| Here a tip every rider should know: Heels down! If you can't put your heels down adjust your stirrups. It's so annoying watching people ride down the road with their stirrups dragging the ground and their heels no where near being down. |  Lizzy1 & Cool Mr Robin |

| I wasn't saying that you said anything bad apple06! I was just telling you another reason stuff gets deleted.
When you are braiding your horses tail, keep looking up to make sure they aren't telling you to stop. A horse will send two or three signals before he'll kick, and it's your fault if you don't see them. The most noticeable one is their ears being pinned back. |  Galloping Bareback & Dakota Sioux |

| When riding in cold weather: Check that bit! It is possible for the horse's tongue to stick to it(like the kid's tongue in "A Christmas Story" did to the pole!). I am foturnate enough to keep my lease horse's tack in a heated tackroom. | Lizzy1 & Cool Mr Robin |

| Also, what is the purpose of keeping your heels down? Does it give you better control over the horse or something? I ride western, and I don't really get the big deal about "HEELS DOWN!", other than it looks nice.

| I was looking back at the CPP magazines and I found one article in the 2011 July one that is very interesting. It was the one about Horse and rider anatomy. I was shocked to learn that a rider could feel they are straight in the saddle, but are really leaning forward! It's a great article. You should consider reading it. :) | Lizzy1 & Cool Mr Robin |

| Heels down helps me stand in my stirrups which is an exercise we do. And do not put your foot to far in the stirrup or it will give you a lot of trouble. And also Jane, how often will there be live moderated chat? Bedause i really enjoyed the new years eve one.
