| Kylie: I step out the filthy Four Wheel Drive, feeling out of place as I stare out at the huge buildings. Returning students fling themselves at each other, new kids hug their parents and try their best not to cry. Horses fill the area and the echoes of hooves stream through my ears.
Noah: *Rolls down the trailer and leads Justice out* 'Here, honey.' He passes the teal lead line to Kylie, giving the chestnut a final pat on the shoulder. 'You go get him settled in. We'll grab your room number and start unpacking for you. Swing by Headmistress Drake's office to find out your dorm, okay?' Kylie: I nod and bravely push Justice forward, turning him around to face the large clusters of the active campus. Taking in a deep breath, I keep him going and head toward a girl with jet black hair and lime green eyes hoping she was friendly. 'Hi,' I say shakily, leaning into Justice casually to seek his comfort. He tensed immediately. 'Can you point me towards the stables?' | Lexa: I finish up my practice with Wish in the cool arena and cool her out. I un-tack and groom her before letting her loose in her stall. "See you later girl." I say sweetly. I walk to the parking lot of the stable and see my dad already waiting. "Hey, Lex!" He says enthusiastically. "Hey, dad," I say with a smile. "Did the mail come yet?" I say getting right to the point. "Hon, you know it comes at 3 in the afternoon. It's only 12." Dad says with a little reminder in his voice. "Yeah dad I know…It's just I really want to know." After we get home I shower, eat lunch, and stare at the next dressage test I have to memorize. It FINALLY rolls around to 3 and I dash out the door just as the mailman arrives. I snap open the mailbox and search through the mail like a maniac. I finally find the letter I'm looking for. "MOM, DAD!!!!" "IT"S HERE! IT"S REALLY HERE!" I scream not bothering to contain myself. "Sweetie what's here…Oh, never mind! Of course it's here sweetheart I knew you would get that letter." Mom says smiling at me pulling me into a tight embrace. "They said they don't usually let late entrances, but this was an exception." I say reading the letter aloud. "Yes, of course they made an exception. I'm so proud of you Lex baby." Mom says with a little tear of happiness crawling down her cheek.
~A few days later I arrive at Canterwood~ "This is it." My parents say together. "We'll make sure you're all checked in and then we have to say goodbye," Mom said speaking for my dad as well. I unload Wish and leave my parents to figure out how to deal with all Wish's and my stuff. I walk her into an empty stall. I leave Wish alone so she can adjust to her new surroundings. When I reach my parents they have all my luggage unloading as well as Wish's stuff. "Should we walk you to your dorm?" My mom asks. "I think I've got it, but thanks…For everything." I say feeling a little nauseous. This time it's my dad who speaks, "Honey, we're so proud of you and we know how much effort you have put into this. We're going to miss you, but we will see you again soon." "Yeah, I know. Well, I guess it's goodbye until I see you guys again. Bye mom, dad, I love you guys." "Bye sweetheart. We love you too." Mom says kissing my cheek. She and dad get into the car and start the 4 hour drive back to our house. For a second I think about how I could be in the car with them, but then I realize that I'm at the Canterwood and suddenly I don't regret anything. I start to lug my suitcases to my dorm room. After half an hour later, okay maybe only 5 minutes, I finally get there. It's probably one of the most beautiful dorm rooms ever. I lay my suitcases on the floor and flop onto the bed feeling beyond exhausted. I wake up from a short nap a little while later and start to unpack my suitcases and decorate my room. I lay my fuzzy pink comforter on my bed, while admiring my work of decorating everything pink. | InsideRider & Little White Lies |
