*** Performer Stables***I don't understand why Kathy is so set against training Diva. If Diva doesn't get trained then you cant ride her because she is afraid.
Marian: LISTEN to me! My mom is going to drive up tomorrow and help Diva get used to you. You can't stop Mom from riding one of her own patients. Mom specializes in this kind of work. She's done it for years. Mom knows Diva's habits like where you can't touch her because she got whipped there like a thousand times. When a horse won't let you do something, it's because the horse is in pain or scared. My and my moms' job, our LIVING, it to help those horses. To heal the horses pain and then to help them realize that something or another wont hurt them and not to be afraid. Suddenly setting a person on a horse that is scared of everyone and finally making some progress is not going to help a bit. In fact, it will be a major set back. If you just suddenly ride her without doing some of my moms exercises to help her like you first you will be wholly responsible for her setback and you could even be sued. Diva is special to me and I'm not letting her do anything that is traumatizing. I LOVE my horse and she might have a heart attack of you just suddenly got on her. She had a very awful reaction when my mom walked by her stall holding a crop that she was going to put away. She reared and screamed and kicked a hole in her wall and her hoof got stuck and she strained her leg badly, almost breaking it. Mom couldn't get near her for weeks. This is the kind of thing I'm not letting happen to MY horse. It could very well happen to her if someone who she didn't know, someone who doesn't know her, came up to her and put a ton of tack on her and tried to ride her. You're not going to TOUCH my horse until my mom gets here. |

(She's not against training Diva, she just doesn't want the horse to rely on the person it is used to, she wants it to be OK with being ridden through a difficult obstical course with a stranger. It involves streamers, feed (every horse's weakness :P) and some tarps. Oh. And the owner of the school is Mrs. Senial)
Mrs. Senial: Kathy! You do not reserve the right to dismiss a student from the school. No matter how annoying and stubborn she may be. *Glares at Marian with iron cold eyes* Young lady, you are not dismissed, but you will not be allowed to ride Diva for 1 week. And not allowed to be in the barn for 2 days. You will be excused from your barn chores except to walk Diva to a arena that is smaller then the lesson arena, more like a paddock, where Kathy will keep her until your mother arrives, in that time, yor banning for Kathy to touch her is lifted, and she will gentle your horse, you will be allowed to watch but NOT interject, your mother will be allowed to object to anything for she is not under ban. And this is not a good way to get off at this school. *She addresses everyone* This is also your punishment if you diside to object to every comprimise we can try and attempt to tell a teacher EXACTLY what to do. Now. You are all excused execpt for Marian, who will go to the barn and walk Diva to the paddock.
(I feel like I should mention that the barn has night time security and that no one will be allowed inside save for Mrs. Senial and anyone with her perrmission given in person to the guards (vet, owner etc) unless the horse is being returned because it has escaped. So no horses can get stolen! Yay! And MM, please don't take this personally, Kathy is just very passionate about helping all horses but gets angry pretty easily and Mrs. Senial is just strict, if you give her her favorite snack *cough cough* Chocolate covered raisens *cough cough* she may shorten your ban on riding Diva.*
Kathy: *I walk up to Marian* Just for the record, I don't use a crop, or load up a horse on a bunch of tack, I believe in riding a horse bareback for the first time. And the way I get a horse to trust me, is letting it come to me. I just plop myself in the center of the arena until the horses curiousity gets the better of it and it comes to check me out. It has worked with Mustangs fresh off the range, I think it will work with Diva. Now. Lets get her into the arena, and show me how much food she gets so her feeding habits don't change. *I smile gently at Marian* No hard feelings right? If I let one student bend the rules, the others will want too, and before you know it, we have injured students because their horses spooked at something in the obstical course that I didn't sense because I wasn't on the horse and the horse spooked at something else and set off a chain reaction with the other horses. I'll work with Mrs. Senial so you can ride Diva sooner. *I lean down and whisper in her ear so no one else can hear her* And visit come with me after we get Diva settled, I have something that might help too. *I walk Marian to the barn* Now, where is this filly I've heard so much about? |

