One day I was riding my pony Layla, it was a sunny, and partly cloudy day. All of a sudden, BAM! Layla rose high in the air! -a snake crossed her path. I tried to think quick, "hiss" the snake wipped its tongue in and out. Layla wasn't gonna waste time. She bolted as fast as light back to the barn. I still thank her to this day for saving our skins.

Tornado
By Love191919

A long time ago I saw things, I saw neat tricks that people did with their horses such as teaching their horses to rear, bow, lay down, and even follow them in an open field! When I was younger I always dreamed of doing such a thing with my horse, but I thought that it was impossible for me as a little girl to ever be able to do such an incredible thing with a thousand pound animal! Then it happened… a miracle pony, that pony that only comes once in your life, and I named her Tornado! Tornado is my baby girl and she has taught me so many new things, and I got to do what I though was an impossible thing for me to ever do! I was able to teach her to bow, rear, and lay down on command and Tornado will even follow me out in an open field! The things that I thought were an impossible thing were only a few years down the line, and Tornado taught me that nothing is ever impossible as long as you have the right match everything with be possible! With the right match you will make the impossible possible!

Title: Fire In the Valley
Written by Maddietruth

Years ago in a beautiful valley, a family of horses lived Happily, The Mother's name was Blue, the child's name was Skittles, and the father's name was Monopoly.

They loved their beautiful home. It had plenty of tasty, nutritious food like yummy green leaves, grass, and satisfying roots. There was fresh, running water that came to a river. The river flowed down from the cliffs, down the middle in a big, powerful waterfall.

All along the sides of the river, the land spread out for many miles. It was a green, safe, and wonderful valley. Cliffs rose up high on the north side, protecting the valley from cold winds.

One stormy night, a flash of lightening hit the ground. The grass burst into flames, and the fire spread quickly among the vegetation. Smoke rose and filled the valley. The crackling flames woke up the sleepy Horses.

"Skittles wake up!" Cried Blue " There is a fire in our
Valley!"

"Follow me!" Said Monopoly!

First they tried their Fire Escape routes, but they were blocked! With heads lowered, they ran off to the cliffs. When they got there, they saw hundreds of other horses running and climbing up the steep sheer cliffs. e
Everyone was desperate to get to safety.

The climb was not easy for horses. once Skittles, almost slipped, but grabbed onto his mother's tail tightly, and Monopoly pushed from below. The family struggled to the top, away from the boiling flames.

After the long tough climb up the cliffs, allthe horses finally reached safety. They felt very sad, but happy at the same time because they were safe. They watched the fire gobble up their beautiful valley. It turned the beautiful, green land into black and grey smoldering ashes. They horses knew they couldn't go back there again.

A meeting was called for all the dinosaurs. There was no food or water. They decided they would walk four miles and if they didn't it they would turn back they other way. Everyone was starved and thirsty.

Skittles could hardly walk. He was exhausted. The only time the horses stopped was at night so they could sleep. Skittles curled up by his parents He had a dream about being back at they happy valley playing with his friends.

Finally, the lead horses saw a valley appearing at the base of the mountains.
"I see a valley ahead!" hollered Monopoly, "Maybe this will be our new home!"
The lead horses explored the new valley. It had tasty food of all kinds. It had fresh water. It had sheltered spots where they could sleep. They found a new home. It was just like their old home with delicious food and plenty of water. They ate and drank until they were full. They decided to live there. j

"I love it here!" Said Skittles. Everyone agreed.

The End.

A Poem! (Lost But Found)
An Original By: Horserule1111

One night I awoke,
with a from a horrible dream,
I ran to find my Herd,
but no-one was there,
I ran to my Herd's home,
no-one to see,
I ran and ran,
to find plains,
and flowing rivers,
one day,
I saw a Mare,
with a Golden foal,
she looked like my Mare,
and my foal,
but then I found,
they found someone else,
I kept running West,
then I saw my Colt,
a beautiful Bay,
I then found,
I was with them again,
most of my Herd,
safe with me,
non other holding their hand,
I was happy to be home,
and to protect my Herd,
and be ruler Stallion again.

Perfect Pale
By:Shea111

I ran to the field.
Feeling the wind in my hair.
I picked flowers, sang songs, and jumped in the mud, but my favorite thing to do was see the horse. He was wild as a tiger, as free as a bird. He came to me always with a story. I fed him,I brushed him then, at sundown he would run away. One sunny morning, he galloped to me faster then ever and looked as happy as a kitten in a garden. I looked in his mouth, as he had a bridle gripped in his teeth. He dropped it at my feet. "You want me to ride you?" I asked. Then, I put the bridle on and rode him home bareback. From that day on the Black horse had made me his new best pale.

A young girl named Rose
Yes, that's how the story goes
Rode up onto the hill
Upon her pony Bill
He was a bright red
Yes, that's what was said
Rose rode Bill a lot
And he was what she only sought
He was loved greatly by her
And she would always pull out a burr
He loved her equally
Yes, that's the way they'd always be.

