***CRAFTING CLUB***
It is about crafting, crocheting, knitting, sewing etc. You can post patterns and tips!

Thanks Sugar. I'm thinking I may put off the knitting. A friend at church gave me a yo yo maker and I think the next thing I am going to do is make some yo yos with it. I thought about sewing them together and making a little teacup coaster for her, since she was so nice to give me the yo yo maker.

I want to join! Im an artist at perfection, making new items to ware or put in our homes on one of my games, and "How to's" on technoligy. :) Today, Im going to tell you step by step; "How to draw a horse Head".

Before You Read Steps!!

In order to draw a Horse, you need a lot of practice and a good sense of proportion. If you are a beginner, however, perhaps it's a good idea to start with perfecting drawing the horse head. It is important to pay attention to its exact shape to convey the beauty and grace of this animal. It might also help you to refer to the actual photo of a horse's head as you draw. There is a separate lesson to drawing the entire horse though.

***********************************************
STEP 1.

Start drawing a horse head with three circles. First sketch the initial contours, as they will be the basis for our drawing a horse head. Using # 2 pencil, draw three circles like so: biggest one on top, smallest one on the bottom, and a medium-sized one in the middle. Please try to replicate my drawing in this step.

***********************************************
STEP 2.

Draw the contours of the horse's head. Work on the tentative contours of the horse's snout and head without pressing too hard on your pencil in case you might need to correct some lines later. Add a tiny circle to the largest circle that will be the horse's eyeball.

***********************************************
STEP 3.

How to draw horse's ears, nostrils, and neck. Place the ears on top of the horse's head. Outline the long neck and add nostrils and lip line. I REALLY hope you were drawing lightly! Now you can erase extra lines from your drawing.

***********************************************
STEP 4.
The horse's bridle. A bridle is necessary in order to be able to control a horse. Usually only horses in the wild or on the farm do not wear a bridle. First draw a small ring near the edge of the horse's mouth and a part of the bridle coming out of the mouth. As you progress through your drawing, add some more detail at every step. Draw a mane and perfect the shape of the eyes and nostrils.

***********************************************
STEP 5.

Finish drawing the bridle. At this step lesson how to draw a horse hesd, finish drawing the bridle and the ears. Aren't you proud to say that you're almost done?

***********************************************

STEP 6

Add shadows to your drawing. This step is important and involves a certain sense of artistry in order to give the horse's head volume that makes it look realistic. It will suffice to add shadows with a # 2 pencil rather than coloring in your drawing. In this easy lesson, we used the simple steps of drawing horse head. I hope this tutorial has helped you. :D

I hoped this helped with your drawing. Always W-Mail me or ask me on Art Interest Clubs if you want anything else done like kittens, reindeer, or the whole body of a horse. I also hope that I didn't re-post a step. Like: "STEP 6. Blah Blah Blah" + "STEP 6. Blah Blah Blah"
I try to keep up with doing totorials on "How To's". So Sorry if I dont take your idea! Im still learning but Im a great artist in my opinion so far. :)

Thanks for the tutorial, Varonnica, and I don't mean any offense when I say that this style of drawing never ever works for me. It always looks artificial when I do it, like pictures of English kings posing for paintings. My style is more freehand, where I just start moving the pencil and it all ends up on the paper and somehow it looks normal.

Helpful tip: In all the drawing books I've read, the artist/author tells you to define a light source when doing shadows. At the very least draw a circle or a shape in one corner of the paper to resemble the light source. Decide where you want to light and shadows to be and then draw the shape. Imagine the thing that you are drawing with the light coming from that direction and then lightly outline where all the shadows would be. Look it over to see if it's all right, and if it is, lightly shade in the shadows with the pencil. Then do it a little darker until it's just dark enough that it doesn't overpower the picture. Another technique is using your fingertip to blur the pencil lead on the paper so the shading is gradual.

Varonnica, I myself am pretty good at kittens and horses, but as for your reindeer, good luck! When I try to draw one, the antlers give me nightmares for weeks. Can you draw people fairly well? I'd appreciate a drawing tutorial on that if you can. Thanks! ;)

Thanks Nat2. This is just a small totorial of a horse head, So it isn't all there right now. Just a helpful tip. :D And yes, Im good at drawing people. But I need to get a tortorial set up for it. I will probably go and get one finished in the next week or so.

I can also help you draw tigers! Im very well at them. My art teacher is amazed that I can draw and get the face details, and the stripes all in place, including the shading. She cant even draw one. And shes about 55-60 years old! Not effending anyone who is older then that, Im just saying 'She' is. Anyways... :P I would be happy to show you how to draw a person. What part would you like to learn? Face? Body? Hands? Nose? Eyes? Lol

Anything! I'm slightly desperate. Maybe the hands first, because they give me the most trouble.

Oh, don't worry, tigers aren't as nightmarish as reindeer. I like doing different stripes on all the tigers, especially the paws, because they have to be big, but elegant at the same time.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever made any crafts and sold them. Perhaps at a bazaar? If so, what, and how did it work for you?
