| *I see that everyone has joined us in time for the trail ride. "Britnie, could you go to the end of the line as we are on the trail? Also if someone needs help, please help them ONLY if they are CLOSER TO YOU THAN I AM TO THEM. I will be the leader of the line." I have Ally canter around the inside circle of the arena to get her energy out abit. Then I have her halt in the center. "Ok, everyone we are going on a trail ride. I will be int he front, & Britnie is in the back. if you need help call out for one of us!" I dismount & lead Ally over to the gate that leads to the outside & open the gate. I leave the gate open & mount Ally. "Ok, lets go!" I have Ally walk in the direction of the trail entrance through the grass. Ally looks behind her to make sure the horses are behaving. "Its ok girl." I say patting her neck. She relaxes. We get on the trail & everyone is walking.* |

| * after 10 min on the trail everyone seems to be getting restless. "ok, lets turn back. We cant work the horses too hard." I turn Ally around, & head back to the barn. When we get there we ride intot he arena & stop. "ok everyone, please dismount, & take care of your horses. Then meet in the lounge. We will then take a quiz on riding horses." I dismount & lead Ally to the wash stall. I untack her, & carefully put her tack away. Then I scrub her to get the dirt, & sweat off of her. Then I lead her to her stall & rub her with a dry rag untill she is moist. I put her lightest blanket on her & give her a peppermint. "You are a good girl, my good girl. Now rest up. We will be jumping abit after the quiz." I whisper to her as I close the door, then head to the lounge. I sit down & wait for everyone to come in before I hand the quizes out.* |
