Callie, you don't have to drop out. And discussing movie stars is not illegal, it just doesn't have much to do with homeschooling. If you want to start a movie star discussion group, more power to you.
In life you will discover that 99% of your time is spent on exactly that stuff like homeschooling that most folks don't talk about much.
I'd be interested to know how home schoolers deal with math issues. What if your parent doesn't understand what you are studying?
Or being lonely, since you don't go to a school with lots of other kids.
Or learning to have a good conversation. Stuff like that.
