he has been laying down alot more for some reason in the year that i've had him i've never seen him laying down and for the past 2days he has been doing it and was very hard to get up.a horse even went over and bit him on the necck while he was laying down and he didn't re-acted to it at all and then i unhooked him while brushing him because he was about to lay down but he just cocked his hoof and fell asleep and he couldn't get his neck down low enough to drink but he was grazing some do you guys think thats kinda weird or i'm just over re-acting?ps he was also breathing heavey | mollie 123 & Cammo |

He's an Appendix! It's a Quarter horse Thoroughbred cross. He used to race, but unless you're in a big group of horse running around, you don't notice him wanting to run.
Molly, join the Arabian Horse Club! We talk about arabians and if we own an Arab we talk about them, and just about anything Arabian related.
Mollie, get your horse looked at by a vet. A horse is only supposed to sleep about 1 hour laying down, although it varies from horse to horse. As often as he's doing it, and the fact a horse bit him is not normal. I almost want to think colic, but as long as it's been going on makes colic unlikely. Check his gut sounds, heart rate, pulse, and look at his gums so when you call the vet you can tell them his vitals. | mybuety & Pressed |
