So... when trotting you would want to be relaxed. Generally in western you sit the trot, but I guess you could post.
Western riders DO jump, just generally not as high or a professionally as English riders would.
Cowboys and cowgirls uses the saddle horn to attach things (like ropes?) to there saddles. Not as sure about this one, but that's my guess. |

Well, I guess it depends on your interests. I mean, I guess you COULD jump if you wanted, but it isn't usually that common.

| Oh, and I forgot to add, that the saddle horn is used for a rope when herding cattle and just as a handle if you need it to get on the horse...(I think?) |
