| Sorry I haven't been on-I had to go to late night school related events.
Krystal-*When I get back from classes I quickly change into tan breeches and a plum short-sleeved shirt with silver stitching. I pull my hair into a neat french braid, and yank on tall boots. I stuff a breath mint in my mouth and grab my Charles Owen black show helmet and a black crop, and clip my helmet on as I walk to the barn. When I get there I groom Dancer to a shine, braiding her mane and tail in traditional horse-show fashion, then tack her up. I swing a gleaming white pad onto her back, followed by a shining tan SJ saddle that matches her running martingale. I buckle tan leather fuzzy open front and ankle boots on her legs, and quickly velcro black bell boots with some fuzz at the top on. I slip her tan leather bridle with double reins, a pelham bit, and a figure-8 noseband over her head, than lead her out of the stall. We quickly warm up in the outdoor, and then I walk into the indoor ring 30 seconds before my testing time. I look at the jumps set up at one end of the ring and take a deep breath, then smile at Mr. Conner.* "Hi Mr. Conner" I say, sounding a little nervous. Mr. Conner-"Hi Krystal. Before you start your test, I want you to know that it's perfectly normal to be nervous, but I'm not judging you. I'm only assessing your skills." Krystal-"Ok." Mr. Conner-"Please track left and walk around once, then do a rising trot around once, then a canter, and reverse directions then do the same thing in reverse." Krystal-"Ok." *I walk Dancer to the rail and line her up with the wall at A so that I can tell when we have done one lap. We move into a working walk, Dancer's head bobbing and me sitting still with my heels down, back straight, hands steady, sitting with the motion and eyes up. Once we return to A I squeeze lightly and we move into a working trot. I maintain the same position and Dancer moves actively. At A I put my foot behind the girth and Dancer moves into an amazing canter. I lift up into a light seat and move with the motion easily. At A I slow her to a walk, reverse directions with a pivot. We free walk to F and then move into a working walk. Dancer pricks her ears and bobs her head cheerfully, and I stay in perfect position. At F I squeeze and we move into an active walk, and I tip forward a little to stay with the motion. 2 strides out from F I sit, and Dancer moves into the same amazing canter, keeping her inside bend, her ears pricked, my seat light. A few strides before F I start to slow to a walk, and we walk right on F.* Mr. Conner-"Take a quick break while I write a few things down, and then do half-passes at the walk until I say otherwise." *I write some things on my clipboard, then turn to Krystal.* "You may begin your half-passes." Krystal-*I establish an inside bend with Dancer and then, between K and E I push her over and we half pass across the arena. Next, we half-pass between H and E we keep doing this until Mr. Conner says something else.* Mr. Conner-"Please half-pass at the trot now." Krystal-*I finish my half-pass, then ask for a trot and continue half-passes across the arena, skillfully avoiding the jumps. Mr. Conner-"Thank you. Next I need to see 6 flying changes, 3 in each direction." Krystal-*I squeeze Dancer behind the girth and she easily moves into a canter, in the corner between A and K we turn across the arena, and at X I ask her for the change, which she easily executes. All is fine until the last change, when just before I ask her Dancer decides that she has done enough dressage and bucks with all 4 feet in the air, once, twice, three times, and I end up hugging her neck, but quickly push back on, my face red with embarrassment.* Mr. Conner-"Are you ok?" Krystal-"I'm fine." Mr. Conner-"Lap the arena at a free walk, then complete one 10 meter circle, one 20 meter circle, and one 30 meter circle." Krystal-*I lap the arena at an easy free walk, then think of something right before I start my 10 meter circle* "What gait?" Mr. Conner-"You can choose." Krystal-*I pick a working trot, and easily complete all 3 circles, Dancer shaking her head on the last one.* Mr. Conner-"Take a quick walk break then jump the 4 jumps at the end of the arena, both ways" *I write a few things down.