Lauren: "Thanks!" I say mounting off Rusty. I give Parelli Chick a quick thumbs up for a good practice, and run to the barn. I look around for my dressage belt. No luck. Suddenly, I see the belt hanging over Rusty's stall. I grab it and hook It into my riding breeches. I walk slowly out of the barn. And Into the front of the arena, Where Chelsea and Parelli is standing. I mount up Rusty again. Holding back the reins. "Thanks once again Chelsea!" I say with a smile, patting Rusty.

*I look at Mad Skillz* That Purple is awesome on Mad Skillz (boy or girl?) but I think that White looks better on Lady. *Pats my White mare, the white saddle pad blending into her coat, the only thing saying its a saddle pad and not her coat, is the black outline, her black polo wraps and Black and White Dressage Bridle looking pretty*

*I put on Mad Skillz's royal purple halter, and clipping on his matching lead rope. The purple the same shade's as Beauty's.
I lead him to the cross ties, clipping them to his halter. I un-clip his lead rope, and head to the tack room to get the grooming box.

I pick up the black curry comb and work in small gently circles over his black and white body, making sure to go the same was as his two colored hair does. Starting at his poll, going to his dock.
I pick up the hard brisled (sorry misspelled) brush, and does quick, short, light strokes to take the dirt and loose hair off of his coat. Again from ear to tail.
Then, after that, is the soft brisle brush, I take that over his coat in long strokes.

I slide my left hand down his left front leg, Mad Skillz picking it up and leaning into me.
I lay it on my leg as I work.
I hold the hoof pick so the end that gets rid of the dirt is coming out the back of my fist around the handle.
I carefully pick out all four of his hooves. Making sure to miss his frog, and that there aren't any rocks anywhere in his hooves.

I put baby powder on his white spots, making his white spots whiter.
I carefully put on his purple boots.
I come back from the tack room with the black dressage bridle over my shoulder, and the black dressage saddle over my arms, the royal purple saddle blanket over the saddle.
I set the tack down on his stall door.
I pick up the saddle pad.
I put the saddle pad a little above where it goes, and slide it down into place, so there aren't any hairs that are the wrong way.
Next I pick up the saddle, and set it gently onto Mad Skillz's back.
I walk around to him undo the grith, and walk back around to the left side to fasten it.
Next I pick up his bridle.
I walk to his head, undoing his halter, so the part that goes around his ears, slides to to be around his neck, the part around his nose just hanging there behind his chin.
Mad Skillz opens up his mouth letting me slide the bit into place, and put the bridle on, sliding the ear piece over his ears, and buckle all the buckles.
I undo his halter, un-clipping the cross ties and putting his halter back up.
I lead Mad Skillz out of the stable tacked, and ready to go.

I tighten his grith again before I mount up.
Putting my black left boot toe in the stirrup, my reins gathered in my left hand, and some mane in it too. My right hand holding the back of the saddle. I do a hop, before I push off, and pull myself up into the saddle.
Swinging my right leg up and over Mad Skillz's rump, moving my right hand to rest beside my left one.
I gently land in the saddle, and put my right boot toe in the stirrup.
I pick up a rein in my right hand, and make sure my heels are down, and back straight.

I was wearing a purple shirt, the same shade as Mad Skillz's saddle pad, with a black jacket over it, white breeches as white as his spots, and black boots.
My hair in a braid snaking down my back with a purple ribbon tying it.

His mane fixed and his tail fixed too.

(I'll just copy my last post from grooming and tacking.)

Lauren: I rush back into the barn, I hook rusty into the cross ties into the barn. I untack rusty taking the saddle off, unbuckling the girth and removing the saddle pad. Then I remove the bridle, carefully removing the reins and slipping the bit out of Rusty's mouth. Then I begin to groom him. I start with my Rubber curry and lightly stroking his coat to remove the loosen dirt, I make little circular motions to remove the dirt effectively. Then I take the Dandy brush finishing off the coat on both sides to take the remaining dirt off of his coat. Then I take the body brush to give him a extra smooth coat to impress the judge. Then I grab the hoof pick and begin to take the stones off of his hooves avoiding the frog. Then I place all the utensils back into the grooming box and take it back to the tack room. Then I hook Rusty's halter to the cross-ties. I walk over to the tack room placing the saddle pad on the rack, Following the saddle, then the bridle on the bridle hook above the saddle rack. I then go and grab my Dressage saddle, Bridle, and saddle pad off of the other saddle rack and close the door. I walk over to rusty and begin to tack him. I place the black saddle pad on his back, making sure It's placed correctly on his back and the hair's don't brush the other way. Then I place the black dressage saddle on Rusty's back, on top of the saddle pad. I place the dressage girth over to the other side adjusting it so It will keep the saddle in place correctly. Then I tighten the girth again, making sure the saddle won't slip off. Then I place the bridle on I open Rusty's mouth and slip the D-ring bit into Rusty's mouth then placing the headpiece and carefully placing the reins over Rusty's head. I unhook the cross-ties and lead Rusty out of the barn and into the arena. I unhook the lead rope and place it over the arena fence. I mount up rusty placing my right foot into the stirrup swinging my left leg over the saddle and into the left stirrup. I hold the reins with both hands. I'm wearing my black dressage coat with my white show breeches and my black matted boots and my black top hat.

