***Moon River Ranch***
Our ranch is set in the middle of montana and its peaceful here | Jenny: *Paquita and I lead Nevada along silently looking at the beauty of the little woods we have at the foot of the mountains before the plains begin. I can hear the creek and I urge Quita into a slow canter, but she bolts. She changes in a split second from a walk to a flat out gallop, and I struggle to bring her into control. I drop Nevada's lead rope, knowing she will be good and follow. Using both hands I pull with my full weight and then release, then pull again and release until I bring her back to a walk and we move back to everyone else.* Sorry about that. *I take up Nevada's lead rope again.* |

Sollux: I follow the group of horses and riders that were heading out. Ryu seemed quite calm, which is surprising. I would have expected to be bucked off by now. But in a matter of hours, I would be on my way home. I just had to keep quiet about it. After all, what could possibly go wrong?
Equius: Miki was behaving like an angel. Because she's not really used to being around other horses, this was a surprise. I was kind of just staring off into space when suddenly I heard a piercing neigh behind me. I turned around to see Ryu spooking at a low hanging branch. The animal reared up and desperately bucked, trying to get Sollux off his back. I grabbed the reins quickly, settling the spooked horse, then I told Sollux that because Ryu is a flighty horse, he might want to be more attentive in the future. He nodded and I hopped back up on Miki, hoping that the rest of the ride would be free of any more mishaps. |

I mean, I'm not gonna be a tour guide all the time, and most of you are experienced enough not to do something utterly stupid. So when you get the feel for things, do what you like, mostly, I mean, don't go and try to capture wild horses by yourself, or go scaling mountains on your own, ect, but ya'll will get pretty much free rein of the place. Hey! You hear the river? Come on!! *I nudge Paquita into a fast canter and lean way forward, the wind blowing in my face. We skid to a stop when we come to the creek and I hop off.* Hey! this is the campsite and there's the corral! *I motion to a couple of logs around a fire pit and a wooden corral, full of lush green grass.* Or you can hobble your horse and let 'er go. *I pull my saddle off, sling it over the corral wall. Then I pull off my socks and boots, roll my leans up and leap back on. I urge Quita into a trot and we splash into the creek bareback and barefoot.* OOOOOH! It's cold! *I squeal, laughing. Quita stops to drink suddenly and I slide off into the water over her head.* Wha-!? *I jump back on my feet, the water streaming out of my hair and clothes, then I jump back up onto Quita, laughing all the way* Wow, what a surprise! *Quita paws the water, inviting the other horses in.* |