* RM: Whew, almost done *Pants heavily* Krystal-*I walk around twice, then pick up a quick canter. I make one opening circle, then head to the first jump, and a red-and-white striped vertical. Dancer speeds up a little and I check her, then count '1, 2, 3, NOW!' in my head as we canter down to the jump. Dancer takes off and I fold easily, my mid-crest release perfect. Dancer over jumps by a few inches, making her perfect bascule that much more evident. I turn her towards the fire-engine red oxer and grin, then tip forward and whisper "Lets have some fun" in Dancer's ear. I count the strides my head again, and this time I use my automatic release, my hands following Dancer's head. She jumps perfectly this time, and shakes her head playfully afterwards. I turn to the in-and-out and slow her down a little, then bounce through it easily. Dancer speeds up afterwards, and I slow her again then make her do a tight turn to slow her down. We come into the in-and-out, bouncing through it nicely, my hands following her neck in my automatic release, then turn easily to the oxer. I let Dancer out a notch so she can clear the oxer and she grunts as she jumps it, but clears it nicely nonetheless. I smile and turn her to the vertical and it seems easy compared to the oxer, and Dancer bucks playfully afterwards. I laugh and walk to the center of the ring.* Mr. Conner-"Nice job Krystal, I will let you know of my decision shortly." Krystal-"Thank you." *I lead Dancer out of the ring and put her away, but leave her braids for now.* RM: I did it! Whoooooo me! |  JumperGal & Jack Frost |

Lucy: I enter the ring Mr. Conner-"Please track left and walk around once, then do a rising trot around once, then a canter, and reverse directions then do the same thing in reverse." Lucy: I halt at A were I can tell a lap form. Then I tap Star into a walk around the ring once he holds his head in. We make into A Then into a raising Trot raising a falling with the shoulder on the wall. I miss a beat and sit to then get back on the right diagonal. We finish the lap I move Star into a canter with one kissing noise. I raise into a light seat as Star bucks I stay on. We Go a little past a then a circle to the inside and slow to a walk on the rail. I seat deeper is the saddle as Star side steps. We walk on I cluck as we reach A again and Star takes up a Bounce trot I seat two beats Then I find my rhythm and post Star’s head drops into place. We reach A and Star picks up a canter on the right lead I take a light seat we canter he slams to a stop at A. I walk over to Mr. Conner Mr. Conner: “Take a minute then do half passes at a walk till I till you to Stop. Lucy: “Good Boy†I whisper Mr. Conner: “Begin.†Lucy: I move Star to face on to the rail we do 5 steps to the right in a side pass then 5 to the left Mr. Conner: “Good. Now Trot.†Lucy: I ask Star to side pass at the trot, he reply’s with a buck and then starts side passing to the right. I grin and balance out my weight. Mr. Conner: “Good. Next I need to see 6 flying changes, 3 in each direction." Lucy: I take Star to the rail at a We pick up a canter on the wrong lead a ask for a flying lead change Star performs it with a talented manner. We soar for the first jump a red-and-white striped vertical. Star slows to a Hand gallop I raise off the saddle as Star leaps like a cat over the jump. I check his speed. Then turn for the fire engine colored oxer I count One, Two Three , Four. Star leaps clearing it in a high arch making his long legs clearly seen. I check Star back as we head for the blue and white in-and-out. Star bounces through it easily. We turn after 4 strides and head back at the jump. 1,2,3 I two point up off the saddle Star bounces over the in and out again My hands sliding down the reins. I shorten his stride. I whisper count the strides 1,2,3,4 Up an over the oxer we fly I raise into a two point. We fly back over the Vertical I canter to the end of the ring and stop. I ride to the center in a walk and Stop. Ty:*slowly trots Kelsey with her trot having long strides with grace I then canter her slowly around the ring leaning forward to give her more rein to keep her head down we the n head for the first jump I slow her keeping her speed in check and her striding shorter we then leap over it with a perfect hunter arc she lands on the ground with a gentle but satisfieing thump for each jump(have to hurry my plane is about to take off and not wanting to interfere with it)i then do a 10 meter circle at a slow sitting trot Kelsey's head down and her back relaxed then the 20 meter at a posting trot me staying in perfect tune until she rears and I fall forward and get my stirrup locked around my ankle*Kelsey it's okay girl*I pat her neck soothingly and fix my stirrup then do a 30 meter at a slow graceful canter with her neck out and down her strides long and slow like a pleasure horse's I then slow her to a trot and side pass her over a pole her body leaning into my leg to make it over slowly but showing actual energy being used then the same at a walk and when we get to the flying change I loose my balance when she bucks in boredom and fall down but I stand up and get back on mad at myself for falling I then finsh and leave the ring(that's Jason's to it would have been better but like I said airplane interfierence) |  tylerbt & Vintage |

| Mr Conner: Kierra? I'm ready for you in the arena.