Dolce
By horsecrazy04

One day a girl once said:
My pony's name is Dolce, cause that's how many's in a pair
Me and my pony, we are the pair, the pair that gallops free upon the plains
We live in the caves, wild and free like the indians are
Dolce eats wild b=grasses, flowers, and leaves
I eat what I can find, rabbit, quail, whatever there is to find
We drink from a brook, flowing downstream
We live together in our own herd, just me and my pony forever wild and free

My Horse
By Niesha
A Poem about a girl & her Friesian

Up there, on the hill,
You were standing.
The Horse,
Great Horse,
My Horse.
Your ears pricked forward,
Your eyes curiously looking me over.
The Horse,
Great Horse,
My Horse.
You approached me,
Delicately placing,
One hoof after the other.
The Horse,
Great Horse,
My Horse.
Your deep brown eyes,
Melted my heart
your breath took mine away.
The Horse,
Great Horse,
My Horse.
I ran my fingers
Through your black,
Wavy hair.
The Horse,
Great Horse,
My Horse.
I carefully groomed,
Your midnight black body.
The Horse,
Great Horse,
My Horse.
On your back,
I placed,
A cream saddle blanket,
And a black dressage saddle.
The Horse,
Great Horse,
My Horse.
Into the arena,
We rode,
Girl and Horse.
Moving as one.
Thinking as one.
Winning as one.
The lightest twitch of the reigns,
And you know just what to do.
The crowd grows quiet.
The music starts.
Just as we practiced,
You trot, canter and pace.
Then, in no time,
You are finishing with
A perfect Levade.
The crowd cheers.
I grin.
You nicker and snort.
We did it.
We won.
You are my best friend.
The only one.
My beautiful Friesian girl.
The Horse,
Great Horse,
My Wonderful, Beautiful, Horse

The Fiercest Stallion part 3
A New Friend

Gabe came back with the rope. I made a quick halterr out of it, then I lead Black Beauty to the pasture that connected to the barn.
"Can we keep him?" Gabe asked again. "We will have to ask Mom and Dad first." I answered. What if we can't I thought. I decided not to worry about that for right now.
I watched Black Beauty canter around the pasture, thinking about what I would do if Dad and Mom didn't let us keep him here for a while. I would have to find a good hiding place in the forest.
Me and the boys spent the rest of the afternoon outside. We walked to a brook in the forest that I found when I was looking for Black Beauty.
When we got back from our hike, Mom and Dad were home. The van was fixed, which was good, and Dad and Mom seemed pretty happy. So I decided to ask them now. "Dad, Mom, you know that stallion that I said I had seen?" "Yes?" said both Mom and Dad. "Well, he's real, and we caught him. He's in the pasture." Mom and Dad looked at each other in disbelief, then followed me to the pasture where Black Beauty was.
"Why did you catch him?" Mom asked. "Because he's my friend, and when we were in the post office the other day, I heard that some men were going to catch him and sell him. I didn't want them to sell him."
"Can we pleas keep him? I promise I will be very responsible and I'll take really good care of him. You know how much I love horses, and this could be a good way to show how responsible I can be. Please!" I pleaded
Mom and Dad looked at each other again, then at Black Beauty. "We will have to think about it." Dad said. "But anyway it's getting dark out, so make sure he's settled in for the night. Then come inside for dinner."
The next day was Sunday, and we went to Church. We sat in the back row, because it was the least full. A couple of rows down from us sat a girl who looked about my age. She was blonde, and had black rimmed glasses. She got up and walked over to our seat. "Hi, my name is Laura." She said with a bit of a southern accent. She shook hands with Dad and Mom. "You're my new neighbors. I live just down the street from you. I saw you move in a few days ago."
"Oh, your parents own that farm down the road from us?" Mom asked. "Yes, they raise German Shepherds." Laura answered. "Where are your parents right now?" Dad asked. Laura looked a little sad. "They don't come to church, my aunt and cousins bring me." Then an older lady waved to Laura to come to her. "That's my aunt, I gotta go. Bye." "Bye." I said.
Later, after church , as we were driving home, I asked. "Could Laura come over some time?"
"I want to meet her parents first." Dad replied.
"how about we stop by after lunch?" Mom said.
Later, after lunch, we all got in the van, and headed to Laura's house. It was only a quarter of a mile down the road, but the boys didn't want to be cooped up in the van any longer. I was getting really tired of listening to their whining.
Finally we got there. As we pulled up in the long drive way, I saw Laura, leading her parents to meet us.
Laura's Dad looked stern, he had short dark brown hair, and wore a plaid shirt and jeans. Laura's Mom smiled, she had long blonde hair, and wore a pink jacket and jeans. "Hello," Laura's mom said. "I'm Mandy Steel." She shook hands with my mom and dad. Laura's dad shook hands, then introduced himself. "I'm David Steel." He said.
"Nice to meet you." my mom said. "It seems our daughters have already met" Laura's dad said.
"Yes, they have." My Dad said. They were quiet for a while, I guess they were thinking.
"So Daddy, could Christina come over sometime?" Laura asked. Laura's dad sighed, "It's okay with me and your mom, as long as it's okay with Christina's parents."
Mom and Dad looked at each other then nodded. "It's okay with us." They agreed.
"Would you like us to show you around?" Laura's mom asked.
"Sure." Dad answered.
So we walked into a building where there were a lot of dogs. "Wow, you're really lucky." I said quietly to Laura.
"Yep." She answered. "Do you like Dogs?" she asked.
"Yes, but I love horses." I answered.
"I love horses too. Someday I'm going to buy one." Laura replied.
"When can you come over to my house?" I asked.
"Hmmm... lets see.... how about tomorrow, my mom is going shopping, so she could drop me off." "Okay, great, because I've got a really big surprise for you."
