*** Red Star Competition Club****** We do the following competitions:Jumping,Dressage,Barrel Racing,Racing and Roping(we may do more).

*I take off my coveralls that were over my show clothes (so they would stay clean) and pick up my helmet, I put it on and click the strap, I adjust the stirups and hop on. I center Lady and squeeze gently, she jumps into a graceful trot. I squeeze the inside rein, she collects herself I, I squeeze the outside rein and she goes to the rail, I bring up energy and ask her to canter, she raises her speed instantly and canters, I ask her to collect herself and she does. She canters around twice, landing in the same foot falls. I look to the trotting poles and she turns in a graceful arc, and she heads toward the trotting poles, she collectedly canters over the poles, not tripping once. I look to the oxer and she canters to the oxer, I start counting, with 1/2 a stride to go, I rise into my two-point, gently squeezing her crest to tell her to jump. She lifts her front legs and kicks off with her back legs. She lands and canters to the trotting poles again, she canters toward the ditch and she jumps a couple strides after I asked her so she pushes off the ledge and soars over it, I turn my body toward the stone wall, Lady snorts, then turns, listening to me this time and looking graceful whilst jumping the stone wall. She slows to a collected trot and trots to the logs, she jumps them effortlessly, bouncing and trotting to the center. She bows and we walk out. I don't even bother to dismount as we go up to the barn to untack*

I'll be doing grooming, tacking, warming up, and mounting in this on, and the ride in another.

*I put on Beauty's royal purple halter, and clipping on her matching lead rope.
I lead Beauty to the cross ties, clipping them to her halter. I take the lead rope back, and get the grooming box.
I pick up the curry comb and work in small gently circles over the body, making sure to go the same was as her black hair does. Starting at her poll, going to her dock.
I pick up the hard brush, and do quick, short, light strokes to take the dirt and loose hair off of her body. Again from ear to tail.
Then, after that, is the soft brush, I take that over her glossy black coat in long strokes.

I slide my left hand down her left front leg, Beauty picking it up.
I lay it on my leg as I work.
I hold the hoof pick so the end that gets rid of the dirt is coming out the back of my fist around the handle.
I carefully pick out all four of her hooves. Making sure to miss her frog, and that there aren't any rocks anywhere in her hooves.

I come back from the tack room with the bridle over my shoulder, and the saddle over my arms, the saddle blanket over the saddle.
I set the tack down on her stall door.
I pick up the saddle pad.
I put the saddle pad a little above where it goes, and slide it down into place, so there aren't any hairs that are the wrong way.
Next I pick up the saddle, and set it gently onto Beauty's back.
I walk around to her undo the grith, and walk back around to the left side to fasten it.
Next I pick up her bridle.
I walk to her head, undoing her halter, so the part that goes around her ears, slides to to be around her neck, the part around her nose just hanging there behind her chin.
I stick my finger into the side of her mouth, making her open it, I slide the snaffle bit into place, and put the halter on, sliding the ear piece over her ears. I don't have any buckles to fasten on her bridle.
I undo her halter, and put it where it goes.
Leading Beauty out of the stable tacked, and ready to go.

I tighten her grith again before I mount.

Putting my left boot toe in the stirrup, my reins gathered in my left hand, and some mane in it too. My right hand holding the back of the saddle. I do a hop, before I push off, and pull myself up into the saddle.
Swinging my right leg up and over Beauty's rump, moving my right hand to rest beside my left one.
I gently land in the saddle, and put my right boot toe in the stirrup.
I pick up a rein in my right hand, and make sure my heels are down, and back straight.

I walk Beauty to the warm-up ring, and warm her up.

*I pat Beauty, waiting just outside the arena gate.
I gently squeeze her, and she breaks into a trot.

We enter the arena at a trot, her ears pricked, neck arched, tail raised. Her black hooves gently landing in the dirt, like walking on egg shells.

I gently pull and release the right rein, turning her to the right.
I squeeze her again, and she speeds into a canter.
Her black tail raised like a proud banner soaring over the bare earth.
Her ears still pricked, her head moving with her body. Her left leg leading, her left leg being the inside leg. I have my heels down, eyes up, my hands gently on the reins.
Her hooves light on the ground still, now it looks more like flying, not trotting on egg shells.

After we had gone around twice, I turn Beauty to the trotting poles.
I whisper to her a few words, telling her that I'm right here, on her back, helping her to canter through these.

I collect Beauty into a collected canter to get her hooves right, her job is to canter, my job is to make sure her strides will match where the poles are.
Beauty canters through the poles, picking up her hooves beautifully.

I angle Beauty to be lined up with the oxer, she flicks an ear.
I gently squeeze her sides, telling her when to jump.
She strongly pushes off with her back legs, tucking her front legs under her.
As she leaps up, I rise up into two point, reaching forward with my arms, giving Beauty rein so she can jump.
As we come down, her folds her back legs under her, and lightly lands on her front legs.
My job is to lead her to the jump, tell her when to jump, and not to get in her way when she jumps.
Her job is to soar over the jump.

I gently pull and release on the reins, slowing her to a trot.
I softly pull and release the right rein, turning her in a turn, in a tear drop shape, turning her head so I can see her eye.

We head to the trotting poles again. Her neck arched, and tail raised.
I ask her to extend, making sure her hooves will clear the poles.
She picks up her hooves, and trots over them.

I squeeze her sides again.
She picks up a beautiful soaring canter again.
I guide her to the ditch.
I squeeze with my legs.
She picks up her legs, almost just taking a great big stride over the ditch.

Now I turn her to the stone wall.
She flicks her ears, telling me she's ready to leap.
I gently squeeze her sides. She tucks her front legs, and soars over the stone wall, Like she has wings on her back hooves.
We land on the other side and canter on.

I gently pull and release the reins, slowing her to a trot.
I turn her to the 8" long fences.
We use our teamwork to clear all of them, just like on all the others.
Tucking her front legs, pushing off with her strong back, landing lightly, and trotting on.
From the back all you see is a black tail flowing over the fences.

I gently pull and release the reins, slowing her to a walk.
She slowly walks out of the ring, her head bobbing with her walk, an ear turned back listing to me.*

Sorry I have been absent. A girl opened an account after asking me if she can be Elizabeth King and after I consented, so she should be on here soon.

YES!

*Grooms and tacks up Lady, her lippizon* OK girl, we OWN this next comp. *I walk her, working on switching to extended, spanish, shoulder-in and collected walk. Then I speed to a trot, focusing on extended and collected trot, then canter, the collected and extended again. Then I slow to a passage, then I ask her to preform the Aires. She soars into the air in the capriole, then she does a long mini rear, and then she rears and hops forward 5 steps (her record LOL) and then I I do flying lead changes, it looks like she's skipping* Good girl!