Luke: I'll be in the sky box. *I job up to the sky box and pick a seat near the front* Kierra: *I pull on a velvet black helmet and clip the strap, I walk Gold into the arena and swing onto her back, I walk to the center of the arena and look at Mr. Conner, waiting for his instruction* Mr. Conner: Put Gold through her paces to warm up, start with the left. Do not go past canter. Kierra: *I turn to the side of the arena and turn left, I squeeze my legs to ask Gold for an extended walk, she responds by lengthening her stride and I feel the 4 beat with the head movements through my reins, I look in between her ears, my scapulas are pressed together and my tail bone in in the seat to create the perfect back, my elbows are at my hips, my legs are back and my heels are down, I have the perfect seat, as we pass the spot we started, I click and press my heels against Gold's sides, she picks up a beautiful trot instantly and I rise into a post, moving at the correct diagonal, I rise and fall at each stride and keep my hands soft on the reins all the way around the ring, at the same spot, I sit and squeeze my legs, Gold breaks into a smooth, rocking horse canter, I move gently in the saddle around the arena* Mr. Conner: Reverse and work down. Kierra: *I turn my body to the other side and continue the canter, I collect Gold a tinsy bit and go around the arena, I pull the reins a bit and blew out a breath, I rise in the saddle at the same moment that Gold slows to a trot, I post on the opposite diagonal for a stride before sitting a beat and rising on the correct one, I post correctly the rest of the lap, I slow to a walk and pass around the arena* Mr. Conner: Cross to the center and wait. Kierra: *I obey and pat Gold, I look up and see Luke rubbing his forearm, he points to Gold and I look down and see that one of her wraps is coming undone, I dismount and re-wrap her leg, I remount as Mr. Conner strides up* Mr. Conner: Here is your jumping order. Take the vertical, then the oxer and end with the in-and-out, reverse and jump. Begin. Kierra: *I canter Gold in a circle before starting to the candy striped vertical, I count down 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1, at 1, I rise into a flawless two-point, sliding my hands up Gold's neck, I straighten my legs to almost straight, my back flat and my head up, I sit back and steer towards the red oxer, I eye the first pole slightly lower than the second, I count steps down from 5 yet again and at the same place, 1, I lift off into my two point, I look to the in-and-out, the first blue and white jump just a step away from the second, we canter towards it and I loosen the reins a notch, I count the steps again and on 1, I lean up, Gold rockets forward and lands in the middle of the two jumps, she bunches her muscles and launches over the second, moving her heels high to avoid knocking the rail, we repeat the course backwards, I walk to Mr. Conner* What next? Mr. Conner: *I smile at her eagerness* Trot left. Kierra: *I obey, clicking my tongue against the roof of my mouth, Gold trots forward eagerly and I track left* Mr. Conner: *I wait for Kierra to trot a couple of strides* 10 meter circle. Kierra: *I turn and make a perfect 10 meter circle* Mr. Conner: *I wait again* 20 meter circle. Kierra: *I make a 20 meter circle* Mr. Conner: *I wait* 30 meter circle. Kierra: *I make a 30 meter circle* Mr. Conner: Working walk for 3 strides, then side pass for 2. Kierra: *I urge Gold to a working walk and walk for 3 strides, I turn and ask Gold for a sidepass, she responds easily and crosses over her legs for 2 strides, when I release her* Mr. Conner: Working trot. Then side pass. Kierra: *I urge Gold to a working trot and post evenly for 3 strides, until I urge her to cross her legs to a side pass, she trips but I ride through it and let her trot forward to regain her balance, then I ask her to side pass and she does without tripping, I pat her shoulder* Good girl! Mr. Conner: Free canter, cross through the center and do flying lead changes, reverse and repeat. Kierra: *I squeeze my legs and Gold breaks into a ground eating canter, I cross to the center and switch my legs quickly, Gold floats for a second before switching, I turn her and repeat, she, again floats in mid air, I pull her to a stop* Mr. Conner: Thank you Kierra, I think I've made the choices. Buuuuuut I'll make you wait. Kierra: *I smile* Thank you, sir. *I exit the arena and Luke smiles at me* Luke: You totally got on the intermediate team! Maybe even the advanced. Kierra: *I laugh* I don't think I'm quite that good yet, I still have a lot to learn. Luke: Want help cooling Gold down? Kierra: Sure.
