| Sifpelt-*smiles at her mate *
SIf-*screams and lashes out at the beast that charges at her. It opens wide its jaws and snaps for her forearm. Sif ducks and raises her arm to protect her face. The thing bites at her again but misses, barely striking her forearm with a tooth. It bursts into a cloud of black flames and vanishes* Sifpelt-doubles over in obvious pain and gasps* Thorclaw! Something's wrong! Thorclaw-What? *runs over* Sifpelt! Oh, Sifpelt, what happened? You're. . .you're right foreleg is bleeding! How did it happen? SIf-*staggers to her feet, shocked, and cradles her right arm, which is stinging and bleeding slightly. She frowns at the tiny scratch, feeling weak and dizzy* How can a pathetic little break in the skin do such a-*blackness shrouds her vision and she falls to her knees* Thor-*sees his wife on the ground and immediately throws Mjolnir at another of the beasts. It charges at him and ducks away from the Hammer. It bites his leg but, unable to get its jaws around his shin, only manages to scratch the skin. Immediately it lunges away and vanishes* Thorclaw-Awgh! *topples over, wincing. Struggles to lift his head, his very core immersed in spasms of agony* What. . .what's happening? It's not us, it's. . .it's our gods. They're. . .something's wrong! Sif-*the pain begins to reside and she slowly stands. She crooks her fingers and attempts to summon her pet, but nothing happens. Now frantic, she attempts another spell, but her magic is gone. She runs to her husband, who is recovering from his own onslaught of pain, and gasps* I know that happened! How could we be so stupid? Jotuns disguised as wolves. . .they tole our magic! We're. . .we're just plain people. Thor-*stands and puts an arm around Sif, sighing. Is it an illusion, or have they both shrunk down to more human-sized beings. Their clothes are no larger, though* Perhaps. . . Sif-I hope our cats can save us. . . SIfpelt-*stands and closes her eyes for a minute, recovering slowly* Apollopelt, Thorclaw. . .what in blazes WAS that? What happened? Thorclaw-It seems to be completely gone! *stands and stretches his legs curiously, frowning* Not bit of pain. How? | Nat2 & The Price of Valor |