*I walk Mad Skillz into the arena, his black neck arched, ears pricked, lightly stepping with his polished black hooves.

I walk him over to the judges where I salute them.

I gently squeeze with my legs to tell him to trot.
He keeps his neck arched as I collect him, his strides under him, his black legs flashy with his purple boots on him, picking up his left front leg and right back leg and the same him, and then the right front leg and the left back leg. His ears still pricked. His head bobbing with his trot. His tail moving with his collected trot too.
My heels where down and head up. My hands gently on the reins as I tell him what to do.

We go around the arena twice going clockwise, both of us keeping our beautiful form, Mad Skillz picking up his hooves and putting them back in the ground with soft 'thud's, you can't really hear them.

I gently pull back on the reins as he halts at the letter R, his ears still pricked, he halts squared, his hooves on the corners of a square.

I ask Mad Skillz to Piaffe.

He trots in place, picking up his feet just like trotting, his muscles rippling under me. His neck arched, head bobbing. His shoulders working and his rump muscles. He trots in place for 8 counts.

He goes into an canter, I make sure he extended it. His legs reaching out, his head moving with his body. His tail flowing behind him.
We're going clockwise, so he leads with right leg, the inside leg.

When we reach the letter S, I turn him around, and slow him to an extended trot.

His arched, bobbing with his body, his tail flowing behind him. His ears pricked.

When we reach Q, I gently squeeze, asking for a canter.
He reaches out with his legs, going into the canter. Leading with the right leg now. His head moving with his body, his tail flowing like a banner over the land.

When we reach X, I ask for a flying lead change.
He changed leads with out missing a beat in his canter as he now leads with the right leg, the leg on the outside.
He does 2 more the same way, not missing a beat. He finishes with the right leg leading.

It was now time for out trick.
I carefully slow Mad Skillz to a walk.
Then we ever he picked up a front leg, he would extend it straight out from his shoulder, bringing it down and then stepping on it, and doing the same with the other leg. His head arched, bobbing with his walk. His tail hanging behind him. He does a Spanish walk to the gate.

I gently tap his left shoulder.
He keeps his neck arched, as he puts his right leg forward a little. Putting his left leg back. He slides the right leg forward. Landing on his left knee, his right leg extended forward, in a bow, his back end still standing.
I bow too, Mad Skillz lowering his head.
He gets back up and we back out of the arena.

I hop off of his back, hugging him.*
"Mad Skillz, that was beautiful!"

Lauren: I enter the arena, Rusty is wearing a white quilted saddle pad, a nice custom black saddle, a D ring bit with a stitched black bridle, And nice white dressage bell boots. I extend my grip on the reins holding tightly. Rusty walks into the middle of the arena, with his grace of movement fluttering with every step. We halt, I bow my head distinguishably. I squeeze my heels and begin the patterns.

I hold the reins tightly, passing the letter R, Rusty urges into a extended trot. His beautiful stride keeps him into a well mannered pace. His his movements are flawless with each step. He trots briskly past the letter H. I grip on the reins tightly to keep balance. I keep my heels down and toes up. Leaning down into the saddle. I turn my reins to the next letter.

We pass the letter S, He now changes into a passage. He prances with each step, looking like a prince. His neck arched and his braided mane makes him look stunning under the light. He continues with his graceful prances into a flawless streak. I grip tighter on the reins and move on to the next letter.

I turn to the letter P, Urging Rusty into a half pass, I tap him on the side with my dressage whip and he turns sideways, His leg crosses over each one while going sideways, Tapping the arena sand softly against his hooves. I grip on the reins tightly and put pressure into the stirrups with my heel. I turn the reins to the right to the next letter.

I go into the letter F, Urging rusty into a short collected canter, his tail moves flowing into the air, swishing into the breeze. I grip tighter again, and put more pressure into my heels.

I head into the middle of the arena, slowing Rusty into a extended walk. His hooves pound into the sand, his face still has persistence, and flawless movements proves that. He slowly stops to bow. He drops his head like he is bowing and I grab the tip of my top hat and I dip my head down to the judges. I trot briskly out of the ring. and closing the arena gate, Patting Rusty's soft neck with my white dressage show gloves.
