I have a half-blind chicken that has lived in a cage for about a year and giving it food and water is kind of mandatory. . .but we learned a cool trick for feed and water buckets that Checkers can't tump over, dumb bird. I might have to post a picture of it. You take a plastic jug (one of the translucent ones like milk comes in) and cut part of the side off so that the base is exposed, but still has two or three inches of side left like a bowl, then you put the food in. For water, we used a sturdier vinegar jug, because the water jug is starting to split now. But Checkers always has to have her water replaced practically five seconds after you refill the bowl. We found that out at a feed and garden store where the chickens had these containers in their cages.
