't know it was mine I was safe. For now.

Life's Promise Part 1
By Varonnica

It was a cold windy night. Rain of sleet and damping the fields. As a young palomino mare lied quietly for life's promise. The stallion stood in the stall on my far right. Hoping to see his sire. I then felt something wet all over my stall. Then I realized, my water broke.

I didn't care about a little water in my stall. I cared about Life's Promise to give me the best filly I would ever have. I then started to grunt and push. I got up and walked in a circle for a bit. After that I lied down again and pushed and pushed and pushed.

A few more pushes and my beautiful palomino colt entered the world. I breathed heavily and lied there. I stood up and had a nice drink of water. Then turned my intentions to my new foal.

She was much lighter than her mother. A silver coat. With a striking white mane. Nevermore, he had his mothers jeans in him to have a huge heart for and lungs for racing. And his fathers jeans for long legs for big strides and having the power to race all day, without a single break.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I stood up on my long legs while my mother licked me clean with her warm tongue. I fell down and tried again. A few time more and I was up. Mother was still licking me. I then smelt the rich warm milk coming from underneath her large belly and started to suckle once I found it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the storm...

My coat was still silver as can be. And my mom still kind of tired from last night. I didn't know why. I was REALLY energized today. But like any other mother would do, she called for her two legged family to take a gander at her son.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I heard the horses neighing and got dressed and went out into the barn to see what was going on. Lassie, my black and white sheep dog, followed. I opened up the barn that was smelling like the rain from last night. I seen Ni Ink I (My horse) sticking her head and of the barn and doing all the neighing. "What's the matter girl". I went up to her stall and seen her beautiful filly standing next to her looking afraid of me. "Aw, he's a cutie. Hold on, I'm going to tell the folks". I patted her forehead and went dashing for the house. Lassie trailed behind me.

"Mom dad guess what? What honey"? My mom said. "Ni Ink I had her filly! Oh that's wonderful what should we name her". Hmm... I thought. "What about, Le Ah Hiya? That's a great name honey". My mom said taking a sip of her morning coffee. Is there anything you want me to do? Well, maybe some of your house chores? Okay". I kissed her while she was reading the Sunday edition newspaper.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The humans put me and my filly out in the paddock to graze and stretch out our legs. Le Ah Hi Ah went and ran all day long while I grazed under the apple tree's. And found some ripe apples for some apple pie. I neighed at my owners mom. She came outside with her large sunhat. "So, you want me to pick up these apples for some apple pie"? I shook my head as in saying yes and my real owner smiled and did the same. "Well, I do want some apple pie". She hopped over the gate and used her sunhat as a basket then went back inside to start on the pie.

Will our Friendship last? Chapter 1
By: Varonnica

Introduction: Meet the Beautiful Black-White Pinto mare named Patches. After a incident with her young owner, Jamie, a jumping champion, Patches was sent away for nearly a year never seeing her rightful owner. When they soon meet will their friendship come to a end?

One spring Morning

It was a cold morning, the seasons had changed to summer and the days grew hot and miserable. But Jamie seen the calendar, and tis was the day that she would see her Beautiful mare once again from the incident that landed Jamie in the hospital. It happened to be in the stalls and Patches snapped and trampled her owner for no reason. Jamie went to her dresser and started to curl her long, silky, thick blond hair and put it in a Pony Tail. She then put on her robe and went into the kitchen to have some breakfast.
She seen her mom and dad at the table eating and looking through the newspaper. "Morning honey". My mom said. "Morning". I responded. Dad didn't comment because he was nose-deep in the newspaper in the tool selection. Mom on the other hand was drinking coffee and reading People Magazine.
After breakfast, I put on my clothes and put a sunhat on. Mom was waiting at the front door on her phone for me and we then got in the truck with the old horse trailer on it and drove to Patches recovery center.

At the Recovery Center

Patches 'Self Trainer' was holding her red rope hooked to her bridle and standing at the entrance of the barn. We pulled up. I slowly got out of the car and walked towards Patches. She started breathing heavily and digging her left front hoof in the dirt. "Its ok Patches its me, Jamie". She reared up. But we had to take her. If not, Patches would be put down. So we loaded her up carefully and went back home to try and train her.

Back at home

We unloaded her in the paddock and set her free. I took some treats and a bride also a First AID kit with me. And tried to train her, for the up-coming Annual Championship Jumping Contest of the Season.

Look next month for part 2!!!

It was a cold and windy night, I look out the window of my stall. I could barley see over the top of the wood, but I managed to see her. Her dark mane and tail blended in with the blackness, her green glowing eyes were the only sign she was awake. She glanced over at me, my tiny legs weren't long enough for her to clearly see me, but I could see her. My mother, she was a beautiful, award winning dressage horse. But fame is her life, she walked up to my stall and sniffed my nose for what we didn't know would be the last time, in a long, long time.
Morning
When I woke up, so many of them were staring at me. One guy staying great things about my mother, and how I will be just like her, and others shouting out numbers, over and over like a bingo game. Around the time the sun was at its highest, a tall man tied me up and put me in a trailer. I kicked, and whinnied for my mother, but it was too late, I was already moving away.
Training
The man walk up to me and pulled me out of the trailer. He walked me into a barn that looked nothing like the one I live -or lived- in. A quick pat on my rear startled me. I spooked and whinnied, but a calm gentle voice distracted me. When I looked, a young woman cam walking up to me and started talking to the man about how long it would take. "Take what? What am I taking? Why am I taking it?" was all I could think, but all they heard was me snorting and whinnying. When the woman brushed me and put my tack on she walked me to a big pen. The thing on my back was heavy, and the cold metal in my mouth hurts. The lady put her foot in the stirrup, and I took off. I ran as fast as I could, but the fence got in my way. So I turned around and stared right at the lady. I could see the challenge in her eyes, so I ran as hard and as fast as I could towards the fence and I leaped. Hoping I would be ok. I soared right over the top of the arena fence and continued running. I heard the lady yelling at me, but I kept on running. I ran until I could run no more, and I had no clue where I was. I stopped and rested, and before I knew it, I was asleep.
Morning take 2
When I woke up they were staring at me. just this time it was other horses. I couldn't understand a word they said. I was about to take off when a mare, as white as snow, came walking up. Her blue eyes where the color of the ocean and I could see some dapples on her. she walked up and said, "Are you lost?" I just stared blankly. She repeated her self, but I didn't answer. She lifted her hoof and kicked me. I jumped straight up and said, "No, I know exactly where I am." She smiled and walked away, so did the rest of the herd. I followed behind from a distance to watch.
-BANG, BANG, BANG-
Everyone ran, including me. but I was the furthest behind and I fell hard to the ground when I got hit. I laied there, the world spinning, lying still, just thinking. Then all of a sudden, it just stopped.

-To be continued. This story will continued - ;) Thanks for reading

The hope of the herd
By CoolHorseRider7891

The herd runs free. They are fearless, and they never turn back. Ever. They run fast, faster, they are the fastest of them all. By day they run free and graze on sweet-tasting grass and by night they nestle together and sleep under the gleaming stars. But one night, one little horse looked up and sees a shooting star fly by. He makes a wish. The hope of the herd.
