| Lucy: I hear a trailer. * Shiloh’s here. * I call. I lead Star back to his stall. Then I walk up to the trailer a man is backing down a with a paint filly *Hi Shiloh.* I take her lead and the man gets in and drives away. I lead her back the field with Lincoln flying over head. *This pretty little filly is Shiloh.* |

Or in Kierra's case, prep a steer for a show! There are some trails around here,too, but you've gotta be VERY careful. Snakes and even a cougar are sometimes seen on some of the trails. Frisco's dad once got bit by a snake on the trail. Trails that a way *points to a trimmed path leading through the woods* is quite a boring trail, but it's safe." I say. "It's nice to meet everyone, and I hope you guys really like it here," I finish. I turn Miley around and grab Frisco and lead him back to the barn. There, I dismount and put Frisco back in his stall. He slurps up cool water and beds down for a nap. "Let's go for a ride," I tell Miley. I bring her to a wash stall and quickly re-brush her coat. I use a comb to make her mane tangle-free and scrape dirt from her hooves. "Okay, time for tack," I tell Miley. Because she has already got her bridle on, I walk to the tack room and pick up only her saddle pad and her saddle. I gently smooth the light brown pad over her roan coat. Then, I gather up her new chocolate brown english saddle and place it on her back. Buckling the girth, I also grab my velvet black helmet. I unclip Miley from the cross-ties and mount. I fasten my helmet then walk to this barn's outdoor arena. "Oh, Miley. I seriously do not feel like getting off of you and opening and closing that gate. Call me lazy- but it ain't happening," I declare to my horse. Instantly, Miley backs up a few strides. I say,"Now." Miley canters forward and we near the area gate. I lift up into a two-point position and we fly over the fence. Miley canters a few strides before I slow her into a trot. "Okay, enough jumping. Let's work on flat work." |

Lily: After putting Miley back in her stall, I walk to the main barn. "OK, gather 'round. Big News!" I shout. "There are two upcoming competitions. The first one will be a cross-country course. The competition following that will be a cutting competiton. If your horse or horses are trained in both english and western you may enter both, but don't enter in a discipline that you don't ride. Both of these competitions will be easy. They aren't difficult-especially cross-country." I say to the people who have gathered. (Not trying to power play) |
