Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
I feel that this verse is perfect for the world that we are living in. There is so much evil! Whatever you think is what you do, whether it took you some time to think about it, or if it took you a few seconds. Always think - is it true? Noble? Right? Pure? And so on. :) |

When I was little, I didn't understand WHY I couldn't dress up and WHY I couldn't go to the Halloween parties at my school, until my mom told me this verse. (and I still didn't get it!) Until I really looked into it for myself. My mom said that Halloween is mocking death. So like if you have a loved one that died, on Halloween, it's basically mocking your loved one's death. How is it FUNNY and FUN to be scared on Halloween?! I never go that. :P |
