yes get a trainer or someone who knows a lot about horses and try him out, then start looking around to what kind of jobs you can do and you will want to save up your money even before you get him if you do.
and also why does the owner want to give him away for free?? | jjpals & Dynamo |

He was a pacer. And yes, I did ride him. I hadn't ridden in a while and he could tell. He was lazy and had to be pushed. But if I had someone to train me and I rode every day I know I would learn how to make the horse obey my commands. Plus, I was sooo nervous. | Horsesforever12 & Jedi |

I would find a trainer you want to work with and go back to evaluate the horse with that trainer.
One other thing horsesforever -- you will likely be that horses last owner. I would recommend a vet check to make sure that the horse does not already have an infirmity or problem that will prevent it from being ridden.
One of my boarders had a horse that lived to 32 but that is unusual. You need to think about the age issue and be prepared that your horse may not be around forever.
That said, every old horse deserves a loving owner and I have no doubt that is what you would be... | Jane Crandal & JB |

I totally agree. The woman said he acted younger than he is. She said because he is such a good breed he is likely to live a long time. The only problem with him is that he had an abscess in one of his front hooves and he lost part of his hoof due to bad previous owners. She said the farrier said it was healed, though. | Horsesforever12 & Jedi |

He didn't seem to have any problem walking on it or anything. The woman reassured us that it was completely healed, although the hoof was notably broken off on the end. | Horsesforever12 & Jedi |

So the reason I haven't been writing to you all is for multiple reasons, but I just got back from round trip to Florida. I didn't sea ny sea horses , but I did see a lot of jelly fish. Also I got to collect a whole bunch of amazing shells; And I'm using the shells I've collected to make silhouette pictures. The first one I'm making is of a seahorse' silhouette. Before Two weeks of traveling I travelled almost every day for four weeks straight to school related things. ALl this time though I've still been thinking of you all, and recieving some good horsey articles from Horse Illustrated and Young Rider. Hope to be done with the traveling business no later than December!
