Jenny: Yep, it's the best place in the world. It's more then that. It's HOME.
Note, in this part of the river it comes up to a horse's belly. There are places it's only a foot deep and places it's over 8 feet deep as well as many places in between, but this is the best and safest place.
Jenny: Come on in everyone! *Quita kicks some water in outlaws face. Then she bucks me off lightly into the water and rolls, before nuzzling me with her wet nose. I laugh and hop back on. Paquita rears in the water, her mane and tail streaming, and I hug her tightly. I wrap my arms around her neck and give her a light nudge with my heels. we take off out of the water and into the prairie. We lope on and on, then circle back and gallop into the river spraying up water. Paquita has excellent stamina, from her mustang breeding. I sigh.* There's nothing better than riding a tamed wild horse across the prairie at a gallop. She's barely panting! |

Sollux: As we came to the river, I was faced with the challenge of figuring out what to do with the horse. I quickly came up with an idea. "Hey guys, I'm feeling a little stressed, so I think I'll take a walk. If anyone can care for this horse while I'm gone, it would be greatly appreciated!" Eventually, someone came up and grabbed the reins. I hopped off, landing with a slight thud. I then proceeded to walk calmly into the woods. As soon as I was sure that they couldn't see me, I broke into a wild dash. I hopped over stumps and fallen logs like a forest creature. I smiled to my self and let out a chuckle. This was going exactly according to plan!
Equius: I thought that it was a little strange that Sollux had to take a walk as soon as we got here. Well, maybe what he said was true, but I couldn't shake the feeling that there was a more sinister reason behind it. I dismounted and tied Miki to a nearby tree. I then announced that I was going to set up the tents and stuff. It would give me something to do, as I was definitely NOT going swimming. |