I'm sorry I was so awful, but my horse has actually hurt herself when she is frightened and I just love her so much! There are only two things she is scared of is whips and strange people. When a horse is actually stubborn and is telling me plainly that is isn't going to do something simply because is does not want to, I will slap it, just enough to make it listen and it will be good for me the rest of the ride. I don't actually hurt the horse or anything, just a sting to let them know that they need to listen up. A lead mare in a herd will do the same thing with an unruly horse. A nip or something like that. |

I know how to do it, and I can cue you, or my mom can when she gets here. Oh, and you can try keeping me away for a day or two but I guarantee that she wont eat. I may HAVE to visit her. (RM: On the same note as the way I ended my last post, Yesterday when I rode our friends pony Tex, he was testing me. He wouldn't do a thing I asked him, he'd turn when he wasn't supposed to and not speed up when I asked him to and he wouldn't move over for me either. Leah (my friend) picked a plant for me for a switch and I never had to use it. As soon as I had it he was perfect and really nice. He found out that he wasn't going to get away with being a pill!)
Marian: Here. this is Diva. *Diva jumps back when she sees Kathy.* Whoa girl. Hush. It's okay! *I let myself into her stall and rub her withers till she calms down.* Whoa girl. You see how she is? This is why I- well, you know. *sighs.* Just be really careful please. For my sake. *pauses and thinks for a bit* So she gets a cup of oats and some, um, I think it's bone supplement or something. I forget. Anyhow, she gets it at 3 p.m. and she gets another cup if she exercises. That's all I guess. And, can I please interject if you are about to do something that will frighten Diva? Like touch her in the wrong place or you, well, she just has those kind of problems, and I feel that I need to be able to tell you about them so nothing happens. |

When she does, I slowly stand and turn around, giving the horse time to bolt if it wants, if it does, back down I go. This training relys on the horses natural curiosity. I can work with you and Diva once she's cleared so that she isn't afraid of strange people. I can also just place a crop on a bucket and she'll go and sniff it, her first reaction is probably to stop and stretch out her neck and touch it, then jerk back and bolt, she'll keep doing that until she realises it won't hurt her. |

Gemma: *I walk up to my room to find a care package on Kierra and i's beds* Kierra!
Kierra: *I rip open mine and in a soprano voice sing Hallaluja as I hold up a jumbo tub of Chocolate icing* She still loves me! *I look through and find my model horse collection and 3 more tubs of frosting*
Gemma: *I laugh and open mine to find my movie collection and popcorn seasonings, I check my watch OK, I need to work out a schedule with Mrs. Senail about my work. *I walk to her office*
Mrs. Senail: What.
Gemma: I work at a local tack shop and I was wondering if I could be excused from group lessons if Kathy can tutor me.
Mrs. Senial: Yes, and you need to work to pay off tuition?
Gemma: *nods* For both me and Kierra.
Mrs. Senail: I'll see what I can do. Until then, you can work small shifts in the free times and maybe night shifts.
Gemma: *I nod* Thanks!
Fiyero: *I walk into my room and open my care package and immidiatly do a happy dance* My Xbox! *I look to find all my games as well as a few DVDs and a jar of JIF*
Jack: *I open mine to find a brand new leather foal halter* It'll fit Sky! *I dig deeper and find a couple packages of my favorite snack: Goldfish* I'm going to ask Gemma if she can buy me some Goldfish, I think I'm an addict (Lol, ME)
Fiyero: Sure. But I have a job too you know, I'm working night shifts at a stable, I groom, muck out stalls and excirsice.
Jack: In the middle of the night?
Fiyero: These people are crazy! Good thing too, cuz I get paid $200 a horse, and there are 10!
Jack: $2000 in one night?!
Fiyero: *I nod* I'll keep you covered in Goldfish my friend. |
