here is how I do it
if you have a fraction -- say 3/4
and you want to convert to a percent
that is 3/4 = x/100
meaning that three fourths is an unknown x out of 100 percent.
The multiple of the top of the fraction and 100 is equal to the bottom of the fraction dividing that number.
So you would solve it three times 100 = 300
divide that by the bottom of the fraction
300 divided by 4 = 75
so that is how you figure it out.
Is that what you needed to know?

Lexie - when I learned my times tables, we sang them. We had songs for each of the sets, and we'd sing through a couple each day. "One seven is seven, two sevens are fourteen..." Try and find a simple tune you like, and see if the beat fits.
I deal with percentages quite a bit in my schoolwork. For what I have to do, I generally am allowed the use of a calculator. To find, say, the percentange of 5 out of 25:
5 divided by 25 times 100 = answer
if you have a calculator handy, try it out. You should come back with 20 - which you should take as 20%.
Have a go with another number (if you're following along) - let's go with 14 out of 112.
14 divided by 112 times 100 = answer
You should come back with 12.5 (12.5%).

Rusty, I got the Same thing as your answer!
5 divided by 25 times 100 = answer
or you can do it with 14 out of 112.
